I saw a video about the Chi machine, it sends energy through the entire body by moving the feet side to side while in a lying position which in turn flexes the entire body like a fish swimming through the water. Just thought I mention it because it probably has an effect on the meridian points also.

Tapping helped release anger issues, for which I am profoundly grateful. It is an amazing tool. I have let go of the past four years and am looking forward to creating my new life.

My DD treated me to a New Year's luncheon yesterday. Afterward she hung the large outdoor thermometer on the front porch! She is such a blessing. It was 2 deg this morning at 6:00! We are due to have some relief by next week--two days above freezing. I lived 50 years in a milder, wetter climate before moving here in May and have never experienced such cold. BUT I am sorta becoming able to function and will soon be going about my business like everyone else.

It is fortunate that today is a dry day so I can do outside errands. Temperature this morning is in the teens--ice is evaporating rather than melting. emoticon I need to bring in more supplies before snow comes in on Wednesday. I never get everything on my shopping list as fatigue sets in and I have to stop.

BTW, I added more cinnamon to my morning smoothie, and it is working to reduce inflammation in my knees. Comparing where my health was two months ago and today, the new supplements (Ribose, Glutathione, Curcumin, & Ubiquinol) appear to be helping, too. I do need to be consistent in taking them, along with exercise. Other people here go about their daily activities as usual in spite of the extreme cold. I wonder how long it will take me to become one of them. emoticon

I drove on ice yesterday with the temperature well below freezing! Of course, the main streets were cleared and the packed snow and ice was only in residential areas. The tires kept a grip and I felt safe.

The day spent with my DD was special as we talked about things we had not discussed ever. Her therapy dog (they were a therapy dog team at one time) is coming to the end of his days and we made it special--I even brought a steak for him. He is the only dog I know that is always invited to parties along with my DD. He is well loved in the neighborhood and is given Christmas gifts, too.

This was the only stress-free Christmas I can remember--I brought the fixin's and my DD did the cooking--steak, baked potato, salad. It is one I will remember with love and happiness.

Yesterday, my DD picked me up to go to the Mall. First lunch, then to Nordstrom Rack and then Macy's and one other store looking for a water repellant hooded raincoat without luck. (I will have to do with my current non-hooded coat, which is much better, except I have to use a plastic bonnet over a warm cap or earmuffs. That will look incredibly funny.) Then we dropped by Natural Grocers near the Mall--paleo and organic all the way--much easier to access and easier to find what I needed. Whole Foods is good, but difficult to drive to and from downtown. At the check stand, DD picked up two Paleo Magazines and showed them to me. They were added to the cart. It is a good thing that I was too exhausted to look at the prices or I would not have taken the Holiday Cookbook--$19.95! BUT am happy to have it as the recipes look delicious and do-able. The monthly magazine has some neat articles--one on "bone broth." Must try that if I can find the animal parts I have never used before.

The weather forecast for Christmas Day has the high temperature for the day at 30 deg and 18 the night before with snow and ice on the ground. It might be too risky for me to drive to her house, so I gave her all the foods for our dinner "just in case." (aka Plan B) I was a Girl Scout in my younger days and our motto was ALWAYS PREPARED! I do that to this day without even thinking about it.

That was my day yesterday. More errands today with a dusting of snow on the ground this morning, but temps are well above freezing--no problem. Walmart is ten minutes down the road.

Yaaaay! The dash cam and backup cam are working perfectly now! No relay or wires or torn up carpeting! I sent the car agency techs an email from Garmin how to get the cameras in sync, they followed instructions, and all is well. Great relief! emoticon

Now, if I could just make friends with the neighbor's dog, that would be good. He stares at me like I am a suspect! That stare is creepy! One day his leash may break! My DD gave me this advice: Don't look, don't talk, and don't touch him! That is good advice as my sweet talking did nothing to get a tail wag. emoticon

Homebound today due to icy streets! Tomorrow looks OK and will take my car back to the agency to have a relay and wiring installed from backup camera to dash cam. All supposed to work "seamlessly" when gear is in reverse. It will be a good thing to stay safe here.

I'm back to drinking green tea again instead of coffee. It was upsetting my digestive track. emoticon Beans are no-nos on paleo, could that have caused the problem??? Hmmmm.

