I gave up soda about 2 1/2 weeks ago. And I am surprised that I don't miss it. I used to drink a ton of soda. Since I gave it up, I have had 1 soda, and 2 slurpees. But that is all, and they were both so sweet I couldn't finish them. I also got a snapple peach tea last week and couldn't drink it, because it was too sweet. Bye bye soda! I don't need you!!

This is an old thread, but I just was reading it. I like diet soda--but am starting to realize that the sweet taste may lead to other indulgences in sweets. Also, I worry about the artificial stuff in it. Anyway, I am getting all my water in. If I drink any more liquid I will have to move my office to the bathroom.
Didn't drink any soda, but I did have a hard cider yesterday...that's carbonated, but I *needed* it! I know what you mean about the water thing! I went to spinning class yesterday and brought a 1.5 Liter bottle of water and drank almost the whole thing during the course of the class. I don't know how people get away with only drinking from the 16ish oz bottles, I'd die! Got my two 32oz bottles with me today, so I should be all set :)
Some life, yes ;) I'm not a big fan of the colas, but I have a weakness for root beer, birch beer, ginger beer...really any kind of beer (and not just the non-alcoholic ones :) or the super sweet ones like grape and orange (sprite too sometimes). I'll bet I'd drink more if my office offered it for free too! When they have food at our meetings and it's free, I will admit I get a glass every now and then, but I'm certainly not someone who will go out and buy soda in any case...I'm too cheap!
There IS life out there!!!! I was beginning to wonder. I used to not drink soda at all, so when I happen to take a sip of my hubby's it was awful, then all of a sudden my work started supplying sodas and I fell off the wagon.
I don't know about you, but one of my weeknesses is soda. I don't drink coffee so I try to get my caffeen any way I can. (Probably where alot of my extra weight comes from). Dr. Pepper is my obsession, but I also have a problem with Mt.Dew, especially when I am exhausted. My challenge for myself and my team is to cut out ALL soda for the week and replace it with water, apple juice, orange juice... anything not carbonated. Let's see how many can honor this as a challenge. Please post daily. I wanna know either way. If you mess up and have that coke, even diet coke, we wanna know. The point of team is to support one another.
