Good for you to jazz it up a bit...been back to the treadmill more myself due to rain and darker mornings. Thinking about tackling a 2nd bout of cardio later on too...not sure if I'm up to it, but we'll see!

So, I've definitely decided to split my workouts. I'll aim for at least 30 minutes before work and then another 10-30 between 3-5pm. This should help in a couple ways:
1. it will give me until 5:30 before I HAVE to be out of bed.
2. it will hopefully shake up my routine a bit and help with this last 5 pounds or so.
3. hopefully, it will also help keep my metabolism a little higher throughout the day since I'm not coming home and sitting.

We'll see. I think it will work for me, at least on work days.

For now, I'm planning on continuing my late summer workout plan, as long as I can continue to get up at 5am. Some of the portions may get moved to mid-afternoon since it will be cooler. I'd also like to get in plenty of outside time while I can. I'm debating moving some of my runs to 3pm ish and taking Alexis in the jogging stroller since it's so dark in the morning.

Everything will really depend on how the next 10 days go. I'll let you know!

1.Loving cool morning runs!
2.I am determined to be more consistent with strength training. (I really hate it but know it's important and hopefully it will be like running. I hated to run but now look forward to it!)
3. Would like to try a zumba class.

One of the greatest joys in life is doing something somebody says you can't!

i actually prefer to workout sans music.. the only time i use it now is occasionally for the speed endurance cyle... I have a set patch of music i listen to when breaking in a new cycle routine that helps me get into the groove.. otherwise.. I read while i use the EB... get to do 2 things at once and it passes the time by much quicker.

Over the weekend we stayed at a hotel and I did the unthinkable...forgot my mp3 player for my workouts!

So for the first time I settled into the tube while doing an hour on the recumbent and found it helped to pass the time better than I thought it would.

For fall, I think I will be running outdoors more often now that it's cooler, cleaning up my garden & getting a new patch ready for zucchini & squashes next year, walking on breaks at work. I should add some strength training but I really don't like it. Maybe if I find a TV series that I enjoy enough to watch while I do my reps... any recommendations? Maybe catch up with The Daily Show and Colbert Report - I haven't watched in a while!

When I was in track we did backwards 100-meter intervals occasionally and BOY did our legs hurt after those workouts - you'd think there's nothing left to work when you're already running 5 miles + per day every day, but there's a whole other side to your legs that running barely touches... still, doing it on a treadmill requires a level of coordination I'm just not sure I can muster!

Would you believe someone once enthusiastically recommended walking / jogging BACKWARDS on a treadmill to work different muscles and improve one's coordination?

I suppose that MIGHT be possible once I'm able to get up out of traction and casts...lol!

i should add... trying to learn how to run on the treadmill without flying off... for my short little legs seem to have a long stride while runing..lol..

1) Back to the treadmill
2) Dust off my weights / resistance bands...lol
3) Get lights for my bike so I can extend my biking season.
4) Get out for walks / jogs / Nordic Walking.

Just wondering what everyone plans on doing once the weather starts cooling...

I myself will have 8am-11:30 am free M-F to get my workouts in.. whether it be runing/cycling/whatever.