Regarding supplements, I just started taking three recommended by Dr. Mercola:

Ubiquinol: Anti-aging benefit; for energy production in every cell in your body.
Glutathione: for tissue building and repair, and an immune booster.
D-Ribose: boosts muscle energy: improves chronic fatigue.
Of course, these are not for every body. Do check them out before taking.

These are in addition to Ginger, Garlic, Calcium/Magnesium, Vitamin D3, DHA, Curcumin, and Potassium.

My cereal: Yogurt (probiotic), Whey (protein), D-Ribose (for chronic fatigue), Cinnamon (anti-inflammatory), Cocoa Powder (anti-oxidant), Vanilla, and Honey (anti-biotic, immune booster, helps with allergies, and a sleep aid).

I may have found a sleep aid: at bedtime, I take two "OsteoGenesis ES" (BIOGENESIS NUTRACEUTICALS) capsules with vitamins and minerals and calcium and magnesium. Plus a glass of whole milk with a teaspoon of honey. My sleep has improved from three to four hours a night to 10:05 hours last night!

The info on honey to aid sleep is from an OLD book: "The New Science of Living and Healing," by Wallace D. Wattle. (Kindle edition.) I could not access the page about when it was first published, but I suspect it is from the early 1900s.

Confirmed, it was published in 1910.

It is 13 deg right now! I was just outside to take recyclables to the bins, pick up my mail, and turn in my rent check -- the ice ruts are treacherous! Had to find a way home that was free of ice. The longer I sit here, the less I am inclined to go back out. I still have food in the fridge to last for a couple of days. The temps are to get up to the 40s in a day or two. If my car's battery is still live, the car will work. Two more bags of trash/garbage are waiting to go to the bins, but they can wait, too.

Good morning. It is about 58 degrees outside right now. Got down in the 40's which is really cold for this area.

I picked up a touch of the flu over the weekend which laid me low, but I have some flu herbs from my holistic doctor so just kept taking them all day, and today, I feel pretty good. I also started using a castor oil pack on my gimpy leg as I read that it really helps with joint pains. I have used castor oil for years but not recently. But I still had some left and it doesn't spoil. So far, this morning, the leg feels a lot better. I also read that it is good for dissolving cataracts in the eyes, and as my dog is almost blind, I started putting a drop in each eye - it'll take time but I hope it helps him see again. No discomfort putting it in and he had no idea what I was doing.

Nice to feel good again. Lots to do around here. Good luck with your car.

Exercise appears to be the most effective thing I can do right now to improve my health and well-being. Gotta figure how I can get to the exercise room at the main building with the black ice on the parking lot pavement! I've been walking here in the apartment but that is about all I can do. Well, I WILL find a way. As my Mother would say: "Where there is a will, there is a way." Thanks, Mom.

I just googled how to reduce visceral fat and came up with improve sleep, avoid stress, eat better, and get fit! I have been working on all four separately, but not seeing results. The question arises--should I continue to target all four separately, or use "visceral fat" as the target? I would appreciate hearing from my friends here if you have had success in this..

The temperature right now at 8:35 a.m. is 18 degrees! The parking lot has areas which could be black ice. It looks like the frozen snow has evaporated. If I can get to the arterial, the road should be clear. It is the parking lot here and the road to the arterial that may be icy. Maintenance is supposed to clear the sidewalks and pavement. I will not risk driving until the parking lot looks dry.

Just on my second mug of coffee--ummmm so good and warming.

To improve my health after what the toxic whooping cough vaccine (aluminum) did to me:
--I set a timer for 10 minutes when I am sitting at my computer. When it rings, I get up and walk--sometimes on my tiptoes to strengthen legs and feet.
--I have added supplements to my diet to restore body cells to combat chronic fatigue (Dr. Mercola).
--I follow paleo/primal nutrition and lifestyle (Mark Sisson). It's working.
--I have eliminated sugar except for honey in my smoothies, as it is an anti-biotic, an immune booster, and from local areas, it helps the body overcome allergies.
--I have started "Tapping" (Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT) to work on negative emotions, weight issues, past hurts. It is amazing.

This change in lifestyle is working for me. Health is improving, balance is improving, also strength and stamina. I am profoundly grateful. The only thing that still needs improving is my sleep. I've done everything the experts have suggested--maybe the EFT will help that, too.

