I hope the surgery went okay.

I'm planning on fixing up my steel wheels, giving them a chrome lip (eBay!) and painting the center in my cars color, that'll make them look decent enough, and it's cheaper than getting alloy wheels.

I ordered a K&N airfilter and received the wrong one, so that's been fun.. waiting for the right one to arrive now.

Do what you can, it's all you can do. The car is meant to be a daily correct? Don't need to do too much to it if it's your daily driver now. Just keep it clean and running.

We are starting to look at buying a car for the daughter. She can start driving in December...that's a scary thought. She will be able to drive herself to school in no time. Another scary thought. lol

I've been super busy with work and stuff at the house. Surgery is Wednesday morning, and I have a lot to do before 5:30 am that morning lol. I'm finishing up laundry now before work. I got some things done this weekend, but not as much as I had hoped to. I'd like to get this house looking nice before hubby comes back from vacation tomorrow night. kiddo said she would help me.

If I got an AE86 I'd also need another parking spot in the garage, hahaha.

I'm working on my sedan on a budget. I did a ton of paint repairs using a paint marker today, I also used a tire/trim gel on my tires and black trim. I've been looking for different hubcaps on eBay as well, as I won't be able to afford alloy wheels for a while.

I'll get alloy wheels next year, as I'm using my old 15" alloys for winter wheels, and the current summer wheels are 14" steelies.. I'm not going to enjoy going back to steelies after the next winter, that's for sure.

Well look at you and your Corollas, now you just need an AE86 model :P

I just had to pay the government a crap ton of taxes, so I won't be working on the cars for a few months. Time to build up my savings again. Between that huge chunk of change and the money I have to cough up for my surgery on Wednesday, I have only $100 left in my savings account right now.

I got the car :D a 1997 Toyota Corolla sedan. :)
My showcar is a 2002 Toyota Corolla hatchback so they really work well together.

They're one generation apart, both are pre-facelift versions of their own generations.

I've had nothing but rain so I haven't had a lot of time to work on the sedan, unfortunately.

So did you get the car yet?

We installed a lift kit and new suspension on a Jeep this weekend, lowered another xB and put new exhaust on it. Been a busy install weekend, but the weather has been gorgeous!

T minus 9 days (not counting today) until my surgery.

I've got many people guessing and so far everyone's wrong. :D
I'll just say this, the car is surprisingly similar, while not being similar at all.
That'll make sense once I show a picture of the car when I actually get it this weekend. ;)

Installing electronics can be fun, but quite a bit of work!
I'll probably install some parking sensors on the rear of the daily soon.
This car is a bit longer than the Modded Corolla.. :)

so the new ride is a guessing game or a secret...got it!

We are hoping to finally install the strobes in the xB this weekend. They were originally in the tC I sold a year ago, and we have yet to install them into the box. Part of it is due to how many wires you have to run and finding the room for the control box...the xB is pretty filled with electronics already.

One bit of luck today, the wrecker that bought my car was able to pick it up today.
So the car is gone, and gone forever. I no longer have to see it parked outside my house,
that'll bring my mood up at the very least.

yeah I know about being broke right now. I have been pinching every penny I have, since the US government on April 15th will be taking 3800 from me for taxes. Still not sure how I owe that much and why, but I do. Yay me. I've already changed all my tax forms so they are taking more out of my paycheck now. Sucks so much though.

I'm going on 3 hours of sleep right now, couldn't sleep last night, so it's going to be a long tiring day.

Yeah I'm down a ton of cash and will only get wreckers' prices back for it.

So I'm on the hunt for an older generation Corolla with no budget at all.
I'm looking around the house, trying to find things I can sell off for some money.
I need something positive to happen to get my mood back up.
Getting a proper reliable car to play around with could definitely do that for me.

I'm sorry to hear the Subaru didn't work out. My friend with the STI, is ready to blow up his Subaru. After seeing all the issues he has had with it and how much money he's wasted on it, I don't think I will ever buy one. I think I will stay in my Toyota family. Fast wise, I will get the IS-F eventually instead of an STI.

