What a good boy! My Cookie sometimes wakes me in the middle of the night because she has to go out. The other night she was whining next to the bed to wake me up, so I staggered out to the kitchen to open the door for her. When I opened the door, I realized it was pouring down rain, and she was still in the kitchen doorway. She hates going out in rain, (like every other girl Aussie I've ever had, except for the blind one) and it dawned on me that it must have been storming, because she's a little storm phobic, so she woke me up to tell me it was scary. She woke me up several more times to tell me it was scary outside. Poor baby, and poor me, because neither one of us got a lot of sleep.

Lobo warned me of an intruder the other night. At first I thought he was barking at me but soon found out he wasn't. It was late, almost 2am and I had gone in the kitchen to get something to drink before going to bed. He barked but I assumed he had been sleeping and that I scared him when I closed the cabinet. As soon as I got back in the living room and sat down on the couch, my husband's alarm on his truck went off. Someone had tried to break into his truck! They weren't successful though and took off when the alarm went off and I flipped on all the outside lights! A few months ago someone broke into his truck, stole his gun, and locked the doors behind themselves and never set off the alarm. Crazy! But anyways, love that my Aussie was trying to protect us!
I sure did hug my Aussie this morning! I had to take him to the vet yesterday because his ears have been bothering him. I had been treating for ear mites and cleaning them daily but it hasn't gotten better. He has an infection and is on two different medication pills and some cream for his ear. It makes him thirstier and have to go potty more often. Well, he sits and waits on you to notice when he has to go out and when I woke up this morning he was sitting by the bed. I just thought aww he wants to be pet. So I did then started getting ready for work. He had an accident while I was getting ready, and I felt like such a bad mommy! He thought he was in trouble, but I couldn't be mad at him when it wasn't his fault. I just feel bad for him and hope his ears get better soon!
This morning I had to see a client at 7am. I get an hour with her, but she never takes that long. My next client wasn't until 8:15, so I came back home until it was time to go to the next town over. My husband is usually up before me and we generally leave about the same time. But he managed to get the day off, so the dogs stayed in the bedroom with him since he was still in bed. When I got home from my first client, Lobo made it known that someone was in the house. He was barking at me from the end of the hallway and refused to come see who was in the house until he recognized my voice. I love my silly fraidy cat guard dog! LOL
