Thanks! It did go well :) He said there was absolutely no reason why I couldn't run. That often people with lower back disc problems cannot, but that in my neck should not be a reason to stop me from anything! YAY The pain I was having was due to a fall on the TM! LOL Wish I had it taped...could have one America's funniest! Anyway, grabbed the handrail with my arm to keep from falling all the way down and pulled something right in the middle of my back. Went to the chiro....he put everything back in place, and I ran this morning and felt great!

I haven't had any neck surgery, but I wanted to say congratulations on keeping active and I hope your doctor's visit went well.

Were you cleared to run? Maybe you will have to start super slow (even though it sounds as though your fitness level would allow you to jump right into the middle of a program)?

Let me preface this with an 'I will call my Doc on Monday' :)

I am new to running, though have been doing spinning for quite some time and am in good cardio shape, with strong legs...

I had a discectomy with fusion and plating of C6-7 in Oct '05. In English...ruptured disc removed and donor bone and metal plates/screws inserted in my neck.

I have had NO problems whatsoever since surgery. Was told to do anything I did previously...but running wasn't part of that.

Since starting, the only place I am sore/achy is mid-upper back...a bit below where I had the surgery. A few people have said it's normal when just starting running to have pain in this area...but just curious if there are any runner's out there who have had the same/similar type of surgery and how it's been. I am not going to run again until I've spoken to my doc, but's it's always helpful to talk to people who've been there.

Thanks!
