I only had that problem once, thank goodness! (of course once is one time too many, lol) The trick, for me, is to make sure I don't eat anything at least 3 hrs. prior to my class. My Wednesday classes are at 5:30 pm, so I eat dinner afterwards. The 7 pm classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays is a bit trickier because I don't want to eat a big dinner after 8 pm. I have a bigger lunch those days and sometimes small snack to tie me over and then have a smaller dinner, like just a salad, when I get home.

Eating at least one serving of yogurt a day seems to be the cure for me, especially after having my gallbladder taken out four months ago. I tend to be more belchy than gassy though.

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba

U know I thought I was just weird because I noticed after Zumba class I would have gas like crazy!!! lol Good to know, and actually it does make a lot of sense.

The only thing standing in the way of ur success is U!!

It's not just Zumba for me...it's everyday day. At home, work, the gym wherever!!! Some days are worse than others. I've spoken to my Dr. about it, and he believes that it's my fiber intake/ However, I don't believe that I eat that much fiber. Years ago, I read an article that said that the average healthy person passes gas 14 times a day. I am proud to admit...I am "very healthy". (I really wonder how true that statement is :-))

Sure can be from the fiber in my case as well as the yogurt I eat I think I am lactose intolerable

yes, exercise does stimulate the digesstive system. And if you eat foods high in fiber, you are producing more gas. try beeno, even if you don't eat beans. It really works for me!

Exercise naturally stimulates the digestive system, so it makes sense! I haven't noticed it during Zumba yet, but yoga sure will make you blow gas that you didn't even know you had!! LOL!!! emoticon

Well can't say that Zumba is causing that for me but I am on medicine doctor prescribed for the condition Mine is diet related issue I know TMI emoticon I have heard yoga doing that to people would be interesting to find out if others are having the issue since they started Zumba

OK you asked for it since you looked but I know I can ask here..

Does anyone else get gassy when doing Zumba? I used to do yoga (until I dislocated my shoulder and the doc told me not do to do yoga anymore) and read it was common to get gassy just based on your movements alone and basically pushing out the gas by the poses - but that's yoga, this is Zumba. Does anyone else get that way??

I do the videos at home btw so I don't gross anyone out at class!
