We're looking for members who have lost more than 25 pounds and are within 20-40 pounds of their goal. As you may know, The SparkPeople Cookbook: Love Your Food, Lose the Weight, by Chef Meg Galvin and SparkPeople editor Stepfanie Romine, will be published in October. We’d like to give participants a PDF copy of the cookbook (they’ll get a free hardcopy once they’ve been printed), have them use it faithfully over the next few months, and shed as many pounds/inches as possible. Members who are most successful will be presented to the media as we seek to book TV spots and place news articles in late summer/Fall.
In other words, we’re asking members to eat the most delicious food they’ve ever had (as you know Meg is one of 20 female World Master Chefs, so her food is outrageously good), accelerate their progress and have their success showcased before millions of people. What’s better than that, right?
Among numerous other features, the book has 150 meal ideas and recipes that take 30 minutes or less to prepare, "Slim It Down" options to make meals even lighter, 2 weeks of meal plans, including snacks, all for 1,400-1,600 calories, and expert tips and tricks to increase flavor and satiety while cutting extra calories, fat, and salt.
To participate, members would need to send a SparkMail to SPBruceC and SPChristinaC (separated by a comma and space after it), provide us with their names, email address, street address and phone numbers, tell us how much weight they’ve lost and how far they they have to go to reach their goal, and take two full body “before” shots; one from the front, one from the side. They would need to cook a minimum of five meals a week from the cookbook, and keep a log of the recipes and/or meal plans they’ve used, and send us bi-weekly updates about their use of the cookbook and progress in slimming down. The more often they use the cookbook (e.g. for ten meals a week as opposed to 5) the more likely they will be chosen if they’re successful in losing a significant amount of weight (an average of one pound or more a week). And the more frequently they use the cookbook, thanks to Meg’s amazing talent as a chef and healthy cooking expert, the more likely they’ll be to succeed anyway!