Go into You Tube and find some of Robert Smith's Faster EFT tapping sessions with a client. He has almost 1,000 on there. Tap along with him even though what he is tapping on doesn't relate to what your issues are. Your subconscious knows what you need and the tapping will release that. You don't need a script - just Release and Let Go is all you need to say once you zone in on the negative emotion that is bugging you. Do it over and over on the points and grab your wrist and say "peace". But aim for the negative emotion if you can. Let me know if this helps. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes sometimes it takes an hour, and sometimes you'll need to contact a practitioner who can go deeper than you can. I am not a practitioner, but have found two wonderful ones who have really been a huge help for me.

Just tap until the stress is gone. Tap for your eye and for your new job (the stress of finding the right job). You'd be surprised what might work for you. I have learned to tap for everything and slowly but surely, things are working out for me. Doesn't happen overnight usually, but you'll feel a lot better about everything once you can relieve that stress. Stress is a killer - just tap and let your subconscious take it from there.

I have just received a copy of the spark solutions book, but not sure how to get the points added to the total. I have also been down and busy at the same time. I went to the eye doctor yesterday and it looks like some part of the left eye is closed, so I will need to figure out what to question the new eye doctor in order to know whether I should go through some laser thing or to wait. I am also getting what I need done in order to know whether or not I am getting an interview or hopefully a job. My anxiety had been spiking at times as well. I am also binging and with sodas still and looking for work just in case it doesn't work out.

Yesterday, I went to an all-day Faster EFT event here in So. Calif. The two practitioners who organized this do what is called "crossfire" tapping where the two tap on you at the same time and really get to the heart of the emotional problem. I've been doing a lot of tapping, but felt I had hit a blockage that I couldn't get through. The guys called me up and I thought, oh well, I can't think of anything that is really charged - just hope I don't look foolish. But I no sooner sat in the "magic chair" when the emotions went totally nuts. Took the two of them about 1-1/2 hours to get through some big lifetime negative emotions -I was crying most of the time as one memory led to another and they had to diffuse them all. I was exhausted when I got home, but felt really cleansed. This stuff has been hanging on my brain for 70 years so I had a lot to get rid of. They are holding another two day event next month and I am invited back. What a lifesaver Faster EFT is for me!!!

It is quiet here for sure. I am also busy and getting homework done. I am also struggling with remembering the points due to my sight. Even though I am struggling with that I am guessing where some areas are and is still trying to get some tapping done each day.

The reevaluation is Friday and the physical Therapist is contacting my sergen, internist, and the last norologist. The reason for this is because of my balance issues that must of came before the injury. I haven't seen the nutologist since 2002.

I'll make sure to check Rick Wilkes, as i am very interested in the spiritual aspect of life, which actually give life its meaning.

It is so true that different approaches suit different people(.i tried faster EFT, with much stronger results than i had after hours of tapping with official Eft)

Interesting how different approaches suit different people. I looked into the Faster EFT, & found it didn't appeal. I read another few chapters in the anthology Freedom at Your Fingertips, & *really* liked the one on Spiritual Growth by Rick Wilkes; I'll be checking out his website. That's how I found Brad Yates, who wrote a great Chapter on Happiness.

I have been having a lot of panic attacks. I am also real close to becoming completely shy. I have been shy most of my life. I am trying to not think this way, but I cannot keep myself from having those thoughts either. My eating and fluids also need major help as well.

Today's tapping on old memories was much calmer--a lot less intense emotionally. I'm not sure I've "cleared" all the energy yet, but a lot of the pain has released around one particularly troubling memory. So: Progress!

Hi all......Just started tapping after reading about it on a Spark thread......Finding it to be helpful....I was an emotionally abused child....and have spent a long time trying to get over it and move on......My weight issues really do stem from not dealing with my issues appropriately....so I am finding some relief by practicing Robert Smith's techniques.....glad to see others are finding the tapping to be helpful! I'm sort of struggling to get back to routines (after vacation). I actually went to the gym for a workout today--the first time in 3 weeks. It wiped me out. I did some light tapping today. Sometimes when I work on the big stuff, and intense emotions come up, that wipes me out emotionally, & I can end up subdued for a bit. Or just the working on the really tough memories brings them to the surface, and it's hard then not to keep going back, or looking at all the ways they have affected me.