This week is off to a meh start. My back is acting up extra bad the last couple of days. Surgery on the 8th cannot get here fast enough.

well, here's some news:

The Subaru is gone.
Still didn't run properly so it's up for sale, first bidder is going to get it.
I don't want that one tonne paperweight in front of my house anymore.
I'm taking my losses and buying an older generation Corolla as a daily driver.
At least those are reliable, Toyota's 4AFE engine is absolutely bulletproof.

I've put the summer wheels back on the Modded Corolla because the season is about to start, and because it's actually driving on a daily basis right now, it's too warm to be using winter tires during the day so it only makes sense to switch back to the summer tires. :)

I agree about the 20+ years, I do not care. The fact that I can now legally import one to the USA is fantastic and it's not too bad in price, only problem is you have to pay cash. So I have to save up 23k pretty quickly lol
I am glad you have both cars back, shame on the garage for taking so long in letting you know your car was ready, that's not cool. So the wheels going back on the Corolla because it's officially show season again?

I called the garage again, reached down my phone and strangled the guy that answered.

Result: My car is actually done now, after having been in repairs for just over two weeks.
Part replaced: fuel pump
Time taken: 2 days
(what the heck have they done during the other two weeks?!)

I'm picking the Subaru up on saturday and I'm going to be working on both the Subaru and the Corolla all weekend. I'm going to put the 18" wheels back on the Corolla and I've got a lot of small parts that need to go on the Subaru.

R32 Skylines are awesome cars, the 20+ years really doesn't matter.. That car is absolutely timeless. :)

Yeah my friend's WRX is down again....this car is seriously cursed. He bought it used for 20k, and since he bought it, he's dropped another 10k into it, having to rebuild engine, etc. It's just one thing after another. We are wanting a performance vehicle again, but this one is not going to be it, if I have any say. We are actually looking into an R32 Skyline, they are now legal in the USA and we can actually buy one through a company that already imports them. Talk about a fun car if we can get our hands on one. Because they are 20+ years old, they won't have to go through inspections like normal cars do, and we could find parts for them pretty easily, we've done our research. We can get a NISMO fully loaded one for around 23k and it will have less than 60k miles on it :)

I have driven my car for a grand total of 3 days and it's already back at the garage with a dead fuel pump. They're stalling the repair and have looked at every single part they could look at aside from the pump.. I went to give those guys a surprise visit to "have a look at their planning" and I think I got my point across to them. I better have the car back next weekend or my next surprise visit might not be as friendly....

I'm glad that I don't have a performance Subaru because those can get real expensive to repair. I've got a simple 1.3 liter engined Subaru that doesn't actually use a Subaru engine. it's the body style of a Suzuki Swift / Geo Metro, so it also uses the Suzuki engine. and its single point injection system is known to be sensitive.

Unfortunately I can't get a brand new injection needle, as it would take about six weeks to arrive. I don't have that kind of time. The car has been running on pure injector cleaner for half an hour today, and the entire system from tank to injectors has been cleaned. so hopefully I'll be able to reliably run the engine again for a long time. I will be looking for a used injection needle on a scrapyard somewhere, and I'll keep that in the car as a spare.
it's only a 4 minute job to replace the needle and I'd be able to do that at the side of the road if the problem ever occurs again.

The rest of the car seems to be in perfect shape as far as an 18 year old car goes, so I should be able to drive the car around for at least a few more years.

I am sorry to hear the car had you stranded...that sucks.
Yeah used Subaru's tend to be a headache at first. A good friend bought a used STI about a year ago. It's been out of commission and in shops more than he has driven it. He completely rebuilt the entire engine and turbo in the car when it decided to kill itself coming back from a big car show we do every year in Arkansas. In repairs, fixing and tunes, he's dropped 10k into a car he paid 20k for. At this point he could have bought a brand new one. I feel so bad for him, he is so frustrated with the car, and I don't blame him. It's truly a love hate relationship.

I'm currently collecting Subaru parts in a big box.

My Subaru left me stranded yesterday, after several hiccups on the highway, it eventually stalled and refused to start. the fuel injection system (single point injection) has died and I'm waiting for a replacement part. I suppose standing still for 3 months at the dealership hasn't done the injection system any good, and single point injection is a sensitive system to begin with...

