I have a protein and one fruit(from list) for breakfast
I have a approved fruit for snack
I have a protein and 2 approved veggies for lunch
I have a veggie for snack(usually grilled yellow squash or grilled zuchinni)
I have a protein and 2 approved veggies for dinner

By this time, also drinking 12 cups of water a day, usually 1 cup of coffee only,
I am so full I can't think about snacking after dinner.

The good side to this, by avoiding bread, flour, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn,
starchy veggies, I have had 2 attacks of acid reflux since Sept. 3rd when I started, and
both times were when I ate something not on my approved list. No butter either...just a
small amount of olive oil....

I have lost 36 pounds since Sept 3rd. and I am happy with myself. I feel better than I have
in ages. Let me know whatcha think???????????????

last nite had a big meeting. afterwards friends wanted to go out for coffee. it was the battle of the wills let me tell you, because this place has the best pie ever. instead i had eggwhite omelet with shredded parmasean cheese inside, i chose fresh fruit,4 slices of tomato, and yogurt. heres what i get the eggwhite omlet was just awful psst i make it better at home. the tomatoes were unripe,the fruit consisted of 4 grapes, 4 small pcs of melon which were unripe and i didnt eat. and the yogurt was so sweet i didnt eat any of this. i also asked for herbal tea, he brought me regular, i did get the honey and lemon. cost me over 12.00 and needless to say i did not leave a tip!!!!! pissed me off excuse my language. so the only thing i lost last nite was my 12.00 the food was crappy the service was crappy.

you know how many times ive fallen off the wagon and the wagon took off without me? quite a few. but i managed to catch up to it and jump back on. its ok if we splurge now and again, if not it would be so boring. lol

Water is not a problem for me (obviously!) I like to exercise 6 or 7 days a week, but the last few months I keep getting thrown off track by one interruption or another, and I'm having the same problem with food. It's looking like things are going to be calm here for a change, so hopefully I can get settled back into the exercise and eating right. Yesterday started out great--I had Kashi cereal and strawberries for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a smoothie for dinner. Everything fell apart after church last night when the teens had an appreciation get-together for their mothers. They had ordered pizza--I was trying to let all the kids go in front of me so hopefully the pizza would be all gone, but two of my friends caught me and made me move to the front of the line. I did stay away from the cookies, and ate veggies instead.

Good jpb on all the water and veggies.i had whole wheat tortillas diced chicken breast lettuce tomato shredded cheese onion salsa for dinner two glassez of water.

had 10 glasses of water today and a sunday lunch of chicken and tons of veg,,,,,,,,,no potato though and have limited myself to 1 slice of wholemeal bread a day.

am curious how many of you are practicing portion control? drinking your water? (bonnie you drink enough for all of us) emoticon eating lots of veggies? and taking a 1 a day vitamin/mineral plus calcium? getting at least 3 days of some kind of exercise?taking time for just you? please elaborate emoticon

i have been following this plan and it is working really good for me. no drastic weight loss just very slowly. my metabo is racing along an maximum warp speed. haha

as you all know its the drinking of water that is my downfall. but i keep trying. im at a point that if it has any corn syrup in it i avoid it like the plague. i actually bought some hunts ketchup that is now hfcs free!!!! mind you it cost a bit more but thats ok. im constantly looking for things that are hfcs free in the market. if you know of any let me know. K?

hey joanie, its so good to see you on here. im going to the pool on tues. my dy off actually i have 5 days off now. this is so wonderful for me!! now i have a life. sounds like you are having fun with those grandchildren. i get that at work there are some that i just adore.

i can hardley wait to get back to the gym. i can go anytime i like but i think they close on sat at noon may not have time to go we will see. but diffinitly will be there tues. i get the best workouts in the pool, and i love the hot tube it is sooooo good for my arthritis. my left ankle, and right hip. who knows these days i have old peoples pains everywhere. lol i was taking aleve arthris but its not as good as the aleve gel caps.
dont forget to drink lots of water but dont over do it.

Its good to be back Bel,not that Ive been out of contact with you,,,,,I have a very busy life at moment,,have the grandchildren 4 days and two night every wek,so they keep me active,,Im on track at the moment-will be allowed back swimming in 4 weeks,,so bring it on-dog walking and running around after my "Demolition crew"()Jake and Isabelle )lol.

nice to have you back with us joan. i think this will work for you. it has for me. now i have joined the gym again so even better and on weekends we will start riding our bikes again. so think we are on the right path. of course you know there are long and narrow crooked roads that will divert you to a scrumtious village of candybar cakes,sodas, and hamburgers. as i have said, im not depriving myself just watching my portions. thats why i like w.w. you only eat so many points and your done!! and now you dont get pointed for veggies or fruit. so im happy about that. and 49 extra points at the end of each week to splurge on a good meal with manny. woo hoo!!!

Bel, you have one thing in your list that I've found a lot of "experts" disagree with. Keeping the blood sugar at "sort of" stable levels seems to keep the metabolism going, so a lot of research indicates that you should have 4 to 6 small meals instead of 3 a day. They recommend that you eat at least every 4 hours during the day--just keep the caloric range low and the foods balanced.

Well if I knew that I would be making a lot of money ha-ha!

What works for me, is make a plan, make is short and doable and stick with it. If I notice a weight loss then I stick with it. I don't like gimmicky diets. Plus I like the support of my fellow mates and I like to give support. I think it is a two way thing and can be very good for sticking with your plan. Nothing better than when you say you have succeeded at something for someone to come along and say Well Done! Congratulations or I am proud of you. That is a great feeling and very motivational.

1. get mentally prepared before you start. (even if your starting over)

2. dont aim to lose any ore than 10 percent of your weight in six months. its just to dangerous.

3. include regular exercise in your weight- loss plan.

4. dont eliminate fat from your diet, but do watch how much you eat.

5. avoid snacking on bad foods. eat something good every few hours.

6. you can eat the foods you crave every now and then.

7. weigh yourself regularly. once a week.
