Not really sure if this would be classified as a site question, but we'll start here.

My cardio goals are 90 min and 730 calories per week. At minimum I do 40 min of cardio 3x a week and turbo jam comes up at 600 calories per workout. Once I enter the second workout, I get a message in red saying I've gone over goal by a significant amount and my calories will not automatically adjust.

My question, should I be increasing my caloric intake? I'm usually between 1200-1400 per day. I like my workout schedule and would like to start adding some to it, but don't want to do this the wrong way either.

HZCakes, I adjusted my goal and it left my starting weight as it was. I think you can change it if you want to, but it won't automatically change to your current weight.

On my sparkpage it says to change my goal every 10-15 lbs. so the calories will readjust to match my current weight. Will my tracker restart then (so I started at 190 and now I'm down to 181 if I reset my goal as starting at 180 aiming for 140 will my tracker start at 180)? I like to see that ladybug move along and I'd hate to have it start over every couple of months as if I hadn't lost anything.

I am walking for my aerobic fitness routine. I use a walking music program so I know that I am walking say a 17 minute mile.

I time myself... so if I walk for 40 minutes... that's what I put in... 40 minutes of walking at a 17 minute per mile pace.

So put the 19 minute mile under your favorites... then each time you walk you just click on that pace (or whatever timed pace you are walking) and enter the total number of minutes you walk.

AT LEAST that's what I do.

Okay, I have what my be considered a silly question. But, if you don't know, how do you know if you don't ask. So, here goes. For my tracking my fitness, I usually walk two miles and I walk the 19 min mile. So, when I track do I track it as 38 minutes for the 19 min mile or track twice or does it matter? Or am I totally off base here? emoticon Help!

We have been having a discussion about this very thing... some people putting a "1" in meaning they did their strength training for that one day... others estimating time... we're working it out.

I appreciate all your help in figuring this out! emoticon

Karen - if you are tracking a goal based on a team goal that was set up, just ask that team leader how to do it. I'm not sure since I don't track strength training exercises for any goals. Sorry.

Pamela.. I am not explaining myself I think. I do track in the fitness tracker -- reps etc.

But this is in the "other goals" tracking section. For some teams the nutrition and fitness tracking carries over. For others you have to manually enter the time or water drunk under "other goals."

That's where I am having a hard time knowing what to enter for strength training. Cardio is easy -- it's just how many minutes of cardio you do. But for strength training I am guessing it is also time spent rather than reps... but just not sure.

On the other goals page -- the goal comes up with a plus sign you click on. A second page pops up where you enter your number. I sometimes break up my strength training... and have never really timed myself.. but I can.

Question about tracking strength training.

I joined a group goal in another team that is about strength training (goal 2 X's a week..) and it is tracked in "other goals."

It has the little Plus signs you click on and then a space to enter your number. SO my question is do you enter time you spent doing strength training like you do when you have to manually track cardio? Or are you supposed to enter reps? number of strength exercises? not sure...

The lost xx pounds pics can be found by going to edit your spark page - then go to your profile pic and change the image - when that window pops up you can choose one of your own or from the SP Success Gallery - there are several to choose from there. Just click and you are set to go.

I have an exercise question. At first I was using the SparkPeople Strength Training, but I got bored of sit ups and push ups. Instead I've started doing a series of Pilates videos, which seem to me more like strength training than cardio. However, Pilates is listed as cardio. What I want to do is add three days of regular cardio and three days of Pilates. If I just do that through cardio it will say on my pilates days that I am not working out long enough nor burning as many calories as I intend. Can I have two separate cardio programs - one for less time and less calories for the pilates days and one with more time and more calories burned? Otherwise I can keep adding pilates without writing down that I expect it (I do kind of like seeing that I've gone over my expected calories and cardio minutes for the day).

DO a search for their spark page - if they don't have one set up, then there really isn't much you can do except spark mail them. Once you send a spark mail, it will ask if you want to add them to your address book.

How do I find a particular individual's sparkpage? How do I add to my address book? I tried but was told that this person didn't have an address, but I see her on my sparkteam often. Then I could not exit the address book until I rebooted my computer. I can't find help for this on site.

Go to virtualmodel.com (at least I think that is the site). Once you have photos - just go to your picture gallery and follow the prompts to upload photos from your computer

Did you try getting any updates for your computer from Microsoft's website? Go to Control Panel, and then on the left side click Window's Update. It will take you to Microsoft's site, analyze your comp for any needed updates and get them downloaded for you. Also, what browser are you using? Try using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, that's what I use and I love it. Let me know if this helps/works or if I can be of use emoticon

I don't know the specific answer to that question. But, there is at least one spark team here for Curves users - you could join the team and ask that question there - someone will be able to tell you how they track their activity.

I contacted support and they were unable to help me. I did what they suggested and the trackers still don't let me add. And of course I am fighting with myself to NOT let this stop me. It's such a bummer to know this AWESOME tool exists, and I can't access it. Especially when I have read so many inspirational stories about how the nutrition tracker is the real secret to the site's successfulness. (For weight loss, that is.) Hopefully, I will gain benefits in other ways...

First of all, welcome to SP. It sounds like a computer problem and that is out of my realm - try going to community at the top of this page and in the dropdown go to message boards and then look for the site/technical help section and post your question/problem there - someone from SP with some computer knowledge will help you out. Hi, I'm new and I can't use the trackers...nutrition or fitness. I can't add food or enter the cardio I've done. I notice a Java script error message when I try to click "Add food" or "Add cardio". The message says the "item is null"...I am so darn proud of my cardio and I really want to see my progress...

Yes - you can add any food (even if it isn't on the list) - just go to the nutrition tracker and click off the meal plans - then you just put in what you eat in the appropriate meal.

If it is your own recipe you have to click save and share. If it is one from the site that you found, just add it to your favorites and it should show up.

Hi Pamela, How do I save a recipe to my sparkpage and make it My SparkFavorites. I clicked SAVE on the recipe page and it only shows up in MY RECIPE BOX. Also checked mark the box SHOW MY FAVORITES on my sparkpage and save my changes and get nothing.

The mechanics of starting a blog are that you go to your start page and click add a blog entry and just start typing.

If you are wondering what to write - I would suggest that you read a few blogs - but look at this as an online journal. I remember that I was very intimidated by the whole thing when I first started. I have never kept any kind of written journal, but I love blogging. It doesn't matter if anyone is reading it or not, it just gives me a way of saying some things that help me out.

I have a quick question: how do you add friends? I notice on people's sparkpages that they have a lot of friends. How do you go about adding friends and is there some kind of protocol? (I'm picturing some kind of elementary/middle school scenario of going up to someone and saying, "Will you be my friend? Can I put you on my sparkpage?")

But all the magic I have known/I've had to make myself.

I am returning after a long time being away. I previously have used the nutrition tracker and loved it!For some unknown reason,I cannot get it to work. Can you help me. I am getting really frustrated. Could it be my computer? It will not let me get into "add a food" catagory. emoticon

The weight ticker can be found by going to Edit Your Spark Page and then scroll to the bottom of the page - you can choose the background and then an icon - it will update automatically when you post on the weigh in tracker. Hope this helps. If not, just let me know and I will try and explain a little more clearly.