During the test drive the car still ran fine, so I've just been very unlucky with this one. some brake cleaner/degreaser in the throttle body got the car to start again and I was able to drive it to the Toyota dealership who will be replacing the fuel filter, checking the fuel pump, checking the spark plugs, and replacing the injection system.

Cleaning the injection system might be possible, but I really don't want to risk this happening again in like 8 months, so I'll probably go for the more expensive option and have it replaced. I got the car to the Toyota dealership that also services the Modded Corolla so I know these guys are honest and won't be trying to rob me blind.
They're part of a dealership chain that also has some Suzuki dealerships, and as my Subaru is Suzuki-engined, it's safe to say that the Toyota dealership will be able to check on my car properly.

Saw the pictures, looks good!
We started trying to install a 2-way Viper alarm system into the Lexus. Turned out to be bigger project than expected, so we will be working on it again tonight.

Thanks :)

I'm having loads of fun with the car already, got about 7 small mods done.
I've uploaded a new picture on the team wall, definitely looks facelifted with the clear indicator housings that I put on. :)

I picked up my new ride today!

The first mods are already lined up and I'll probably work on the car a bit over the weekend.
installing a radio, possibly replacing speakers, replacing the front indicator housings with clear housings, removing damaged stickers, fixing up some of the silver paint that's flaked off the bumper. I'm using the Corolla's old silver paint for that last one, I'm on a budget!

Yeah in AZ we didn't have stickers, in TX we have two big ugly stickers on our windshield, one is registration and one is your inspection.
Good news, starting March first, there will only be one sticker. You will be required to go get an inspection and then go renew your registration and to get your registration you will now have to give them the inspection report and your insurance card showing active car insurance (insurance was already required). They will now link your inspection to your registration sticker. I won't get the one sticker on my cars though till next year. Both cars were due for registration in January and the new Lexus isn't due for inspection till 2016 (new cars don't have to have an inspection until 2 years old).

The car passed inspection (after repairs) today, I'm picking it up on friday.
DMV website hasn't updated the inspection date yet,
but I guess that's just the government being slow.

We get a piece of paper that goes with the cars registration papers in the glovebox,
no stickers or anything like that. :)

Yes you definitely need a radio!
Sorry you did not get the car by the weekend, but those inspections are a good thing. We have to get yearly inspections in Dallas County as well, but they are not as in depth as the ones you guys do. They check tires, brakes, all lighting works (headlights/tail lights, etc), horn works properly and it passes all the emissions tests. Then you get a sticker that goes on the inside of your front windshield next to the registration sticker...well that where it goes in TX. When I lived in AZ, the part of AZ I lived in didn't require inspection, and our registration went on our license plate. Each state/county is different here.

Well I'm all about the Subaru's now, hahaha. get the WRX! ;)

an xB is a nice car for her to start with, not a bad deal at all!
Insurance is definitely high at the start so it makes sense to go with the oldest car.

Unfortunately my Subaru got delayed by another week. The garage was unable to get it road worthy in time for me to pick it up this weekend. Cars need to pass a road safety / general conditions check every year, and the certificate of the last check ended two days ago.

I knew that after standing outside and not moving for 3 months, the car barely had brakes left, they were rusted too badly and would need replacing or repairing. They probably found some other things that needed to be replaced or repaired to get a new certificate because they were still waiting for a few parts last friday, and haven't managed to fully finish the car before the work day ended.

They told me the car will actually be done on monday, but I can't go collect it halfway through the week unless I take a day off.. I might actually do that on friday to go get the car.

I want to spend the next weekend just working on it, I have some small mods planned, putting a radio in being the main one, as there's no radio in the car at this point.

I saw the pic...what an awesome daily driver! How exciting!
I'm hoping after taxes are due on April 15, to start stuffing savings for the Lexus. We have the BBS wheels sitting in the garage, her stereo system is hooked up and sounds amazing, the tint was done when we first got her, but we have some other plans. We will put her either on coilovers or air ride, and we really want the Rocket Bunny Kit, and put the dual exhaust that goes with the body kit (even if it really has not much purpose on a half electric car), it would make it look nicer.
Our goal in the next year is have enough down to buy a house and a 3rd vehicle again, since the kiddo will be able to get her learners permit around Christmas time. We are going to probably give her the xB, it is the oldest vehicle we have, it is safe, runs great and insurance will cost the least on it. We are looking for a faster car again, leaning towards a used IS-F or RS-F Lexus or a Subaru WRX STI.

