I bought an elliptical machine for myself months ago - My 21 day streak will be to use it for a minimum of 30 minutes daily (HR goal 111) and meditate on "Listening to My Body", then pick an afformation for the day...like "Why is it so easy for me to exercise and pay attention to what my body signals to me?"

Days 1 - 4 were completed before I started posting
here - but are in my SP Fitness Log as
60 minutes/day. I'll bring Harriet along with me for laughs.

Day 5 August 7 - did it

Susan,
It's certainly ok to re-evaluate the goal if life is geting in the way...

I realized today I had totally forgotten about my commitment for the streak for three days--- but I guess it was a good thing I picked stress management that I already do most of the time anyway. At first I thought--- oh no I blew my streak, because I have a cold and totally forgot about it. But then I realized I have been taking care of myself and have at least had a soak in our hot tub or listened to a relaxation CD everyday anyway.

Good thing I didn't pick an exercise or eating streak this time though---- I'd have totally blown it with catching this cold, taking more rest, and doing a bit of comfort eating.

I did great last Thursday, had a terrible night Friday, but recovered yesterday. Today feels good, too. So this is day 2. I hope to report later today or tomorrow that it stayed that way. I'm not gonna make a promise because I've done that before on the strength of the moment and then felt so confused and mistrusting of myself when I didn't follow through. Good luck to us all.

I didn't stick exactly to my plan, but that was not the issue this time around. Had an early dinner of cereal and cherries. It's after 9 p.m. now, I've still got some reading to do for work, and I feel fine. I'm satisfied with day 3.

Yes I like this idea too. So much to work on- what to pick first? Ah yes, not to be such a perfectionist! I will think about that today and post how I will measure it. Thanks Ooh La La.

I love the idea of a streak! Thank you for coming up with it.

Let's see ... how about this: Every night at bed time, I will review my day. First deciding overall how I did with my eating & exercise & making Harriett "mind," deciding how I might improve the next day, and catching myself being 'good' by doing a little back pat for the beneficial things I've done for myself and others! I'm going to come back here and update so I make sure to do it!

July 19 - Done (almost forgot!)
20 Done
21 Done
22 Done (boy, this was a hard one)
23 Done
24 Done
25 Ok I missed this. I had friends in town and we worked on my house for 12 straight hours. I was too tired to think!

I think it would be good for us to have a streak thread. I leave it up to you to decide what your streak will be. I'm going for eating no more than a reasonable plate of the food of my choice when I am legitimately hungry. I'm not pushing at this point for never overeating. So far, I've found that too hard to monitor. But, I do have faith in my ability to tell when I am physically hungry. I'll concentrate on meal size later.

Sunday, July 19: day 1.
