I seen a pic of myself and was in shock that I weighed that much. I mean I knew the numbers were too high but I didn't see them. I was also starting a downward spiral with my self esteem and knew I had to take charge of the way I feel.

I lost about 25 pounds a couple of years ago, but i wasn't exercising and the diet was pretty restrictive. Once I stopped following the diet i put back on about 90% of the weight. Last winter I bought an elliptical, which I was using, but not in conjunction with dieting. I knew I didn't want to put on anymore weight so I had to try something. I was looking for a calorie tracker on the internet and stumbled on SP. It has been everything I needed.

I turned 40 and I weighed more at 40 than I did when I was nine months pregnant with my second child. I was in shock.

For me it was buying some capris for myself as a Mother's Day gift from my Hubby - I wanted 3 different pairs and ended up with 3 different brands. 2 Brands fitted me still in a size 6 on the tighter side of comfortable but one brand I had to go with a size 8.

I've not been happy with my size/look for a long time but that was it for me.....I didn't want to give in and start buying new bigger sizes to be comfortable.

Question stolen from another board!!

Just wondering what was your turning point? The straw that broke the camel's back?

What made you finally decide that it was time for change - time to make a healthy start?
