I suppose you could just divide it all by the number of days you take to use it up.

The program takes some getting used to. It takes a while to navigate through all the tabs and all that the program has to offer.

To know if this program is or isn't right for you, ask yourself if: Making everything in large batches worked for you? and Do you feel you need to change your eating habits?

It's hard to change what we're used to doing. Every day is a new chance and lesson in learning new and improved lifestyle changes.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Happy Trails,

Claudine

Hi, thanks for responding. I make a gallon because I keep it in a tupperware and it actually doesn't last long enough for my liking:) The numbers after are from the food tracker, calorie, fat, etc. I didn't want to rewrite it all and when I copied it it left all that stuff on too. I was tempted to remove it, but I decided not to. I find that this program may not fit my needs, because I make a lot of may own stuff and it is very time consuming looking up all the ingredients. My internet service is not all that great. Anyways, thanks again.

Oh and what are those numbers, after the measurement, at the end of each line?

I neither don't know how to break down that recipe.
I'm curious why you would make so many gallons of this breakfast. How many people are you feeding?

Hello, I'm just starting on Spark People, it's already giving me challenges. I make my own breakfast cereal by the gallon, Kind of hard to break it down to portion size. Great recipe for those of you who would like it, but it seems steep on calories when I put it in here. The Dr.'s say you should eat nuts, so I thought this would be good, now I'm not so sure. Any suggestions on the breakdowns?

Aloha Granola (makes about one gallon of granola)
8 cups oatmeal
cup vegetable oil
cup packed brown sugar
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
teaspoon salt
cup shelled, unsalted sunflower seeds, toasted
cup macadamia nuts, chopped, toasted
2/3 sesame seeds, toasted
1 cup shaved coconut
1 cup sliced almonds, toasted

I did my best here, but does anyone have any better suggestions to figuring this stuff out?

Quaker Oats Old fashioned Oat meal, 0.1 cup 30 5 1 1
Corn Oil, 0.05 1tsp 2 0 0 0
Almonds, dry roasted, 0.05 cup whole kernels 41 1 4 1
Sunflower Seeds, with salt added, 0.05 cup 37 2 3 1
Honey, 0.05 tbsp 3 1 0 0
Brown Sugar, 1 tsp unpacked 11 4 0 0
Milk, 2%, 0.5 cup 69 7 2 5
Sesame Seeds, 0.05 cup 41 2 4 1
Coconut Milk (Silk), 0.3 cup 24 2 1 0
Macadamia Nuts, 0.05 cup, whole or halves 48 1 5 1
BREAKFAST TOTALS: 367
