I'm a 38DD, and found some Champion brand sports bras @ Walmart that are working well for me. You do get the uni-boob going, but they were on sale for only $10 - can't beat that! They hold everything in nicely, and I don't get sore from bouncing around.

Or a big boob size to have a larger band!

The Champion Shape Underwire bra is my favorite. Keeps 'em in place and does NOT give you uniboob. I'm a natural 32 D, which is the most impossible size to find in sports bras. I guess you have to have a big band size to have big boobs.

I'm not nuts about the Fiona either, by itself; it's another boob smoosher. But when I wear it over the top of my LeMystere Tisha, now THAT combination is unmatched for support and separation!

CW-X Xtra support bra seems to be the only one that really works for me, and I am a 38DD. I have tried the moving comfort fiona but it dosen't hold me as well as the CW-X Xtra. I am not sure if stores in your area carry it or not, but I ordered mine on line becuase I don't have any stores that carry it, and I got it perfect fit the first time. Their website tells you how to measure.

While I am not the OP, I am so happy to hear of other tried and true options. I am pretty tired of the uniboob look a la my Enell bra. emoticon

My favorite is the Maia bra by Moving Comfort. It's the only one that keeps them APART, instead of mashing them flat and squooshing them together in a big sweaty blob (like the Enell does!!!) and holds them tight.
I don't like Enell b/c of the uniboob, and b/c the shiny material that stays wet forEVER after I work out. It doesn't wick at all. In the short term, you'll get chilled if you can't change out of it quickly, in the long term you could get a cleavage rash.
And just so you know, I'm a 40DDD.

WOW... I went out to pull weeds and came back to the answers I have been looking for for months!! I knew I couldn't be the only girl running that had been blessed by the boob fairy!! emoticon

To follow up on some of the comments... YES, I am a full believer that a good bra is as good as a good pair of shoes and a lot cheaper than a boob job... I mean I don't want to go from a 40 D to a 40 LONG!!(OUCH) I have been like those women running without a good bra and end up with 2 black eyes-- try to explain THAT!! I am not really concerned about how pretty the bra is as long as it does it's job...which is to keep my girls in place.. the right place, not a uniboob in the center of the chest. WE don't have a good sporting goods store here that I would even have the luxury of embarrassing some poor salesman (which I would because I think it is kind of funny)

Thank you for all your advise and suggestions. Tomorrow is payday so I will be ordering me a new bra!! Thanks for all your support.... PUN INTENDED!!

The local running store here always says that you should get a new bra when you get a new pair of shoes because they do wear out.

Two things are totally worth the investment: sports bras & shoes. I've paid up to $60-75 for my Lululemon Ta Ta Tamers. I have also "doubled up" wearing an older sports bra on the bottom layer & then a "uniboob" (like a Champion) over that. It really holds my 36C's in. Kinda looks cool, too. :-P

I hope you find something that works for you. Really, it's worth the investment & they do stretch out over time. I see it as another marker. It should be a Profile Image: I've gone thru 5 sports bras w/ SP! Ha!

Sorry - I can't really help.

My problems tend to be of the opposite situation. I have trouble finding a bra with a big enough chest band but a small enough cup. Not so much a problem with the sports bra but definitely with the nice bras.

Good luck!

I have heard of a good bra you can find for 17.50 on ebay, when it is normally $40. I haven't tried it, but I'm definitely interested in it!

Here is the link to it. cgi.ebay.com/Sports-Bra-Glamorise-12

It just kills me during the summer when I run around the Charles River. There are SO many women I just want to shake and tell to get a real sports bra. Some of them are really bad - like hitting themselves in the face bad! I hate spending money too, but it's gotta be better than bounding around like that.

I think Nancy wrote an article on this some time ago and one of the websites that was suggested is www.titlenine.com I tried it and there is 1 that I love and 1 that I like. However, the problems that you mentioned still exist, the 1 I love does have the uniboob problem though not as bad as most and the liked one is a little thin and not good on a chilly day lol. I think they both were about $60, but I've had them for about 8months and they are still in great shape and doing their job. I'm a 34DD so I totally know what you mean about the other one's not even being real bras lol!

Shock Absorber have just made a bra specifically for ladies with boobs who run, it won't give you monoboob nor will you overflow your cup.

I personally think that spending money on a good sports bra is as important as spending money on good running shoes. Unfortunately while there is a lot of well qualified (mostly male) advice out there in shoe shop land about what to put on your feet, most of the time your get a "ohmygoodnessthewomensaskingmeaboutboobsan
dkeepingtheminplacewhatdoido????" reaction. LOL

"I am a Runner, I love to run & I want to run at least 3 times per week. I was in great shape & now I want to get back there & look & feel like it. I want to always be strong when I run & I feel terrific after I finish. I love the feeling of acomplishment & the anticipation of the next run. I AM A RUNNER!"

Enell. Totally worth it. Find a sporting goods store that carries it so you can try it on first.

I completely agree about the Moving Comfort bras - they are the best ones, hands down, and I like that they are thick and can also be purchased with underwires (thus avoiding the uniboob look!) They are absolutely worth the money...oh, btw, I'm a 38-40DD

It's the only bra I wear - I think I have one in every color, lol. Yes, it's still expensive (although I just discovered that they're on sale at Amazon - yeah!), but they're great. They have adjustable straps, which is great since I have a short torso. And it's a double layer, so I haven't really had the 'nipping' problem. I believe Moving Comfort makes another bra that is even higher support, but I've never tried it. I barely bounce at all in this bra, and I recommended it to a friend, who is really busty, and she loved it to.

I am blessed with boobs and I wear Enell bras for working out. That is the only bra I've ever had that holds me in place. It's not pretty by any means, but it works. I buy mine from www.ladiesonlysports.com and pay $52 each.

I get really frustrated when I look for sports bras. I am a 40 D and I can't find a good bra. I hate spending $40 on a bra that I don't know if I will even like. By the time you know you don't like the bra it is already worn and soaked in sweat. Most of the stores that sell cheaper bras have the ones that leave you Overflowing the top and/or with a ugly uni-boob in the center of your chest.

I think that most sports bras are made for folks that don't really have boobs!! They are really just training bras!

The other issue I have with sports bras is that they are thin. After you have been sweating and then stop and get cold... well you just nip out. Why don't they put concealers in those things??

I would love to have some suggestions on a good sports bra for someone who was "blessed" with boobs!!
