Yes, it's insane. Training is going well. I am definitely ready for the humidity to drop and temps to decrease, though! Saturday was a 9-miler... this is a rest week, but mileage will be jumping quickly from here. I've been blogging about it at silverlinedjenn.blogspot.com, so if you get bored, you can check it out =0)
And I've definitely been armed with lots of sports drink!

It's in November =0) But yeah, I'll probably be looking at December (Christmas -- woohoo!) for new shoes.

Jenn, you may want to wait until December to get fitted for new shoes...the reason is most shoe manufacturers begin to role out their new models for the following year about that time. Not too sure when your marathon is, but if it isn't until the spring, you should have plenty of time to adapt to the new shoe.

I know I can still get my shoes now -- and probably will get another pair or two to take me through my marathon... but aside from this one race where I don't want to try a new shoe, I figure I might as well get fitted for something that will be around awhile.

See if you can order your endangered shoes from Zappos before they are discontinued.

Sad day in the neighborhood. BOTH of my running shoes are listed as "endangered" by Road Runner Sports. Grrrrr...... The running gods are out to get me.

Thanks so much!! I forgot about Road Runner Sports. I used their tool to help me choose some new shoes. I went with another model of Asics. I'm counting down the days until they arrive - then I will begin running again!
My foot/leg feels about 95% there, and I know if I had the new shoes right now I'd be running! I'm pretty sure that my old ones are responsible, to a point, for my injuries. I just didn't think they would wear out after only 2 months!! So, it's a good thing that I have to wait for the new shoes to arrive, then I should be all healed up, ready to go!
Thanks again for you help!

Check out the following link to Road Runner Sports...Hope this helps!
I was wondering if I found a shoe I really liked if I should go out and buy a second pair just in case, guess the answer is yes.

I found my discontinued Reebok Hatanas by doing a google search on the model number and found 3 places online that carry them and for $20 less than the outlet store I bought them at last year!!!

Have looked into buying online? Check out Zappos.com or roadrunnersports.com. As long as you know the shoe and the size, it should be OK to order online.

I went to a specialty running shoe store in May and was very happy with the shoes I got, Asics Gel Landreth 3. So, I decided that it's time to get new shoes, thinking I'll just go online and order them. They're discontinued!! UGH! They have the newer, updated model, but sorry, $98 is a little much for me when I'm wearing them out in 2 - 3 months.
Any ideas? I love the Asics, but the selection online is overwhelming - the cheaper models sound nice, but you really can't tell. The running store is almost an hour away, and I know they don't carry the lower priced models.
