Thanks for participating you guys! You are the best! I got a few more done but had no time to post them. With it being so busy around the holidays I think we should have an easy month and just post on the sticky threads for "checking in" and for what you have done healthy for that day. This should be a pretty challenging month with all the candy around and parties.

So far as of today I have done #1, #2,#3, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #15, #16, #26, #27, #28.

I did # 7 a couple of days ago and did some decluttering in the kitchen.

Did #9 today - we played with Reekie Chinchilla. He's a mess. LOL.

I did #28 last week - I listened to music I like to dance to songs like Party Rock and Get On The Floor.

#15 I have my dad, son, and 3 friends to buy for. I have little money so I will get my 3 friends a candle, and my dad and son a gift card so they can buy what they want.

#16 - It will just be the 3 of us at home and we will be having:

turkey
gravy
stuffing
sweet potatoes
green beans
cranberry sauce
relish tray
dinner rolls
pumpkin dessert
apple dessert

All made as healthy as I can make them.

I made my shopping list today.

Love the interesting and fun things!!

So far as of today I have done #1, #2,#3, #5, #6, #10, #26. To catch up.......

I did #5 on Saturday. I prepared for the return to Standard Time. I staggered my eating the day before and reset the clocks. And I got extra sleep.

I am doing #3 today. I'm staying within my calorie and carb range. Yes, I am doing it!! No excuses!! I will have 1402 calories and 123gms of carbs. I have everything planned and ready.

And also did #6 today. My schedule is penciled in so far as to what I know. I have made a list of things to do and when, like decorating, shopping, going to MIL's house, the Thanksgiving time schedule, Xmas party, etc.

And I did #26 my cardio and strength training. 2.5 hours of cardio and my short program of strength training.

# 1: Make specific goals for the month of November:
a) Do not use my birthday (November 14th) as an opportunity to cheat myself.
b) Make a grocery list and stick to it every time I go shopping.
c) Take my body measurements
d) Go to badminton at least 3 Saturdays
e) Write a blog each Sunday

#2: 5 interesting and fun things about me
a) I have 48 first cousins, all on my Mum's side (she is one of 13! My dad is one of 12, but I don't know his family at all)
b) I am 5ft10 and absolutely love being tall. I also wear size 10 shoes! Which is not so great!
c) I have played netball since I was 8 years old. My favourite sport in the world, and I hope I can play until I'm 75!
d) Last year I was invited to have dinner with the President of Ghana...and I sat right next to him during the meal.
e) My birthday is on 14th November. Which means I was (probably, according to me anyway lol) "made" on Valentines Day hahaha (my mum strongly denies this, but who can trust her!)

On track so far for #'s3, 26 and 28.

Unfortunately I don't have Thansgiving here (or maybe I should say 'fortunately'!) so i'll have to miss out on the Thanksgiving-specific goals!

I like this list. Let's say NO in NOvember y'all! Good luck

I'm doing challenge day one and challenge day 2.

1 .Make specific goals for the month of November taking into account the special challenges you will encounter.

Goals for November -

1. Ditch the daily potato chip and candy binging. Yep, I have to stop!
2. Cut back on the carbs - ditch the bad ones - see above. LOL.
3. Cut back on calories - eat cleaner.
4. Add in extra exercise when I have time
5. Find some personal time each day to de-stress.
6. Get to bed by 11 P.M.
7. Get some of the things I have been putting off done.
8. Not gain any weight this month.
9. Get my dairy in
10 Eat healthy snacks. See number one. LOL!.

2. Tell us at least 5 interesting and fun things that we don't know about you.

1. My grandfathers lived across the street from each other almost all of their lives and were both born on Xmas Day.
2. I was voted most humorous in my high school class
3. I don't have a dominant brain hemisphere
4. I was the first girl to go steady in my class.
5. I'm a PADI certified scuba diver.

November 6 is the end of DST at 2 A.M. The challenge says to prepare for it on the day before just like you do.

I'm doing Nov. 1,2, 3 and 4 today

Nov.1- Goals.. 1-Stop dying my hair, got apt. for the 10th to get it cut off and perm.
2- Going to bed at 11:30
3- Keep my calories 1000-1200
4- Try to get 2 miles at least walking....3.2 miles today
5- Start Christmas shopping.....already did !

