I concur I am definately a twice a week studio girl. Classes where I go are private or for 2 people - ( I am looking for someone to take them with, live in SC) I used the the one-on-ones to help my focus & technique. Mostly reformer, some cadillac, some chair. She always mixes it up for my. Always do the leg circles.

I go right after work two days a week. She can tell on the days that I have not had work as I am usually more relaxed.

WIll miss it while I am gone for Xmas visiting my family in Olney, MD.

I do Pilates class at lunch time 3 days a week. If I have to miss a day (instructor is gone or I have a meeting) then I'll do a workout at home.

I practice at home usually in the A.M. There aren't any Pilates classes offered in my home town, so me it's just mat work at least 3x's a wk. Sometimes 20mins sometimes 60.

I practice at home in the pm. I discovered Pilates last January and just love it! I took a class once a week for an hour each time. I also took pilatesanytime.com classes when that ended about 3-4 times a week. Pilates has ended my back pain! Right now I practice 3-5 times a week for only about 15-20 minutes to keep the back pain at bay and do some ab routines. :) But I hope to go back to longer routines in the future!

I might try a reformer class in the future. Being as I am now 12 pounds over my newest permanent weight goal (and lose weight at a glacial pace), I may upgrade one of my mat classes to reformer as a special appreciation, at a 5 pound weight loss marker point.

I do have an idea that they would kick my butt. Instead of totally just working the body part against gravity, all of my body weight is on that sliding plate, which would be adding linear friction, I should think unless you weigh 90 pounds, that should add to the fun, right?

We just bought a reformer so now I will be doing Pilates at home in the morning. I have no more excuses - I just have to head downstairs. I've promised myself it will not be something to hang my clothes on - it will be used as exercise equipment!

I have blown through a ten-pack of pilates mat classes in record time (for me, considering I do most of my pilates matwork in the close-in four walls at home).

I reached a breakthrough in mat class today, in learning how the breath works with the core, in releasing from a half rolling-like-a-ball ...

In my home routine, I try to do 3 C-sits, modified ...

at a yoga studio nearby, on the other hand, I had trouble using up the class pack ... though I did not go beyond the expiry date ... When they stopped being 1-year or unlimited expiration, THAT's when I stopped buying yoga classes ...

So, now I know. It's a question of liking the classes enough to use them up in a reasonable amount of time. Now, I am not young and I am not naturally athletic. I did kick my own butt in my own yoga practice at home, in the service of cross-training to the yoga classes.

I do the same with these studio pilates classes. But the difference is, I don't have to be frantic, apprehensive or obsessed about my home practice sessions.

And -- major difference -- the pilates studio got repeat business from me.

I would like to take a reformer class but it is such an inconvenient drive to the closest one. I just do matwork (and not enough of that) at home.

Usually I do before going to bed, but right now I`m trying to do pilates in the morning, after I wake up, I understood that it is recommended because it makes you feel better, blood flows faster and it helps during the day to be more powerful. Also recommended for those who have back pain.

Miss it like crazy when on the road for work.

I teach a 30-40 minute class once a week, but otherwise, I get my practice in at home, usually in the evenings. Sometimes I do my own routine, or I will sometimes check out some new DVD's and also go to anytimepilates.com for different class lengths and routines.

I try to get up early and do an online class (pilatesanytime.com -- AMAZING!!!!) at least four mornings a week for 50-60 minutes. I am definitely not a morning person, but when I am able to get up and do it my whole day is different. It's worth it! :)

I took a pilates class in college and loved it. I found a good pilates video on hulu so I can do it at home whenever. It has all the basic moves i learned but its just nice having the video so I dont feel as aimless.

A new studio opened near me. The owner and about 75% of the staff are outstanding instructors. I took reformer, chair, tower at another studio for a number of years and liked it a lot. With the owner, I love it a lot. She has been able to pinpoint things for me that have really helped with a back curvature.

Alas, I worked 20 miles from the studio. Therefore I am taking twice weekly classes at 6:15 am! I am not a morning person, but I am a pilates fan, so it's worth it.

I have a once a week Pilates Class and that is in the a.m. from 10:30. When I do it at home it is usually in the afternoon while watching TV or occasionally early evening waiting for dinner to cook. NEVER at night - it brings me too much to life!

Pilates is one of those activities that once you have the basics and good form down, you can carry on with it on your own. I spent about a year going to classes and now I do my pilates at home (almost) every morning as soon as I get up.

How about the rest of y'all?
