I do yoga to increase my flexibility for kayaking, very helpful for rolling, and I also go to the gym several times a week and do a mix of weights and cardio. And when we have snow, I enjoy cross countrry skiing. I belong to an outdoor club that does a little of everything - cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, cycling and paddling, so there's always something going on and always lots of people to do things with. Outdoor clubs are fabulous if you're solo like me....I've made so many new friends, most of whom are health & weight conscious and very supportive. If you're on your own as far as doing things is concerned, I would strongly recommend finding a club in your area.
Hi - I'm located in northern Minnesota. Does anyone have cross training suggestions I can use while the lakes are iced over? Depending on the weather, it'll be late April to mid May before I can get a boat in the water. Thanks!
