Hi everyone this is my first posting. I just bought the spark book and started reading it. I weigh myself at least once or twice a day. I have kept my weight off for over a year doing this method. I would like to loose 3 more pounds. When I over eat on sweets or to much one day I try to get on track the next day or the day after. I Love your new book! Cindle

This is an interesting ? I started my journey on 1/1/10, which was a Fri., so that was my weigh in day. Then I joined a BL challenge that started on a Tues., so I was weighing in then also. On 2/1 I started TheSpark 28 Day Challenge and that was a Mon. So I was weighing in for each of these (3x's/wk). I discovered that was not working for me. Sometimes you can have a slight gain overnight & lose a couple lbs in a few days and then it is less a few days later. This was driving me insane, so now I am down to once a week and I feel much better and seem to have better results.

Just my two cents!

Have a Super weekend and enjoy your parties, but keep in mind the journey is still on! emoticon

One of the biggest problems with "diets" is the weighing in. Nothing stresses me out more. I haven't weighed since I was at the Dr's office in October. I think I have lost about 15 pounds since then but the only way to know is buy a scale and I just can't. It's going too good without one.

I only weigh in 2 x's a month. I want to see a definite difference. Weighing too often discourages me.

I finally went and bought one last night and so it will be once a week. I was borrowing my friends scale on Tuesday mornings, but forgot to remind her to bring it in the last two weeks.

Officially I weigh in Monday mornings. BUT I work out with the Wii Fit and do a body test pretty much everytime to see what it says. I don't count this number though even though it is about 5 pounds less then my scale....I started with my scale so I figure switching mid way would kind of be cheating.

Once a week on sunday morning first thing. Any more than that and the difference would be too small for me to find encouraging :)

I think once a week is perfect, weighing in more can get you down sometimes, some days plateaus can be hit, water retained, etc. A whole week gives a better perspective. Although the bottom line as long as it is going down and you are happy with what you're doing, go for it as often as you want!

I do it once a week, in the morn when i get up with no clothes so its a better total of what my body actually weighs instead of the added weight from clothes.

I guess as long as you weigh on the same scale - I had two for a while, and they differed by 4 pounds! SO always try to weigh on the same scale each week.

I weigh in once a week. However, I don't own a scale, I never like what it has to say!!, so I go to my friend's to use her scale.

I plan on getting one this weekend or the next.

So I'm going to sound like the crazy one but I check my weight a couple times a DAY. Its good for me to know how much water/bloat weight increases during the day. However if the scale goes up I NEVER get down on myself, its just data for me.

Saturday morning is my official weigh-in. But I do hop on sometimes during the week. Today I weighed myself fully dressed in shoes - I was going to the doctor and wanted to see how close my scale was to his. They were almost exactly the same! So my WW scale is pretty accurate. Now if the numbers would just go down faster!

I used to weigh in every day, sometimes twice a day, but I would consider the official "weigh in" once a week. I know I'm on the scale too often so I'm trying to go a couple of days between stepping on the scale. Maybe I can wean to once a week. I think it would be a more positive experience that way.

Is that official or unofficial? Officially, I weigh in once a week at my WW meetings ... but I also hop on the scale several mornings a week.

I think that when I hit my goal weight, I'll be weighing daily, at least at first, to try to get a handle on things.

When I avoid the scale altogether, I feel like it gives me license to eat whatever I want. (I know, it doesn't make sense ... but that's the way I think.)

— I'm taking it one choice at a time.

Hey... I didn't even think of the added benefit of not being taken by surprise by the scorpions! Bonus! I've never had to deal with as many scorpions as we have in my current house. Even with preventative measures we see 4-10 every week in the summer. It's AWFUL! But, I agree, it's a great place to live... so we work around eachother.

I love my glass scale...(got it at Costco), because a couple of times when I pulled my scale away from the wall to weigh myself I found scorpions hiding underneath it. Creepy!!! especially when you are in the buff and barefoot! Now, with the clear glass scale, no creepy crawly things will surprise me. I think must live in the scorpion capital of AZ. But I love it here.

I used to weigh in once a week. Then we had a garage sale. My partner sold my scale. It was in the bathroom, not in the garage sale. I'm just sayin'.

I do say this with a smile on my face - kind of. Maybe I'll get a new one, a nice fancy glass one for a holiday gift.

I know it is against current "guidelines" but I weigh every morning. My digital scale measures in tenths of pounds and even a one-two tenths loss is very motivating. If my weight suddenly pops up, I know it is probably water gain and I need to back off the salt and increase my water intake. I watch for "a new low" number and don't really count it until I've seen that number repeated for three days. I don't get depressed if I see fluctuations...they are part of being female. So...it works for me.

I weigh in every Sunday morning when I first wake up, after relieving myself. I also weigh naked. And then I take my measurements because in the past I've noticed the scale not necessarily changing, but the measurements go down.

When I was in law school and obsessive about everything, I would weigh myself everytime I stepped into the bathroom - its amazing how much my mood could change with just a simple trip to the bathroom! Once a week is much much safer for me.

Once a week. Most people's weight can fluctuate from day to day, even hour to hour, so it's a better gauge to limit to once a week, at about the same time.

In the past, I weighed in EVERY day and frustrated myself on the days the scale didn't move. I stopped trying to lose weight for about a year & re-gained every lb plus more. NOW: I'm back and losing weight and weighing-in only once a week. I have a body fat/water/weight scale & think the body fat is VERY important to see decrease! Cross my fingers that exercise & more veggies & smart nutrition will help weigh-in be a pleasure experience.

Chef Meg's Baby Spinach Salad with Strawberries and Toasted Almonds
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Chef Meg moves strawberries from the dessert course to the salad course. Fresh and juicy during spring and summer months, strawberries are delicious when combined with tender spinach and crunchy toasted almonds. This dish was inspired by a member-submitted recipe. She reduced the amount of sweetener used and then increased the vegetables to ensure you'd get a full cup of fruit and vegetables.
TIP: Instead of slicing strawberries for the salad, quarter them. Quartered strawberries are easier to pick up with a fork! Full Recipe
