It sure is hot here. Hubby has been getting so much done outside. We have heat and air conditioning purchased for the pole barn and will get them set up soon so we can work out there in all kinds of weather. We want to get back to remodeling this year if we can..

at the other homes I always had tons of hummers- would love to see a nest - looked and looked... none come here- they must just go to trailers near me as they have feeders up- I miss them.. but have a lot of different birds at the feeders

We had a good lunch out today - then it was cloudy/rainy/windy today, after I got home I started watching some TV and fell asleep and slept for about an hour... I was kind of surprised... sometimes I'll doze, but I really slept. (Hope I can sleep tonight).
Tomorrow it's supposed to be nice - actually, tomorrow and Monday... Then the rain starts back up.. I'm tired of this...

We've had rain here the past few days, although today just a few showers - so... I did get to walk this morning.
Katherine, that's too bad about your pre-diabetes. Hopefully you will work to reverse that. I have a couple dear friends who are full blown diabetics and have been for years and both are in lousy health because of it. She just has lost about 90# though and is doing great, but it's about too late, as her kidneys are failing, although they told her the reason for that was not the diabetes, but living with high blood pressure for too many years and not doing anything about it. But, I'm so pleased for her that she has lost the weight, she did weigh about 289 pounds and now is about 210 or so. She's done so well... Low carb too!! Well, "lower" carb, her dr. said she could have 45 grams per meal, but she doesn't have that many.
I'm going to lunch tomorrow with a group from our park here - it will be fun.

thats good... I started PT today - she said the dr had me doing to much too fast - thats why it hurt more... go 3xs a week and have 3 simple exercises to do and ice it on off days I am guessing - did not ask.. will find out tomorrow..

We have a lot of different kinds of woodpeckers too but my favorites are the red headed woodpeckers.

my big woody wood pecker - I call him was out at the tree with the feeders.. took some pics.. but thru the screen - hope some come out ok... he is so cool- I have 3-4 different kinds .. we are supposed to get rain in over the weekend 80s now - back to 70s monday .. like the 70s.. no heat or air :0)... air cond is leaking onto the rug :0(...... have to put away all my stuff before calling the landlord to come over ... procrastinating-- wish it would just go away

not having surgery and the shots do not work- had tendonitis in both shoulders- the right one has been bad since my early 20s.... I think the exercise has irritated that and not helped the tear- so going to PT will help me learn which exercises to do -- I am hoping.. go for intake tuesday.. today was so great !! went to the senior center at the beach and so much to do !!!! love it !! my friend started working down there 3 xs a week.. hope to go with her on thursdays- hop a ride .. don't have gas to go myself.. arts & crafts in the morning- fiber arts in the afternoon... Yahoo !!!!!

I've noticed too that shoulder pains and problems seem to be so prevalent, especially among the older ones. Half the people I know have issues, including me.
I hurt mine pulling a way too heavy suitcase off a carousel at the airport a few years ago, the carousel moves and that sudden jerking motion did it in! (Now, I ask a nice young man (or old man) to pull the suitcase off the carousel for me when I'm at the airport). So far, no one has refused. . Of course, I smile while I'm asking!

prayers sharon I am going to ortho doc tomorrow - I must be doing the rotor cuff exercises wrong ?? shoulder pain is worse.. will get a referral to go to PT a few times a week... hope to co-ordinate with the chiropractor across the street they say takes my ins... do those 2xs and do it on my own the other days with my walk away videos for cardio.. ?? maybe get the body working

Just wish the dr would call and say nothing is wrong with my dh . He had a CT scan and you would think they could let you know if it " looks " ok ( well that the mass is contained and not spread ) Surgery seems so far away.... the 21st .

You reap what you sow and, no offense to the S.C. governor, but someday he will have to face the music, so to speak. I'm hoping that when it happens I am found on the side of compassion for others and not on the side of monetary greed. I understand the monetary problems they face but they should always err on the side of what is humane. Notice how our politicians can meet in the middle of the night to make sure the well-healed can fly? They put back the funding for airlines but they have no qualms about taking money from handicapped people, the elderly, and food out of the mouths of poor children?

feel for you all- I have the foot problems too..... can't wear flip/flops - went barefoot most of my life - but those days are gone... sc governor took podiatry away from us on medicaid.. he is so great too, see him for consults as to what to do - so it only costs 5.00 .. my gen doc said to see eye doc for floaters yesterday- eye care was takin away too- will call and ask - we can have them check for bleeding in eyes-- but not glasses... they said my glasses were fine- they are so nice to do the extra things at no cost ..

Today I had to go to GNC and get my supplements and had to go to the doctor as the arthritis in my foot is getting bad. My right little toe is fractured so I had to buy new shoes as he said the ones I have are contributing to the problem. I found some sketchers and some saucony ones that work.