OMG, I've actually heard of the Justy, but never actually seen one. hahaha, I can't wait to see a picture, I bet that will be a fun daily driver!

Mum is doing really well. She was home from the hospital in less than 36 hours, and she is so stubborn she was taking care of her drains on her own, without my help. I am hoping she might get one of the two drains removed today. I will have to get with my sister to see where she is on the amount of cc that is still draining.

I am back in TX, flew back Saturday night, my sister is now there for the week with her. She bought my 1 year old niece too so mum gets to spend time with her grandbaby too. My younger brother went to up visit this weekend as well, and he bought my mom a new fridge! Hers has been on the outs for awhile, leaking and no ice working, etc. So it was an amazing surprise, I am sure she probably cried, but that was amazing that he did that for her. I replaced her coffee pot and microwave with new ones when I was there for Christmas. It seems we are slowly upgrading her :)

I hope both you and your mum are doing better!
That's a disease no one wants to battle with..

I did end up finding a daily driver and I bought it yesterday.
They're going to service the car as it has been standing still for 3 months.
And I'm picking it up next week.

The car that I ended up getting is an AWD Subaru Justy.
This generation is a Suzuki Swift shell with Subaru's AWD drivetrain underneath.
These things are heaps of fun in the snow and off road!
Low weight, so low tax, and fuel economy is about the same as the Corolla.

I'll put up a picture of the "Suzubaru" on the main page of the group.

Yikes, I am sorry to hear you had to chase someone down and are not having much luck finding a daily driver.

Sorry for the slow response, I have spent the last 2 days in the hospital with my mum, she had her breast cancer removed yesterday, the entire left side, all tissue and first and second level lymph nodes in her armpit. She is home tonight, comfy in her own bed, so I might actually sleep a little bit tonight.

Ouch! I know my cashflow will start hurting once I move into my apartment..

The 1.4 Micra got sold, another one I looked at got sold, and so did a third one.
There's one 1.4 left but it's at a car dealership that's known for selling cars that have been crashed and badly repaired (they'll put a new bumper on and sell it, even if it's crooked underneath) so that's a no-go.

I'm currently out of cars to look at, unfortunately.

I also got in contact with the wrong side of a moving car yesterday.
I jumped but still got tapped by a car that didn't stop at a pedestrian crossing that I was walking on.. they didn't even stop after they hit me.
I literally chased the car down on foot and made them stop eventually.

oooh that would be a great little daily driver! I hope it works out for you.

We are going to work on budgeting better this year. Looks like the IRS doesn't like the new income and we came up short so we have to pay them $3,800 on April 15 this year :(

I already changed my tax documents for work so this shouldn't happen again, but now my paychecks are a bit over 200 less, that's 400 less a month :(

I have been so busy, I haven't topped those push-ups yet.. I'll get to that soon!
I did walk close to 13 miles last weekend, nice cardio. ;)

The search for a daily driver might come to an end this friday.
I'm going to look at a 2002 1.4 Nissan Micra.
Hopefully it's in good condition, if it is, my search is over!

I have been walking in the evenings, even with temps down into the 20s. The hubby says I'm crazy, but I'm determined to hit my 10k step goal daily. I've done it twice this week so far :) The goals is to hit it 5 out of the 7 days this week. I didn't make it on Monday...my back was really hurting so I took it easy for the evening.

I really need to work on hydration today. My walk last night resulted in a leg cramp so bad you could see the muscle deform on my leg. Usually that's a sign of dehydration and/or needing potassium from what I read.

there's only one way to do it, get into it!

Did a nearly 3 mile walk today to bring a little tupperware container back to my brothers house, his wife had left it at my parents' house after christmas dinner, and I decided that it was a good opportunity for a walk. :)
She called me crazy because wind speeds are insane and it had only just stopped raining, haha.

