The sound system in my gym is so bad that I'm not sure about the Zumba version, but I've always thought that it was imitators.
I just think of the real lyrics anyhow, since that song has been around for almost a decade... the "motherfvcker" lyric was already burned into my brain.
Does anybody else have a playlist of songs that have "fuego" in the title? You could teach a whole Zumba class just using music with fire references.
Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba
That is so funny.!! I always thought they were singing "let the Hippy trailers burn" and felt sorry for those poor Hippys! Thanks so much for the clarification. I can sing along now.
"Imitators"?? OK, I guess I can make that out..
Thanks!!! Now I can work out to that song without singing "hinky-taters"!! LOL!!!
The ZIN version says "Let the imitators burn!"
Wow!! Thanks everybody!!
You all cleared up a mystery that has been bothering me for weeks!! Hahahaha!!
Susanna, Your version was closest to what I hear!! To me it sounds like "Hinky-taters" LOL!!!!!
CECE, some of the girls in my class thought it was something about "hippies" too!!
I think you're right, NZGODDESS. that's how I hear it as well. Love that song! :)
I always thought it was mother - (dj scratching over words) burn - now I'm going to have to re-listen to it!
LET THE ZUMBA FIRE BURN! When we used to use this song, we'd all YELL that over top of the cussing. LOL

Those lyrics are not what is on the ZIN CD. I've been trying to figure it out too! Drives me nuts! lol. We did a big group exercise using that song in the training, and I'm so used to "mother f&*^&*^ burn" and what they actually say on the ZIN version is not even close to that! I swear I picked up the word "hippie" in there.....
Now I'm gonna listen to it til I figure it out, dang it!

"Strong is the new Skinny"
CW: 150.4 :( Oops
Every version I've heard has been a censored version so --fuego fuego the roof is on fire\we don't need no water let the mutha-@#$% burn
We got this!
Hi Kristin, this is a link to the lyrics of the song.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - Lao-tsu
Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.
1st 5K on 11/27/08 turkey trot in Naperville finished with a time of 35:02
2nd 5K Big Cat Pride Run 6/14/2009 in Plainfield finished in 29:45
To me it sounds like he says...let the yankee haters burn.
I have a question:
You know the popular Zumba song "Fuego" (cumbia by Kumbia Kings, I believe)?
What does he say after "fuego, fuego, the roof is on fire! Fuego, fuego, let the ??? burn!"???
No one in our class can figure out what he's saying!!! And it drives me crazy, because I'm using this song in my playlist and listen to it multiple times a day while practicing, driving, etc!!!!!!!
Let WHAT burn???????!!!!