But I had sort of a success with tapping today. I've been bothered for years with various chemical sensitivities, and I've become open to the idea that those physical reactions may have emotional roots. So when the stench of the spray paint started seeping into the apartment through the door crack (they're doing outside painting; the walls were done during the week, but front doors took place today), I put my biggest fan on high and had it blowing down my little hall toward the front door, then went out on the back balcony for some tapping.

I used a phrase about being afraid that I would start reacting to the smell (I tend to use versions of scripts presented in Nick Ortner's The Tapping Solution), and touched on my fears and concerns and the possible symptoms I might experience. That morphed into some musing on the toxic environment in our family growing up--the lies and pretense that things were fine, when they weren't, and I was never really safe, never knowing when I was going to be hurt again. The cool thing is I never even got a headache from the smell! I can't say that was all because of the tapping, but I'm sure it helped.

I walked up and down our small road 2 times. This is the first time I walked on our road since the injury. I also did not need meds last night and emptied as well as loaded the dishwasher.

I've been doing some tapping on pretty damn painful issues and memories, and I'm not ready to go into details on that. My Sister and sisters will hear more of the nitty gritty next week at our annual 6-Pack gathering. But I've begun to share some of the uncomfortable stuff (in a blog I just posted) before I have it "worked out" or "under control"--which feels right.

I'm new & kind of bummed that there's not much activity on the team. My therapist recommended tapping as a possible tool, which my first therapist had introduced me to. I played around with it a little years ago, but just based on a couple of handouts. I'm in line at the library to check out "The Tapping Solution" by Nick Ortner, and I've seen the video, and read a cool little manual by Gary Craig. I have a bunch of questions, but can't afford to see a practitioner. I especially don't know if it's better to work on one thing at a time or jump around. Work on the small problems or go right to the huge ones--PTSD for me rooted in CSA.

I have broke my shin. This happened on Sunday and I went to Patient First on Monday since at that time we realized it was not a sprain. They took me to the ER by ambulance and had surgery on Tuesday. I have been home since Wednesday afternoon and had PT yesterday. The PT will be 3 days a week. I am using a walker and a splint. I see the dr.on the 9th. Right now I am only able to use my toes on the bad leg.

From what I am learning, I think that you almost need to do something every day, even if it is an affirmation - "All I Need is Already Here and More Is On the way." Look at Brad Yates' videos on You Tube - they are always very upbeat. I am using a modality called Faster EFT - it goes deeper and heals faster. The guy who started that is named Robert Smith and he has some 700 videos on You Tube. I like to work with the ones where he is working on someone - you tap along with that person and it works even if it isn't about what your problem is. I get lazy and don't keep it up, but I know this is the only way I will ever get all my weight off. I thought I had solved the problem, but it came back so I have to work on it some more. What you are doing is clearing out old bad emotions from memories of bad experiences in the past, and get them to where they don't upset you any more. I've had a rough life so it takes more than one session to hit everything. I also went to a practitioner for a session, and he really helped me, but right now I can't afford to go back - but I will when I can. So, I just tap along with the videos. It doesn't matter what you say - it's the emotion you need to get into and just say, Release and Let go of (whatever the emotion is - anger, abandonment, rejection, hate, etc., etc.) Best thing I can do for myself. I love it.

ONE DAY I CAME ON EFT, I HAD NEVER HARD OF IT BEFORE
I tried it for fun, and funny enough the pain when away, but i have fibromalgia, and pain ia not always at the same place but after a week i notice that it had help i just could not believe it
but naturally it came back, i just it is not a one thing you do ,
it is funny the word you have to use , i have a hard time to find what to say
as for the point they are easy to find , also do you have to do it every day to make it work or if it heal
do you have to keep doing it

Are you tapping with all that going on? Best time is when your emotions are at their peak. Let yourself feel the pain and emotion and then "Release and let go" over and over. I've been having sharp pains in my groin but started tapping every time it kicks in and it really helped. Go to Faster EFT on You Tube - this works so much faster than the regular EFT. Click on any of the videos where Robert Smith is working on someone and just tap along with him. I cannot tell you how much it helped me, even if what he is working on is not your problem. It works regardless of the problem.