That is pretty impressive...I should try that! I don't even know the last time I did a push up. It's hard to get down on the floor with the back pain. I really wish I could just snap my fingers and my back would be fixed. Lately it seems it just makes everything harder.

I did 100 push-ups today. my arms are completely shot now! :)

I've been doing push-ups every single day for 574 days now. a minimum of 10 but I usually do about 35 daily. I decided to see if I could make it to 100, and I can. :D

I've had some lower back issues for years, that's why I've never done a workout video, they always include one or two things I just can't do.

I actually joined this website because it had a lot of fitness exercises that I could use to put my own routine together, and I'd know what muscle groups I'd be working on, and what exercises to add in order to make sure I get a good all-round exercise in.

As for cardio, that's all bike rides and a few walks, I've had two bike rides so far this week, adding up to a total of 45 minutes. When the weather gets better I will get back to 3 to 4 bike rides a week, 20 to 35 minutes on each of those rides. :)

A cheap daily is a great thing to have with a show car. Definitely try to garage her when you can, it will save you a lot of money on paint :)

My goals for this year, so far I'm trying to set fitbit goals, how many steps I can get in a day. I'm bringing my breakfast and lunch to work instead of eating out and trying to be more positive, with myself and to others. I want to start doing my workout videos again, but so far my back is not wanting that to happen.

My goals are to get back on track weight wise, I've actually been back on that wagon for 4 days now, I've had no snacks whatsoever and I've been drinking loads of water to start off with. My main form of cardio exercise is to do bike rides, and it's just too cold to get on my bike 3 to 4 times a week.. as soon as the weather allows it I'll be doing that again though.

Other goals.. get my Corolla showcar in a garage. The small damages from daily use aren't good for her, I'm getting a (partial warranty) respray near the end of February and I want to get my Corolla in a garage shortly after. I'll be getting a daily driver for everyday use.

I can't spend crazy amounts though, as my apartment will be finished around the summer, and I'll be spending a lot of money on getting the floors and walls done, and I need to buy all the furniture for it as well.

That's pretty much my goals/plans for this year.. How about you?

i agree, if you mind is set on something, you will start it immediately and that's that, you shouldn't have to wait to a specific day to mak ea change, just start right then, when you know you are ready.

Well 2015 is upon us. Happy New Year!

Yup, and that really is the only way to get something done right.
Setting a goal, and instantly starting to work on it..

You can see the bad example all the time with smokers.. "I am going to stop smoking... after the weekend" or "I am going to stop smoking.. after I finish this pack". it just doesn't work.
Setting a goal and immediately working towards it will grant a much higher chance of actually succeeding. A friend of mine decided to stop smoking and threw his half-full pack of cigarettes right in the trash. That happened well over a year ago and he hasn't smoked since the moment he decided to quit. :)

You sound like me, when I'm ready to set a goal, I do it right then, not wait till a certain time to get started. If I wait, I am more likely not to start or be excited about that goal any more. These "resolutions" as they are called...I guess you could say I do them all year round, not just one day a year :)

I definitely cut my computer time down as well through this holiday, the things that happen outside of the computer screen are always more important than the things happening inside it. ;)

I don't do new years resolutions, if I decide to make a change then I don't need a certain date to start them, I think that forcing myself to start doing something new or making a major change on some predefined date will only result in failing to reach that goal.

The only way to stand a good chance at reaching a goal is saying "I'm going to make this change.... now!" and there's a huge chance that it'll be on a different day than Jan 1st. :)

I really tried to avoid my computer the week I was home in Arizona with my mum. I am on a computer all day every day for work and I just wanted to try and not rely on technology and spend time with family. That is why I was absent this week, sorry about that. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you are looking forward to 2015!

I don't really do resolutions, but are you making any resolutions for 2015?

Oh yeah once you get a routine in, it'll work quite well.

I just figured out my own schedule and got my routine in that way, which worked very well for me. there's more ways to reach a destination, and we all have a different one. :)

Hope you're having a nice Christmas!

I never really do videos and such because I like to do things my way.
I don't do cardio indoors, I do have a strength training routine that I can do in my room.

I just squeeze in bike rides whenever I can, it's not freezing at this moment and it might be dry on friday evening or saturday morning so maybe I'll be able to squeeze one in then.

