Glad you are taking that attitude about it. I ,too, haven't lost any weight yet, with bootcamp work outs. I'm still going to try ,though. I've tried to do a little more walking to try and help, but I gained a 1 lb. this week ,instead of losing. Try and try again. sahaus49

Three pounds in 15 days is great! I only lost half a pound a week and was thrilled to be losing at all!

I am feeling very discouraged too. After 15 days of doing everything right, I have only lost 3 lbs. and my measurements haven't changed and my clothes are still too tight. I really thought that I'd lose about 5 lbs the first two weeks. We went on vacation the end of May and I gained 3 lbs then. So, right now I'm just back to where I was before vacation. At this rate, I'm afraid I'll give up before I ever get to my goal! waaaaa.... emoticon I'm sorry for whining....

I keep telling myself that I can do this,to try and keep myself motivated. My husband doesn't need to work out,he's already got his weight off, but he still walks everyday. If weather is not fit outside, he rides the stationary exercise bike, which also works your arms at the same time. He still watches what he eats, but he got about 75 lbs off in two years. He had a heart attack a few years ago, and had to have a stent put in. This was his wake up call, and motivtion. Not the way, to get one's weight off, though. Good luck. I have a hard time sticking with it ,sometimes, too. sahaus49

I found little tricks I learned from different teams to work, here are some I do regularly:

1. Do wall pushups everytime you go to the bathroom
2. Park far away from where you are going, or when possible walk there. This is especailly good idea now with the gas prices the way the are.
3. change up your exercise routine so it does not get routine.
4. engage your family in activities, one way we do this is play the Wii together and Boche ball outside. this has other benefits too, the kids are much happier and get more time with me
5. spend 15 minutes day do housekeeping and 15 minutes a day doing yard work (things that were unplanned)
6. get the kids to walk with you (my walks are slower but more fun, and my kids talk more openly for some reason while they are walking)
7. drink big bottle of water before every meal, fill up on soup and vedges first, eat slow, chew and over chew all your food taking your time and savoring all the flavor of each bite, drink a sip of water or other good for you liquid between each bite

Put on some music and just start slow. Dance around as you do your house work and before you know it, you'll be lifting and pushing and oh my goodness exercising all agian. A buddy is always great to keep you up and going. Something about having someone to check in with seems to keep us pushing forward. God bless, Ginny

It is great that you are reaching out. Don't get down on yourself. Always think positive. Don't worry about what happened in the past concentrate on the present. Take small steps. Remember that to have anything become a habit you have to do it for 21 days. So today is day 1 - pick what you are going to do. Mark it on a calendar and follow the 21 days. When you go to bed tonight imagine yourself getting up and doing it tomorrow morning - you may be surprised how much easier it will become. but remember no negative thoughts.

You can do this - we are all here for you

I don't know how the buddy system works but I'm there with you. The last few days I've felt so rebellious. I told my son about it and he just asked who are you rebelling against? yourself? Just treat yourself with good living. Treat yourself with a good walk. Treat yourself with a good salad. The talk is good now to the application. Baby steps, baby! We can do it together! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thank you everyone for you words of support. I think I am waiting for that "enough" moment in my life where I just change. It happened 2 years ago I just changed one thing and it kind of went from there. I started walking to work and home during lunch and back to work. I started exercising because I did feel so good but I switched jobs and walking to work is no longer an option. I started online school so that takes up a lot of time and before I knew it the weight was back and now I need that enough moment again to get me back on track. I thought our trip to Disney World would do it but nothing which makes me feel worst. I guess I just need to focus on what I can do today and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

I know what you mean about not having time, I always had something that took precendent over me. Mom sick, Brother to take to therapy session, dtr to some athletic event. No me time. Now I schedule it, it is just like I have to go to work, I have to have 30 minutes each day to me to work out. Unless we are at the ER (4 times so far this month with my mom). I come home from work 30 minutes later. We have a large parking lot and I walk or rollerblade or skateboard or bike (actually always a few people and kids out there). The videos I do while I'm doing the laundry, yes everyday is laundry. Both my Mom and my brother are disabled and I'm a single Mom with no family around. Sometimes Dad (parents separated) needs help too, right now he is having Arrythmia (had heart bypass surgery 5 yrs ago) and he wanted company to go for some tests, so I packed up everyone and we went and good news, nothing serious, tweaked his meds and he's fine.

Life can be overwhelming but try baby steps, day one was today and maybe tomorrow you can squeeze in some arm curls while reading to the kids or a few squats and toe touches while cooking. A few wall push ups before you leave the bathroom. It all adds up.

You can do it!!!! Believe in yourself and post again if you need a little boost, we're all in this together.

Think about today, forget yesterday, and let tomorrow be. Start back small and enjoy yourself. As far as being too tired to exercise, they say exercise helps you get better sleep. I know when you have to get up to take care of others that doesn't help, but something to keep in mind. If you don't take care of yourself, how can you take care of others in the long run. I have found that just doing it gives me the motivation to keep doing it.

You can do it!!!!!!!!!!

Julie - I wish that I lived near you. I would do that. I know just what you are saying. I know that my weight is a result of my choices. But looking at pictures of myself last summer from my daughter's wedding put me over the edge : )

so the following MOnday I joined an organization called TOPS (taking off pounds sensibly) and later spark people. I started to walk - in shorter intervals than most and that was the beginning lost 24 pounds last summer.

BUT when school starts I find myself feeling MUCH the way you describe. FORgetTING how energetic I felt after walking and eating sensibly. SO I find my self starting over and planning to keep up the momentum when school starts. IT ISN"T EASY BUT it is POSSIBLE.

Check for a TOPS near you.. It is much more reasonable than WW and such. and the people are REAL people. At least around here! It is not like walking into a gym with svelte young bodies clad in fashionable exercise attire. It is real people that share plans and support oneanother!

Don't give upl I am considering some sort of mp3 player - because when my friend can't walk or my husband then I find that I don 't go --- I NEED TO BE responsible for getting me out and moving. . I know it BUT doing it is another story. WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER!!!!

Sometimes its good to take a break. I rember not doing anything for 4 days it was so wonderful. Even is you miss workouts if you eat right you can still loose the weight. I am on a low carb and high protein. Not any fried foods tho. I eat alot of beans all types. I have whey protein as a meal replacement. I like vegetables and fruits. You can get back to your routine!!! emoticon

I wish I had something inspiring to say but I find myself in the same boat. I read all these stories of people working out, making changes and losing weight and I just cannot get myself there. I feel awful about myself because I just cannot get back my motivation. I want to change but feel helpless. I know it is about making lifestyle changes but I find that I am always so tired either in the morning or after work. I don't get up early and work out like I would like to and after work there is housework and dinner so I don't work out. I know I am using these things as excuses but I wish I had someone to say hey Julie lets go workout so on the days I lack he or she would be my support.

I need some help in getting back on track. I lost motivation last week after dealing w/my 2 sick kids and getting up in the middle of the night. I felt too tired to exercise in the morning, which is the only time I can do it. I didn't exercise this week either until today, but I really had to push myself. I'm hoping to get back on track as of today, but sometimes it's really hard.
