So many PB's (PR's)
Well done to everyone. . emoticon
I finished my marathon in 69th place - 9th women. 3:54(clock time though i could've had a cup of tea with the vicar between the starting gun and actually crossing the start line, always the way though). A very tough hilly race with plenty of rain and a fair bit of mud to make some bits slippery.
I did enjoy the run

I raced for the cure (5K)in San Juan, PR in 34 min! My goal was in 40 or less! Jogged all the way.
In 2005 (B.C. - before child :-) I did a 5K in 30 min, so not bad! I figure 1 min per year that's passed-- age plus extra pounds will do that I guess!! haha!
But I'm so proud of myself!!! And to watch survivors run and walk was just overwhelmingly inspirational!!

10K here I come!

I thought about spark and all the runners! Congrats on all the PR's!!
WOOHOO!!!! YAY ROOKIE RUNNERS!!!!

Lab Lover, did you the Tufts 10K! I thought that was Joan at the finish but couldn't tell!! It was my first 10K and I am totally hooked. I loved it so much. Finished at 1:15 and didn't throw up - both goals that I set for myself emoticon

I got 2 PRs this weekend! Not by much in either race (5K on Saturday and 10K today) but considering the injuries I've had, I haven't run fast in a couple of months, so it felt great! The best part? I wasn't even running all out today because I have a marathon on Sunday!

2010 Goals:
Get under 6 hours for a half Ironman triathlon
Get under 8 min/mi for a 5K - DONE 4/3

2010 Big Races:
Jan 15-17 Bermuda Half Challenge (8:15 Mile, 1:01:20 10K, and 2:11:32 half marathon)

I finished the 5k in 39:52. I just started the C25k program 2 weeks ago, so I alternated walking and jogging throughout the race.

I am signing up for another race on Dec. 5th. I will be finished with the C25k program by then, so I am planning on running the majority of that one.

I am doing the Tufts 10K in Boston for the second time. Last year it was my first 10K and I was super nervous. This year, I've been training for a half, so 6.2 miles feels easy. Hope it shows in my time!

I am running my first race since I recently started to run again. I will be running the Komen 5K in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday. I am really excited to run at the race, but not so excited about the early wake up that goes along with race day. I am not a morning person but I have a feeling all of my excitement will make it a bit easier! :)

Good luck to everyone!

We're running in memory of my sis-in-law (& childhood friend), Sue, who lost her battle 2 yrs ago this month and a Spark Friend's only Sister who died a few short weeks ago. I'm doing the Historic Riverfront 5k in Minneapolis on Saturday the 10th. It's my first race ever and I'm excited (and a little nervous). Just want to build my confidence this time and run the whole thing so I'm not worrying about my time. The forecast is 30% chance of SNOW on Friday-- could be interesting... Good luck to everyone else out there racing this week!

MY MISSION:
I will live a balanced lifestyle focused on becoming my best self. I will achieve this by overcoming my disordered eating, living a fit & healthy life, becoming financially independent, & building & maintaining solid relationships. During this process I will practice patience, acceptance & self love.

I am running the 8k in Milwaukee for Children's Hospital. I think the temp will be about 40 degrees and I am trying to figure out what to wear. I think I am going to go with my longer underarmour pants and the t-shirt that comes with the race and a zip hoodie that I can take off and tie around my waist once we get started. I am not worried about being cold once I start running it is just that time before waiting for the race I am worried about.

Making little improvements every day. Loving the lifestyle change.

Looks like I get to join this thread after all!

If all goes well I'll be running the Danny Gans Memorial Champions Run for Life 5K this Saturday, Oct. 10, benefitting the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. It will be hosted by Donny Osmond, stepping up to take Danny Gans place.

No PR expected, it will just feel good to get back to a race since my injury.

It's Columbus Day here in the States, so it's a long weekend for us too.

I'm running 2x (this is what happens when you forget to look at your calendar before you sign up for a race!)

On Saturday I'm doing the 1st annual Tufts University Jumbo Stampede 5K - only 300 people, and it's homecoming weekend.

On Monday I'm doing the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women. Same name, different group, LOL. 6000 women running through the streets of Boston! Supposed to be a great race, my first time running it.

I have added an extra day in this week, as in Canada it is time for our "Thanksgiving" holiday, so Monday is a long weekend, and there may be some racing to do on that day!

So, if you have a race this week, please let the team know about it, by responding to this thread. At the end of the week, I'll recap all our Rookie Racers, and post to the main thread, so we can all cheer you on!
