How about those Saturday gatherings...?!?!

Can we think about getting together this upcoming Sat. the 30th? I'd like to see if we can get a picture of US for the Relay website (rather than "borrowing" one from the Spark Convention...!).

And also to post pics on our Team page!

And also to plan a bit for the Relay (drawing up a schedule, seeing "who's on first!", etc.)

I'm open to either Dorchester or Otsiningo or Chenango Valley State Park.

Time? Looks like I'll be finishing with clients earlier than usual and should be free by 1 pm or later.

What do folks think?

Hey, we made it to Dorchester in Whitney Point yesterday for a cookout. Wow...what a great MAKEOVER for the park! Check out my latest blog and a couple of pics I posted in my photo gallery.

Perhaps we should plan to meet @ Dorchester sometime?

I had a chance to do some walking last week in Binghamton and walked from the high school area over to MacArthur Park to get a "feel" for the track, etc. This way I'll be READY for the Relay For Life!

C'mon folks, join in the fun and sign up for the Relay...! Check out that message thread for more details, links, etc.!

Let's show Binghamton how we can SPARK! :-)

Have fun with your new addition to the family Kobe! Sounds like a great weekend lies ahead!

Speaking of that, what plans does everyone have for the weekend?

I'm going to be OUTDOORS as much as possible! Biking, walking, but the biggie this weekend is planting all our VEGGIES in our raised garden bed...woo hoo! :-)

What a cutie!!!! Good luck. Mine just got back from leaving a few teeth at the vet. They are still a little wobbly but I think they need a little walk and a little nap

Well the new family member has arrived - I got her yesterday afternoon. Smart as a whip and cute as a button!!

I have more pic in my gallery if interested.

Dad decided her name to be Marlee (after Marley & Me the movie - hope he didn't jinx us and she acts like him ha ha)I changed the spelling to be a little different and make it a girl name.

have a great weekend all - be safe, have fun!!

nessalen - I thought they just did a nice paved trail up there? It is actually up by the dam and you get to it from actually over on the other side by the school? I don't know for sure since we haven't been up there in over a year but I know they were working on it.

we usually take our dogs to run farther up at Upper Lisle. There used to be camping up there but that was one of the first things to be cut a few years ago.

(this picture is of one of mine swimming there actually)

Chenango Valley State Park is pretty bike friendly...albeit a few *killer* hills, but that's a good CHALLENGE, right? :-)

Also Otsiningo is TERRIFIC! Nice and flat and fairly lengthy...I think somebody posted that it was 5 miles taking the loop up toward Northgate Plaza and back. I extend this a little further by riding down Beview St., Chenango St. to Cheri Lindsay Park where there is another bike trail which takes you almost downtown.

Riding in traffic takes some getting used to and care to pick routes which have nice wide shoulders...such as Route 12 USED to have before they went and tore it all up...grrr! Route 79 isn't too bad...have ridden that up to Whitney Point and back for a nice 18-20 mile round trip. Northbound Rt 12 to Greene is another nice trip of about the same distance for me.

I love Dorchester Park also, I love to take my puppy there and let him run around. I wish there was a walking/bike trail there, I don't like to ride my bike on roads, so I've been trying to find a good place to ride my bike (with no success yet).

I love the idea. Unfortunately this Saturday is spring clean up day at the American Legion near me and I have already committed to help there. If by some strange reason we are done early I will try and make it.

I love Dorchester Park up in the Whitney Point area...except their doesn't appear to be any well-established, dedicated walking/biking paths. I still walk up around the dam and back whenever I'm there.

My suspicion is that it's going to be extremely difficult to get EVERYONE on board EVERY Saturday, so I like the idea of doing it every Saturday nonetheless so that we can begin to develop some consistency.

But it would be good to check in here on our message boards to know who all is planning to come.

So THIS Saturday, May 16th I plan to be at one of the picnic tables in the cluster on your left hand side AFTER the restroom building. Blue SparkPeople shirt, maroon Ford Taurus with SparkPeople bumper sticker.

See you there! Let me know who can make it! :-)

I really want to do the meet & greet, but I'll be in Orange County, NY that weekend. I hope we continue to meet up, I'd love to join in! I don't know anyone in Whitney Point except my boyfriend (we moved here from Endwell in Jan. 2009 (and Endwell from Orange County in August 2008), and my boyfriend doesn't like to walk or jog, so I have no one here to push me.

My goal is to ramp up my biking...somehow...! My hope was to begin biking back and forth to work...but since they're ripping up route 12...I'll have to see what other ways I can build my biking into my schedule.

My OTHER goal is to get our local SparkPeople group together for some meet & greets!

How does Otsiningo Park work for this upcoming Saturday @ 2 pm...?

We can meet at a picnic table in the cluster on your left just beyond the restroom building.

See you THERE! :-)

I'll be wearing my blue SparkPeople shirt and driving a maroon Ford Taurus with a SparkPeople bumper sticker.

My May goal is to try to lose inches! I am hoping to see a significant difference in the size of my love handles, haha. I honestly don't care if I don't lose weight, as long as the fat that covers my core leaves (forever!) and I get muscle in it's place emoticon

I really want to be able to fit into my bikinis that are WAY too small now. It's crazy (and depressing) how much weight I can gain in one year!

My May goal? I finally have a workout routine that I can stick to, so I'm hoping I can shave off 5 pounds by the 31st. I'll be happy if I just lose one though, but that would destroy the purpose of setting goals!

I made it past my gall bladder surgery and only lost two days of cardio...!

I've been back to my cardio streaking of daily cardio since, 3 x week ST also, none missed.

Hoping to keep this up, although my several days in San Diego my pose a hiccup or two, but plan certainly to make it an active vacation heading out to the Spark Your Life Convention...woo hoo!

April was rough here. Between my son being home on spring break, then family visiting, then my son being home sick from school six days my exercise time really suffered. Hopefully back on track now and going above and beyond in May to be ready for vacation in early June. My main goal for May is to do more strength training.
