I've definitely had days like that. I feel like I'm plodding along instead of running.

Luckily, I'll also have the exact opposite. I had one run where I felt great, although thought I was running a little bit slower than normal. I came back and entered my route - turns out it was one of the best paces I had had in awhile. And I felt AWESOME!

Cheeky, I think many runners have days that just don't feel "right". It just happens. Try to concentrate on why you run, not how you run. Maybe that will make a difference.

Hi Kimmiep,

I do know exactly what you mean! lol Sadly, I've had several of those days lately. Mostly because I'm maintaining when I should be losing. Let me restate that, I should be losing, but I'm not eating properly, etc (it's not a plateau, just bad choices). lol

It's not even my times that concern me...it's that on those clunky days I feel like my feet are clay and just slapping the ground (and then I feel it in my shins and calves--ugh). It's weird.

Thanks for stopping by!

sometimes I think it is just a state of mind, I have had runs that felt slow but my time was good. It is kind of like when you feel like you are having a fat day, and everyone tells you how great you look. Make sense? lol

Do you ever have days when you feel like you're heavy and flat-footed with all the grace of stampeding elephant? Lately, I seemed to be having too many of those days. I've been analyzing myself when I run, but I can't seem to pinpoint what's going on. Anyhow, on Saturday, I had a great run. Nothing seemed different except that I didn't feel like I was stomping. How strange. I'm careful to give myself 24 hours to recover from a run.

Anyone else have times like that? Any thoughts on what might cause it?

Happy running!!!