Oh the holiday season.. so easy to put weight on, so difficult to take it off!

Good luck with the routine, unfortunately I can't keep up with my bike riding routine at this time as it's just too cold to ride.. I switch to taking walks instead as that's more doable in the cold, but it takes up a lot more time to get the same results.

I am doing good on my push-up streak at least, I do 35+ push-ups every single day of the week, and have been doing them for well over 500 consecutive days. In fact today is day number 537. ;)

I was going to wash the cars yesterday, but we ended up doing yard work instead.
It was 76 degrees here yesterday, and only 58 last night. I'm not sure when we will have another cold front come through.

hahaha, yeah it seems that wheels don't stick around long. I still have the BBS wheels in the garage that we need to clean and fix up and fit on the CT, we just haven't yet. They are a 3 part wheel so we are going to pull them apart and powder coat the inner piece blue, it should look pretty sweet when we get it done.
We are still saving up for the air ride for the CT, it just came out a few months ago and cheapest I've found it so far is 3k, with the hubby having surgery and helping my mom with cancer bills, toys are just not in the budget right now.

I remember when my brother (the previous owner of my Corolla) ordered the Toyota Team Europe wheels brand new, Toyota Netherlands took several weeks to get a full set of four wheels together, they only had three brand new wheels in The Netherlands and had to import the fourth one out of a German Toyota dealership. that's how rare they were back in 2009.. hahaha

Yeah I did what I could to try and help find one for him, I had no luck. I told them best bet is to call the manufacturer directly and see if maybe there is still one in the warehouse somewhere, and I sent him their website and phone number.

We had a couple cold weeks, then a lot of rain Friday and Saturday, then yesterday was gorgeous, it was like 70 degrees and sunny. It was nice to see all that sunshine when we hadn't for a couple weeks. I will definitely check out your pictures.

It always hurts to hear about things like that, hopefully he can find a replacement wheel.. even our extremely rare Toyota Team Europe wheels still pop up from time to time. I know of a club member that smashed one wheel and he held on to the other three wheels, trying to find a fourth wheel to once again complete his set.. after about three years he finally managed to find one.

I put up another picture on the team wall, that's my current winter wheels (I give them a new design each year) but they're not actually on the car aside from that picture. as it's still too warm right now. This might be the last warm week of the year though.

We had about a week where at night it was dropping to the 20s and the days were only in the 30s and 40s. It's warmed up some this week, 40s in the evening and 60s in the day. That is the kind of fall weather we are used to in Texas.

Because the weather here doesn't get very bad we don't swap out the wheels on the car. I did hear from the new owner of my old car, asking some questions. I was sad to hear he had rear ended someone in the car and now has curbed a wheel that it is cracked, the tire does not hold air and is not fixable. I've tried to help find a replacement for them, but it looks like the wheels is discontinued by XXR, and they might be SOL.

The Corolla is all good to drive even through winter, though it'll be her last winter as I'm definitely getting a daily driver next year.

The weather is surprisingly warm, I'm still on my summer wheels right now, even last year (mildest winter so far) already had me driving on the winter set around this time..

Awesome, sounds like you found a good shop.

The weather here has been cold, high in 30s, which is unusual for TX, but a nice change to get to wear my cute sweaters and jackets. The xB though we don't drive it with freezing temps, the condensation in the air tank and such can freeze, so we have only been driving the Lexus this week.

Can't believe the holidays are fast approaching again already!

We're still having great weather here, I don't think it'll get cold until december comes around.

I took the Corolla to the custom shop that did my airride today. They gave the Corolla a free check-up to see if the system was still working right and hadn't rubbed on anything through the last six months. the check-up only took like ten minutes and everything was in great condition, I ended up hanging out at the shop for a good two hours before I actually went back home though.. hahaha

It is a nice 70 today, but temps drop tonight as some cold front goes through, next few days will only have a high of 52. You will see the TX people pulling out coats like they live in Montana or something haha.

Nice one! The total donation out of my company was just over 500 euros in the end, as the managers doubled the amount that got raised.

It's still in the 70's here during the daytime, we've got a "warm" week coming up.

