This thread caught my eye. I do not meditate regularly, but seeing as it seems tor reduce stress, I'm going to do a search and add it in (at least temporarily).
Also, I see quotes from Khalil Gibran -- we have a public park in the city called Khalil Gibran park. From what I can see of it from the road, it appears to be simply benches in the woods.

I call the exact thing meditation. I start upon rising in the morning and repeats mantras as the day ages and the need arises. I dedicate my meditations to something or someone---sometimes myself. My first meditation of the day is usually 15 minutes. The other shorter meditation throughout the day can be from seconds to minutes.

Prayer for me is my meditation and is something I do basically every day for anywhere from a few minutes to longer continuously throughout the day as needed.

I have actually learned new ways to meditate. The basic idea is that if we are having stress we can eliminate that stress through one of the mantras of meditation.

I have gotten my meditation from 30 minutes per day to 30 minutes in the a.m. and 30 minutes p.m. I feel great because I am getting some control of how I think and feel, everyday.

How long can you meditate? I have always done 15-20 minutes; however, I am finding that a 1/2 hr to an hour feels much better. I also like the beginning to be led with a voice instructions. Then we are slowly released to meditate on our own.

Meditating is like saying a prayer. You can do the meditations anywhere at anytime. Meditating will help you stay calm and focused. You need this with a new "terrible twos" (LOL). YouTube have some meditations that are for 5 minutes or less.

Have you ever wondered how Goldie Hawn stays so youthful? Not only is she fit and fabulous, Goldie is happy which plays a large part of how great she looks. Her giggly personality has always been contagious but what else is Goldie Hawn up to and how does she managed to maintain that hot body for so long?

Most people can’t believe that Goldie Hawn is 67-years old. Not only does she pride herself in eating a healthy diet but also reveals to Prevention magazine, “I do try to do some form of exercise 4 days a week. At home in California, I’ll bike up the mountain. Or I’ll do Pilates or spin. And I do eat a lot of greens. I eat healthy, but I’m not a vegetarian.

Goldie Hawn also opens up about the key to staying young for her is about being healthy from within. She says, “It’s not the idea of a particular religion that’s important; it’s the development of a spiritual life. Because spirituality creates well-being, health and happiness.” Goldie’s spirituality opens up through meditation.

Hawn has been practicing mediation for decades and within the last has played a part of bringing it to schools. With her personal experience of the practice she shared, “You’ll see the benefits of mediation aren’t just in your head. They’re as physiological as the benefits of exercise on your muscles." And just like yoga, meditation takes practice and time to develop.

Goldie took some time off from acting and started a program called 'MindUp' that teaches kids how to reduce stress and anxiety with the practice of mindfulness. “I just has such a need to concentrate on this one thing, on the foundation and on helping kids become better able to focus and organize their brains, to help them toward happiness.” Gwyneth Paltrow also started a program for the schools based around the practice of yoga called Bent On Learning.

Goldie Hawn believes that everyone should meditate in some manner in their life. She says, “Think of meditation not as something woo-woo but as an everyday task, like brushing your teeth. It’s all about habituation.”