I have a dear friend whose husband has Alzheimers and things are difficult for her too, so I can "kind of" understand..
Do what you can, enjoy what you can, knowing she's getting the best care there with you.

Hi Everyone, I hate being away for so long. I wish I could check in more often but I am exhausted and heartbroken and haven't got the energy for more than caring for my mom, working, and school on line.
Mom is hanging in there. She's been on hospice at home since late December and other than her mind, is fairly healthy. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease that I wish I knew more about. I have some support so things aren't that bad. I'm in a new apartment in a pleasant development and if it weren't for the fact that my mom was dying in the bedroom a little every day I might even be satisfied with my life. I'm sure everyone that loses their mother goes through the same feelings. I am blessed to have the very special times I have with her now. I push my bed next to hers at night and lay right beside her, often falling asleep holding her hand. I say our prayers for us each night and I have to say these are days I'll never forget.
My diet on the other hand I would like to forget! I have gained weight, my leg and knees are killing me and I get no exercise. I'm winded just walking out to the car and my leg feels like it will go out on me. I really have to do something because I have to be able to take care of mom as long as I need to. Girls pray for me and know that I think of you guys often. I'll try to check in occasionally but can't promise. I really do need the support I used to have here. One day...

Drum circle at the beach tonight - and for the 3rd month its raining :0(...... if I lived down there it would be fine - but not that close and hate driving in the rain.. was going to go in the ocean to make my ocean art paper- NOT.. hopefully next month

156 this am ! I love the low carb/high fiber tortilla toasted with strawberries and cream cheese and a cup of coffee .....which now they say helps to extend your life a lot and wards off cancer, heart problems and T2 diabetes also reves up your metabolism too .

the little market was nice- no herb plants- but got a cabbage, zucchini and local honey- zucchini had to be hot house- been too cold here - but was going to get some at the store- so got it there... it was good.... got 3 - 1 for each night .. boiled cabbage and an onion yesterday will fry it in coconut butter for lunches.. yummo...... sliced and baked the zucchini and sprinkled dried onion and cheese blend and baked a little longer - excellent :0) will give the little local honey to my brother when he comes down next weekend- collected sc stuff for them to take home- or eat in the hotel LOL

We had a nice day today - first time this year that I've had shorts on!!! Although it was only in the middle 60's, but the sun shines on my deck late afternoon and it's nice and warm out there.

It rained so hard again last night and the cold front came through ...went from 75 to 43 in less than a 30 min. Today is dark and gloomy with a little sun once in a while . BORING day and i guess as i get older it will get worse . We don't have anything to do and it isn't time for gardening yet ( too wet here ) or mowing either . WE watch the duck, geese and birds and turkeys in the back 4 . Or the calves being born in the field across the road ( our son's beefers) Soon my dh will be fishing a lot and i will go ( if i can stand sitting for hrs ) on the weekends . I know i sound like a whiner but i really wish we had a busy life at least a few days a week . I would rather be tired from doing than tired from sitting in the house 24/7 ...watching my dh sleep most of the time

it is 67 at 8am this morning.. calling for a line of storms to come thru this afternoon :0( so happy with my little herbs and 2 marigold pots- deals little 2.00 but full to the brim separated out all so hopefully will have even more come up - need to trim before storm tear them up..

The last time I ate at applebees I felt like they were serving me the children's platter. My dad was shocked at the tiny portions and we are not gluttons. I only had 2 small pieces of broccoli . I like veggies and expect to at least get a serving.

FLUFFY, i did the same thing for the RLS but it didn't help as much as the Ropinirole ....speaking of which my friend's np at the dr's office gave her 4 mg of it and nearly sent her into the hospital ....that is the highest dose and never do they start you on the highest . she thought she was going to die. Her bp dropped ( low anyway ) and she has sleep apnea and told the np she couldn't have anything that causes drowsiness DUH the np says " oh no no it won't " she could hardly keep her eyes open or walk . Soooo take note and pay attention to meds and how they " could " affect you . The one you are on is habit forming ....i used to take the 5mg too. Now you have to have ( in NY ) written script everytime you get it . Now i am not saying the Ropinirole isn't habit forming but it works and i can get 90 .5 mg for $49 ( 3 months )
Dh getting our boat ready too Tish, he has been sick with something other than a reg. cold and is getting very impatient to go fishing ...we are making a " road trip to Bass Pro " Tues. which means we will eat dinner at Applebee's ....now i have to go check their menu ....guess i won't be having the ziti and chicken with sauce going to be while i Beautiful day today here about 67.... Awful about the Boston bombing ! My " granddaughter" 's brother was running in it and got through b4 it happened .
