Accountability - here it is - I have been a little off - and then a lot off and then not so much off - but off nevertheless - I am back on with exercise, eating and positive thoiughts - How about you?

Going to start a new challenge in May - what do you think of this one - I saw something similar on another team - it all deals with the number 100 - you must get to 100 every day

100 steps -
50 calories saved plus 25 min walking plus 25 deep breaths

any combination to reach 100 - I thought it sounded fun and would keep us on our toes - What do you all think???

Hi Whimsy!!! Glad your back! I've been here, but not being very acountable. Today, I joined my husband and we decided to both try the new Atkins (not sure how new it is) program. I have some free stuff coming in the mail, and hopefully, together, we can make it work. Both of us were told by our doctors to go on a low-carb diet - so away we go.
I need to reset my tracker too. I'm up again!

It is not immoral not to finish a meal, but it is of questionable morality to treat yourself like a waste-disposal system.

Jumping back on the train - a little late in April but that's ok! Its amazing how fast everything goes to (fill in the blank) when you fall off! Missed everybody and the accountabliity of tracking - so reset the tracker and the goals and plan to stay on track for a while!

You don't have to see the whole staircase - just the first step.

Be kinder than necessary. 'Cause everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Hi
Just back from a bridal shower - lots of snacks and food. I enjoyed a taste of most, but tried to stick more with the salads and fresh pineapple.
Now home and know for dinner will be leftover jumbalaya or meatloaf.
Need to get back to basics.
Going boating tomorrow if the weather improves -need to relax before work and the FCAT on Monday.

FRIDAY

diet - OK - but not perfect - no snacks tho

exercise - ton of stairs and a walk

fatloser.com - check

Shekirk - sugar - I agree - I simply cannot have it in the house - If I have any I want more - it is addictive - and from what I hear just addictive that even the nasty drugs out there - I read a book about sugar addiction - so I keep it out of my house - funny thing happens - all of a sudden the flavors of food become so wonderful - - It is like the sugar dulled the sense of taste -

Wow! Sugar the more I have the more I want and the harder it is to withdraw from.
I find when I have the Lindt 85% dark chocolate - it's very low in sugar and gives me the chocolate fix I like. Of course no one in my house will eat it because they say it is awful, but that leaves more for me.
AJ- glad you had an enjoyable Easter - Now that both Easter and Passover (over tomorrow) are over, maybe we can all get back to more reasonable eating.
Baba- you are my wonderwoman!!!

WEDNESDAY - back on track

I signed up for fatloser.com again and am back on track - AJ - your posting of meals really holds me accountable -

DIET - meals planned for the week - starting to cook today

EXERCISE - walk each day - or indoor bike

Accountability - I will post on this thread daily -

I gave up sugar totally until Easter hit - then it was difficult to stop - problem is sugar is hiding everywhere - so my deal was that I would not use sugar in cooking or eat things I KNOW are sugar laden -

Shekirk, congrats on the good news from the doctor!

----------------------------------------
--------

The naturopath wanted me to not eat sugar. I worked it out with him that I wouldn't eat it 6 days a week. He wanted a whole month. Yeah, right...the week right before Easter and during birthday season at our house. Sorry, once a week is the best I can do. Two days done. I know there is sugar hidden in things like salad dressing, but I'm still not worried about that as much. I've always noticed that it's when I have more than about 50 calories per day of the extra sweets that I have a big problem. I've been eating popcorn every day until I get past wanting to reach for those sugary treats.

I totally enjoyed Easter. No "I'll eat just one serving and then get right back on track" for me. I believe that I should be able to enjoy anything on that one day, and then get back on track. How many days do we have were we eat anything we want with no guilt? Easter, Birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas... Even if we found one day a month when we ate anything we want, that's better than the old habits of eating wrong every day.

Just the way I see it.

Here are the birthdays this month: oldest son--April 4, third son--April 15, second son--April 22, daughter in law--May 4. So this weekend we'll be celebrating with our third son. We'll celebrate the rest on May 5 when Tim, John and Laney are all in town. James wants cheesecake and ice cream. Already a better choice as far as sugar goes. After this month the next birthday is mine in June, then daughter in August and hubby in October.

Baba = it is ok - I just finished reading an article about everything in moderation. You can add a few goodies, toss out the guilt and then get back on track. In reality, this should make your resolve even stronger because you know everything is allowable. You have been so amazing on your journey this month. Nothing can change that!
Right now I'm visualizing you and your beautiful daughter and granddaughter filling those baskets with colorful treats - laughing and enjoying this most wonderful time. Of course I also see all the pets sitting and waiting in anticipation to share in all the goodies!
Did see the endocrinologist yesterday and she felt all looks fine - no need for medicationfor diabetes, just try to get some weight off. My thyroid is functioning well with just this small dose of synthroid and I don't need to see her for 6 months!

My exercise has been fine. My eating has been another story. I have not been as vigulant as I should and as a result have plateaued.

I can use some support to keep within my calorie ranges.

I need to be more accountable.
I am so good for breakfast and lunch - yet dinner becomes another story sometimes.
With the holidays coming - no bread for me - but matzoh- oh boy! Mazoh brittle, mazoh brie, matzoh balls, matzoh meal pancakes - this week will be very hard!
I see the endocrinologist this Friday - that should be interesting.
Regards all!

Diet - In range, but on high level.

Exercise - walked 1/2 mile (10 mins) & (6 mins) ST. I'm on a 25 consecutive day challenge so I didn't want to brake it. Sunday is a low exercise day.

exercise - the only reason I exercised is because I wanted to post and was too embarrassed to say that I did not exercise today - so it was a motivator to me not to let myself or anyone on this site down - YIPPEE -
