You could run your 8 miles today (if you read this before going to work) as long as they are a slow 8 miles. You will have had almost 48 hours of rest between your tempo and this run (I would count your 2 mile run as an active recovery) you did today shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you refuel after your run today with a good 4:1 carb to protein food or drink source. And if you don't feel up to running today, you can always run on Sunday.

I am supposed to have a XT/Rest day tomorrow, but unexpectedly I do not have to be in to work until 9:00. I am supposed to run 8 long-slow miles Saturday and Sat. is looking like a VERY BUSY day. It would be easier to do the run tomorrow. BUT I did a tempo run yesterday and 2 miles this morning. Maybe I could run the 8 on Sunday instead. What do you think? Would it be a mistake to try to run 8 tomorrow?
