Hi. My name is Judi. I am 65 years old and living on Social Security. Tight budget. I am interested in being healthy on a budget. I have been on SP for a little over a month and have lost 142 pounds in about 19 months. Here to complete my goal and I have 1 pound to go. Am learning to cook for one and need all the input I can get on maintaining on a budget for food. Glad to be a part of the team. Have a great day! emoticon

I'm Jessica and a married 20 something. I was doing well losing weight on SP, then I took a 5% paycut earlier this year. So I am trying to find ways to keep up the good work while on a tighter budget.

Part of my homeschooling is about healthy eating. We measure foods, look at the science of why some foods are better for your health than others.

It has been awhile since hardly anybody has posted.
Just wondering how you are doing.
Home schooling is bound to be a challenge.
Do you Teach Nutrition as part of it?
You sure have resuroces here.

Hi!

I've been a member of spark people for over a year almost 2 years now..actually..i think..lol!
I'm 28, married for the 2nd time for 6.5 years now, have 3 children 10,6, almost 4 (next month) and one on the way (a total surprise).

I'm a Girl scout leader with a local troop, both my girls are in scouts. I'm also a SAHM, and will be starting homeschooling in January/February 2009.
Just too many issues with public school here and i cant afford to send to charter or private.

anything i can do to pinch a penny or stretch a dollar i'm gonna do. I've already decided to place an order with angel food ministries, as i can buy there for a month what it would cost me a week at the regular stores. of course i'll still be buying other things, but what i'm not spending weekly in groceries, i can use to help dig us out financially.

that's me in a nutshell..

Hi, I started Spark People about 9 days ago, but I had been a member twice before. the last time I was not a part of any groups, which is part of the reason I failed.

I recently took early retirement because I have medical problems that were interfering with my doing my job effectively. I am not disabled. With the events in the economy, I have lost about 25% of my retirement fund. I have always been a fairly frugal person, but now I really need to get down to business or go back to work.

I saw Angel Food Ministries mentioned on this site. I can comment more on that on that thread.

My name is Linda. I am married and my DH needs to lose as bad as I do. We have 5 adult children plus grandchildren and now a great-grandchild.

I raised my two daughters as a single Mom. I see a lot of you have that in common. One of my mistakes was, the really healthy foods were more expensive. We didn't do a lot of unhealthy snacking.

I am hoping that together we can combine frugal and healthy.

Hi my name is Carol, I'm a 42 year old single mom who is on a tight, tight (like my pants) budget. I have a blog on this very subject and when I saw this I thought emoticon people who understand what I'm talking about. I'm very passionate about this and look forward to supporting and receiving support.

Hi,
I'm a single mother of a 13 year-old boy (he turned 13 on 8/2). Right now I am on an EXTREMELY tight budget so I really need some help when it comes to eating and cooking healthy on under $50 a week. I know this doesn't sound like much to spend, but I have gotten pretty good at preparing meals on a shoestring budget that are filling as well as nutritious. Right now my main goal is to loose at least 25 pounds by the end of Novemeber. I joined Sparks because it offers me the motivation and support that I needed. I am the first to admit that exercise is not my forte but the fitness tracker and individual team goals have been a big help for me in the last couple of weeks (I have only been a member for 2 weeks and have just graduated to Step 2).

I'll start.
Hello, I'm Susan. I'm 48 yrs oild, and I stay home and homeschool my daughter. I help her with earning her Junior Girl Scout badges. She turned 9 today so I'm busy getting ready for a party at the park. Her church and homeschool friends will be there to celebrate.
It's very challenging for us to live frugally and eat healthy but we try our best.
I am so glad you all have joined me here!
