Russell that's what I did this month (the second half of it AND I gained 7 lbs on top of a flare up! I really need to learn control! Thanks for posting this.
One of the places I went to was Subway (twice) And another place I went to was a Mexican restaurant that I adore and had CHEESE! GRRR

Wow. I never thought about the lactose in the cheese. o.O That would certainly explain the sweets cravings and the weight loss stall. Hope the macadamia nuts are a win!

I was pretty sure that cheese did not cause me any gout attacks. Boss, I know you have this problem with cheese. I have been eating lactose cheese when I had cheese, but was more of a problem in that it might slow my weight loss, not cause a flare-up( FU )...lol.. a big F U. wow, forgot how painful it can be after just 6 weeks.

I went to the Amish market 2 weeks ago, and they had no lactose free cheese, so I got fiesta jack. I figured eating 4 ozs for 2 weeks would not be a huge problem. I had been losing so well. This might be a bit of a treat, and if it slowed down my weight loss a bit, no problem, as long as I didn't stall. I'm in it for the long hall, right?

First I started having cravings, then 3-4 cheats over the last 2 weeks. Thursday at 7 p.m. I went to Subway, and had a footlong sub, with sodium added in the form of pickles, and honey mustard. Then in 2 minutes convinced myself that 6 cookies would taste lovely, and to wash it down, I would need two 20 oz Cokes. I had 2 macadamia nut, 2 chocolate chip, and 2 oatmeal raisin cookies. The Coke, cookies, and honey mustard have a lot of sugar.

So from 8 ozs. of cheese, I went to a meal that had a days worth of sodium, and probably weeks of sugar. I ate a lb of chicken later( 11-12 ), and went to bed. I woke up at 3 a.m. with pain. It is limited to the left big toe, mostly the pad under it. One point, so I can walk around, but not put on a shoe. This is a painful lesson to never have regular cheese again. It didn't cause the FU, but led to me eating the food that did.

My foot is somewhat better now. I ate no carb today, except my eggs. I do want to mention that I lost weigh the next morning. I think I get into ketosis very quickly, but also get out just as easy. I can gain 10 lbs in a day, but lose 10 a day also. This tends to lead me to more cheats. I can remove the damage so easily. Just eat no carbs, and 10-12 hours later, I lose 5 lbs.

So now I have to process all of this. Get my foot back to feeling better. Be more strict. I need to test other foods, like nuts, but it may take a while to build up the courage to do another painful lesson. Hopefully some of thes experiments end up with positive results, and no pain. I think macadamia nuts would be the best option to waork, since the have so much fat. My problem was, I ate them inside 2 cookies.

I don't think nuts would cause a FU, but worried it could be a trigger food.
