I do not follow any diet or food plan; it is easier that way!! As I need to lose weight cause of my ankle, I do follow the calorie intake SparkPeople suggest me and track it to make sure I do not over do it!! That is!!!

From lovely San Juan, Puerto Rico and loving the beach!!!

There's nothing wrong with using the word "diet". It comes from the Greek word "diaita", meaning way of life. So to lose weight and keep it off we need to change our way of life.

Hi, Becky!

Rest assured that there is NO eating plan that is correlated with Shrink Yourself.
As you can see there, some are tracking calories, etc, but that is their personal choice. I agree with you, as one rebellious eater to another, that for us that may not be the wisest choice for now.

Oh yikes. That can't be good. I was doing weight watchers for a long time and I'm so old that I can only have a certain number of points in a day yet you were supposed to eat so much dairy, so much fat, etc. So it was impossible to stick on the plan. I obsessed over food.
With Spark People, I just keep track of what I eat, no matter what it is, so that I can find ways to change my habits to stay within the calorie range. I'm not real good at it and I seem to stay stable rather than lose but at least I'm not gaining five lbs every few months. I try not to get discouraged and I walk at least 2 miles every day, usually more.

I keep seeing mentions of how people are sticking with their plan, tracking foods in their tracker, etc.

This kind of thing is very bad for me, as it causes me to do a lot of extra eating, out of "rebellion" against a diet probably, but I don't want to mess myself up any more than I am, so is it absolutely necessary that we follow a specific eating plan with Shrink Yourself?

I'm more of a non-diet/intuitive eating type.
