I posted this at another group and thought I would post it here as well.....
There are ups and downs in every part of life including this journey to better health that we're all on. One thing that I think is important (in life in general) is to focus on the positive aspects of whatever it is ~ so today I'm thinking about all my negatives and turning them into positives.
So I thought I'd ask you what yours are?
Here are just a few of mine...
Negative: The damn scale is stuck and I'm a compulsive daily weigher.
Positive: My muscles are sore and so they are most likely holding onto fluid. Also, with regular strength training I'm not always going to see the number on the scale going down as much as I'd like.
ACTION: Weigh myself (if i must!) but don't use it as a determining factor of my progress. Measure myself! AND take pictures. In a month, do it again - then see the REAL progress regardless of what the scale says.
Negative: I'm fat.
Positive: SO WHAT. Yeah, I'm fat and I'll still be fat if I let that stop me. I'm the only one who can change that.
ACTION: Do something about it. Next week/month/year will be here just as fast whether I change or not, so there's no time like RIGHT NOW to change - all I have to do is stick with it, every day, every hour, every decision. Only I can change my life.
Negative: All of my muscles hurt! (Well most anyways lol)
Positive: That means I am getting stronger! YAY
ACTION: Listen to my body. Take a walk instead of intense cardio until I feel better. Figure out what muscles DON'T hurt and find exercises that uses those muscles.
OK I'll stop rambling! :) Though, I do think ANYTHING can be turned into something positive if you want it to. So next time you want to whine or complain think about what you're saying and make it better. Make it positive.
If hunger is not the problem, then eating is not the solution.
You shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill, it is forever gone. Concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now!