Nov.2- 5 things you might not know about me(and probably don't care,lol)
1-I love to drag race/would love to drive NASCAR
2-I need to have the corners of my rooms have something in them,chair, table,etc.
3-I would love to have my hair cut really really short but still feminine.(dh said no)
4-I would really love to let my hair grow long and get a spiral perm(to old)
5-I can and will talk to anybody anywhere, about anything(did you guess that already)

Nov.3- Stay within Calorie/Carb range, set by me......been short lately, keep forgetting to eat

Nov.4- Bought fresh cranberries and have crabapples to make my own sauce w/saccharin
Nov.5- will turn back clock b4 bed Sat. pm....going to bed earlier now too.
Nov.6- started list for Christmas/shopping plus what i will take to son's for Thanksgiving too.
Nov.7- cleaned out stuff from kitchen/living room..now to do den and spare room.
Nov.8- we don't vote this time but am going to check it out for sure we always vote ;)
Nov.9- my weight goes up/down daily
Nov.10- can't eat much dairy but did have some cottage, eggs
Nov.11-flying a new flag made in the USA and will seek out veterans to thank,even on SP
Nov.13- no new or old recipes except Cranberries with Splenda
Nov.14- I save $$ everymonth out of SS and save all my change and divide it up for gkids
Nov.15- Rested today
Nov.16-List all made, today got Hess Trucks for gkid/ggkid
Nov.17- Making Baked Beans for dil's TDay dinner and Apple Bread ( i have these mixed up sorry
Nov.18- not making dinner, ;)
Nov.19-God,family,friends,children,Freed
om,my church,Bible,SP,people who give,chocolate
Nov.20- going to the movies with gkid,chocolate,walking, music,being on SP
Nov.-21 board games with gson
Nov.-22 eating with son +dil but did get some cleaning done
Nov.-23 Made rolls,potatoes, squash, baked beans to take to dinner
Nov.-24 didn't over eat and a good time was had by all
Nov.-25 shopped on line and NO BLACK FRIDAY FOR ME, lol
Nov.-26 too much pain sorry
Nov.-27 dh does all that...i will cover berries with straw/cut roses down.
Nov.-28 will listen in the truck on way to WALLY WORLD
Nov.-29 24 to the best of my calculating,lol
Nov.30 WILL DO ;)

Thirty Days Hath September, April, June, and November..................... yes.............. it's November and time for our November Turkey Challenge.

This challenge will be a little different. You can do the daily challenges in any order you want. In addition, you can do one a day or all at them at once. Some of them are easy and some are more difficult. You do not need to do all of them. I expect you to post the challenge on here with specifics as to what you did. It's not enough to say, I did number 16. Be specific.

Give yourself a point for each of these challenges that you complete and keep a running total. I will be giving turkeys to the top winners until I run out of points.

Turkey Challenge

1. Make specific goals for the month of November taking into account the special challenges you will encounter.
2. Tell us at least 5 interesting and fun things that we don't know about you.
3. Stay within your calorie and carb range.
4. Revamp a favorite Thanksgiving recipe of yours to make it healthier.
5. Prepare yourself today for daylight savings time which starts at 2 A.M. tomorrow morning. Stagger your meals. Reset the clocks before bedtime. Get at least 7 hours of sleep in.
6. Start planning for the Thanksgiving and the Xmas holidays. Make some lists and keep it simple.
7. Do some decluttering for 15 minutes.
8. Election Day - Vote for the candidate of your choice. If you don't vote you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.
9. Spend some time playing with a pet or a child.
10. Post your favorite inspirational quote
11. Veterans Day - Honor and give gratitude to a veteran for defending our country.
12. Find and post a healthy carb Thanksgiving recipe
13. Check out ways to save money.
14. Spend an hour pampering yourself.
15. Make your list of the people you need to buy for Xmas and suggest possible gifts for them.
16. Plan and post your Thanksgiving Dinner Menu - Make a guest list, invite people, make a shopping list.
17. Research some rewards that you would like for reaching your goals.
18. Purchase everything you need for Thanksgiving. For the bird 1 to 1.5 pounds of turkey per person is the minimum, more if you want leftovers. It can take 1 to 6 days to thaw in the fridge depending on the size of 4 to 24 pounds. So if your bird is big you may need to start thawing today.
19. Post the top 10 things you are most thankful for
20. Post your top 5 ways to relieve stress
21. Have a family night and do something fun like play a board game, watch a movie, etc.
22. Get your holiday cleaning out of the way. Get the fridge cleaned out and ready for food. Set the table if you are having the meal at your home. Get out all the equipment you will need.
23.Get part of the Thanksgiving meal fixed today, like the desserts, salads, sides so that you are less stressed and can spend more time relaxing with family and friends.
24. Have a Happy Thanksgiving - no stress, no overstuffing,
25. Don't overdo on Black Friday but get as much of your holiday shopping done as possible if you are not done already.
26. Get in a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio in today and do your strength training
27. Prepare for Winter if you have not already - have your emergency supplies (batteries, bottled water, meds), get your yard in order, clean the gutters, mulch your plants service your car (check your tires, battery date, antifreeze level, get the oil changed etc)
28. Listen to music.
29. Turn in your challenge points
30. Rest