I washed and waxed my car so it's ready for winter, now I just need to wait for it to get colder so I can put the winter wheels on.

We are finally dropping to mid-high 40s at night here, but it's still in the 60-70s during the day. My mum is getting freezing temps at night in the mountains of AZ already though. I hope she is staying warm enough, I now the chemo she is getting makes your feel cold even more than normal.

I got my first donation for my 60 mile walk next year for breast cancer. I was happy about that!

It's about 55 degrees at best now..

That's just about warm enough to do things outside,
but just about too cold to do them for too long!

Yeah, I myself have never done an engine, it was actually quite interesting to watch. There are so many parts to it before you get to actual block.
My knowledge of things I do myself are things like an oil change, change the brakes or rotors, I've done axle replacement, hoses, battery...basically your general maintenance wear and tear type stuff.

We actually got a temp drop here in TX, been down in the 40s at night and staying in the 60s during the day. It's a nice change for 90 degrees a little over a week ago.

nice! I'd love to work on an engine but I don't think it'd be running after I had my hands on it! that sort of stuff gets a bit too technical for me, even though I'm happy that I can do more things by myself compared to a few years ago.

I'm currently refurbishing my winter wheels. there's not a whole lot of work that'll happen aside from that as winter is starting to come in and it's getting colder and rainier outside..

that's a great amount to collect for sure!

I'm getting some more work done on my car now, painting the "YOKOHAMA" and "W.DRIVE" letters on the tires white, and I'm probably going to put the stock lip back on the bumper because I've ripped through the paint on the splitter that's on the bumper now, oops.

No that is a fantastic amount! I've set up the food drive at work, and so far we have raised $1,224.00 dollars and 312 food items for the food drive, and the food drive is going until November 14th, so I still have time to collect some more. The company I work for does have 84 people working for it though.

Yes it seems like a large goal, but I've done it before, I set up a lot of car washes and bake sales, etc to help raise money for the cause.

I've got 15" 6-spoke alloys for winter ;) I put a picture of them on the team wall.

You've set quite a goal for yourself! Good luck!
My company is split in two facilities, and in total we've collected just under 250 euros for cancer research. I'm very happy with that amount especially since our CEO is doubling the amount. :)

ooooh, are your winter wheels steelies like most people do?

I finally set up my breast cancer 3-day team and officially am collecting money to do my walk in November 2015. My goal is to raise the amount required to walk for myself and everyone who joins my team....so it will be a fun, inspiring, but no easy task. I have 2 of us on the team so far, but with the potent ion of 5 or 6 at $2300 a piece :)

All of my weekends (and weeks!) have been stupidly busy once again.

I managed to collect a decent amount of money at work for charity. I'm happy about that.
And I was working on my car these last few days, figuring out if my winter wheels would fit on the car with the airride setup. turns out it fits but with millimeters to spare. I put a piece of paper on top of the tire and lowered my car. I managed to pull the piece of paper out between the tire and wheel arch so it's got enough clearance to be able to park with confidence in the middle of winter. Definitely happy about that.

Charities are good. :)

There's enough completely selfish people in the world, but luckily not everyone is that way.
the collection box came in last friday afternoon so I'm going to talk to my colleagues tomorrowmorning. and I'll have put some coins of my own in so they can hear it rattle. ;)

That's great, getting your co-workers to donate as well.
Right now I am running our food drive at work, people can donate food or money to the North Texas Food Bank. So far we are doing great, we have raised over $1000 and 150 items of food in the boxes. The food drive is going till November 14, so we could still get a lot more in.

I'm also setting up to run the Toys 4 Tots drive around Christmas as well as an angel tree sponsor, which is picking an angel off a christmas tree at the mall and buying an underprivileged child Christmas presents that they need and want. :)

Thanks :)

I hope that show goes well, it's a good cause to show up for.

The company that I work at joins a run against cancer ever year.
I'm a terrible runner so I don't join the run myself, but I do always donate towards it, in fact I'm going to try and convince my colleagues to put some money into the box as well tomorrow.

I've been stupidly busy as well but pretty much making time for these shows, the season is over now though.

I won another prize last sunday, four in total (out of 5) this season.
My car has officially hit 'show car' status I suppose. :)
