Thanks for the kick, I think it worked.

I went with a girlfriend for a walk this evening, 4 miles in 1 hour not bad. I just finished shred level 1 finished the whole thing without a break.

I also did the challenge today. Am going to do Coach Nicole butt blaster workout tomorrow with a couple of the video's. I have a dinner meeting tomorrow night so I won't have a lot of time when I get home.

It's good to be back!

I'm in the same unmotivated place. Actually quite a few of the people I talk to here on sparks are too. Strange coincidence? I've been passing out virtual kicks in the arse for those who've asked for it, and I could use some butt kicking too! So here's to those of you who need it... your virtual kick in the butt!

Hi everyone!

Well I have some confessing to do. Ever since my vacation I have lost my motivation. I haven't been active here on SP, or at home with exercise and my eating, well lets just say I need to sew my mouth shut.

I am going to make this a new week and a new start. I need to start back like it's the beginning of May. I really don't know what my problem is.

SO HERE'S TO A NEW WEEK AND A NEW STAR!!!!

I am loving watching the Olympics, especially swimmers & gymnastics. They do inspire me. I used to be a good swimmer & it makes me want to push myself.

Saw some previous posts re: bumping up weight loss & getting rid of thigh jiggle. I have been walking 4 or more times a week & doing kickboxing 2 or more times a week since April. I just decided I really need to vary my routine to continue to get results. My Mom swears by pilates, so today I just did 25 min. pilates & I could definately feel muscles I don't usually use. I also just read an article about adding running intervals to your walking routine (walk 5 min., run 2 min, etc.) to bump up weight loss & muscle tone, so thats my next goal.

Is anyone else motivated by Olympic athletes? If I had abs like those, I'd run around in slow motion in a sports bra too!

I'd like to be more than just a 30 minute a day exerciser. I'd like to be an athlete. I wish I had people to do stuff with though. My uncle runs with a group a few times a week, and my grandpa rides his bike 20 miles every day and meets friends on the path.

I tried running on a track behind my uncle's house yesterday, but then this guy came walking across the field and chilled out under a tree. I was the only other person in sight, so I stopped running after one lap and went inside, and what do you know, he got up and left. That was a bit unsettling, but if I had 3 or 4 other friends to run with, I probably would have continued.

Two thoughts:

1. Add a few extra strength training exercises to your boot camp video routine.

2. Change up your cardio. Swimming may no longer be an option, but have you tried disco dancing/freestyle dancing in the privacy of your own room? Your body may be getting too used to walking.

I am looking for a little help. I am in my last 2 weeks of a biggest looser contest and want to know if anyone has any suggestions to boost my weight lose during this next week. I have steadily been loosing and am down 13 pounds and would like to drop at least 3 more before the contest ends. I am eating between 1200 and 1500 calories, walking 2 miles per day and doing the swimsuit boot camp at least 5 days a week. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Sharon

I'll join the tea party when tea time rolls around in my time zone emoticon

I decided today to set some goals and rewards. I joined the team goals to exercise 900 minutes this month and do one Bootcamp video per day. I don't know what my reward for that should be...maybe if I'm on track, I can do what I used to do and sit on my couch with my frozen yogurt and watch Doctor Who.

I used to think the Spark points were kind of arbitrary, but now I'm thinking they're a good measure of my overall fitness participation. So my goal is to get 2500 points, and when I accomplish that...a new tattoo! I'm not a spa person, I don't do my nails, I don't really want a new outfit. I feel bad spending money for those things. But tattoos! emoticon I also think having points as a goal will help me be motivated to track my meals, which I haven't been doing.

WHAT LEAVE Don't be silly. why would you need to leave this team. Okay so maybe you can't exercise as much if at all, but can you still drink 8 cups of water a day? Most of the daily challenges you could do. eg write your goals for the month do a quiz update your sparkpage etc. exercise is only one part of having a healthly lifestyle. Take this time to review what you can achieve not what you can't emoticon

Hi there. I won't be doing the challenge for awhile. I have a T9 compression fracture that must heal first. Also a toenail surgery that isn't healing. Sooo what is the procedure. Do I leave. I would rather sit out and do it when able but if I need to leeave the team, I hope someone will let me know.

Hi. I just did todays challenge Hip to waist ratio and found that I'm an avocado. I knew I was'nt a pear so thought I must have been an apple even though it did'nt seem right. Now that I have read this article it makes more sense that there is another category. Avocado is a better example for me than apple or pear.

I loved today's challenge. I did put in my calories that I burn through exercise and long and behold I haven't been consuming enough calories. That could be the reason why I have not seen a big weight loss recently. Thank for the optional challenge.

Hi all: I have had to skip the challenge since Wed when I had a big part of my toenail removed. I know, yuck. Some muscle pains in my back need healing too, so am intent on doing my best to keep the weight down anyway. I find an awful lot of support on SP and am doing so much better than when I tried to go it alone. Thanks sparklers!

Jenn I too am sorry to hear you are leaving and wish you good luck. Challengers, I'll be back in action by the end of next week and maybe a bit sooner. I hope. We may have roadblocks but no one says we can't go around them. emoticon

Jenn Sorry to hear your leaving us. Good luck with your walking.

Even with me being a co-leader am having difficulty working out daily. I do get a least 30 Min's of walking in but keep up with the ST is hard. I think a lot the problem is we are into the summer and we are all just busy.

I know a lot of yous out there do a lot of the workout twice and do the challenges. Maybe so we don't get so burned out try setting personal goals just a little less.

I have less than 2 weeks before I go on vacation so am making a personal goal of my own to do at least 1 of coach Nicole's workouts (1 time only, I usually do them 2 x) and to really concentrate on my eating. Although it hasn't been too bad, it just could be better.

Thanks Tami- I will try to think of myself as a third month winner- the 18 lbs took the last 6 months to gain back- but one day I went- Oh no- I'm heading back to the heavy clothes... and had to talk real sternly to myself- I'm heading down the right path now... this site is wonderful- it keep brain washing you until your ready to make changes.

I was feeling so out of control with my stress eating and now I feel with the support I'm ready to zoom. Sharon

NO you are not a flop, because you have picked yourself back up and made the decision to lead a healthier lifestyle. GOOD FOR YOU. A step or two backwards does not mean that you won't suceed as long as you continue on forward you will get there in the end. emoticon

OK I have been the bootcamp flop and have not been able to get myself psyched up to loose- I actually regained 18 lbs. I looked at myself and thought WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I finally got my eating back in order and have stopped stress eating- and now I have started to add exercise back- I have lost 3 lbs this week and usually on a good week I can only do 1 lb a week- so wish me luck- I'm back to 15 lbs of gained weight to reloose and I'm going to try to get it gone and then go to new territory- I feel strong- Sharon