I have had a rough day yesterday. I had to take Benadryl due to hives after breakfast. After I got on the bus I was falling asleep and then I went for candies since I need something to wake me up so I do not get hit crossing a 4 lane traffic street. After eating lots of them I fell asleep here and there and after leading exercise in a chair I fell asleep again. By 4:15 or so I broke out in my arm and do not know what from. I barely ate any lunch at all and I am very careful with my allergies. After work I made and ate dinner, played canasta, and went to bed. It took another hour to fall asleep and then I woke up in less than an hour later due to another nightmare. I had to call someone that I know is usually up at that time and have him calm me down enough to fall asleep.

Good morning from L.A. I am new to this board, but have been on Spark People off and on for the past 2 years or so. I just discovered EFT about a month or so ago, and have been tapping and getting rid of so much emotional baggage. I found Robert Smith's Faster EFT recently which really seems to get to the heart of the problem and works so much faster than regular EFT. But like everything else, I have to keep it up, and sometimes get lazy and don't want to do it. But it seems to be helping my sanity and I have finally been able to get a handle on the out of control appetite that I've had for so long. Being older, the weight is still refusing to go, but as long as I feel good, I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing. Brad Yates has a good video on increasing your metabolism, but I am hooked on the Faster EFT as it is so much more effective. I was posting on another site, but there are no forums for discussions like this so I am back with Spark People - yay.

Yeaaaay! I spent about an hour wlaking in the woods across the street from my place. I saw one dog, with a collar, who ran off once I spoke to him. It was fun. I also ate some flowers and buds from radishes planted in a deer feed area.

And, I do T-Tapp Total Back Stretch every few days. I need to do this every day; it helps a lot--gets me prepared to EFT. The T-Tapp is designed to emoticon move the lymph system well.

Dyer is wonderful!
Creating a vision board is a great idea; it's just that much more positive stuff going into your brain and into your body. The more you surround yourself with what you're trying to visualize for yourself, the more it can heal you.
I was doing just that when it all got ripped out from under me (what can I say...SHTUFF happens to me because I was born lol); I'm just now learning new ways to restructure my emotions. I'm sooo new to tapping (as of like a couple days ago), but I think it will be a favorite tool in my belt. I've felt great since I started tapping!
On that note, I think it's all about your intention; if you go into tapping concentrating on the "bad" memories and festering in them (not letting go), then you're just creating a powerful habit--stop now!!!!! Your intention should be to create a safe haven within your heart; a place where you feel secure and comforted and empowered and loving.

I completed a vision board with five women friends in January. At the center of my poster is the statement " I am living with intention." For me that translates to living in each moment, rather than dwelling or focusing on the past or future. I did a book study with a friend: Wishes Fulfilled: the art of manifesting by Wayne Dyer. One thing that stuck with me is to use I Am statements. Fr example, I am accepting ---- as she/he is, I am making healthy choices, I am open to receiving what the universe has to give me, I am in perfect help, etc., this has helped me navigate through my grief after a traumatic loss in my life 32 months ago. I find I can apply I am statements to all aspects of my life. Just some food for thought.

I am getting better, but I am still stuffed up. My cough is most of the way gone and I cannot use a decongestant. Today I am going to see my mom and grandmother. I will be needing to help deal with 2 people who needs help in many different ways and still pass my classes.

Simple red-raspberry leaf tea helps me not eat so much, or so weirdly. It probably has those ketones in it. I don't take it in the morning, and I eat low carb, but some carb, in the morning. Then, I drink a cup or two at least at lunch and usually at suppertime.

7 almonds work like an adult aspirin--reducing inflammatinos around the body. I put them in a blender with a couple of cups of water, a pinch of salt, and sometimes a half-tablspoon, or less, of sugar and blend it for about 4 minutes. A bit of fruit, or even 2-3 radishes is good instead of sugar.

I got a Rieki treatment a few days ago and it is helping my digestion, my muscle balance, and I just get more internal feedback generally. It took about 20 minutes. If you can, try this, and about 3 days on raw foods, maybe with one serving of cooked meat in the evening. That helps me a lot.
edit--it was Healing Touch, done by a Reiki practictioner. Really has helped--still learning from just the first treatment over a month ago.

And, when my gut is sort of bad, I just have a couple of meals of raw pineapple. That can create some soreness around my mouth, so maybe a smoothie with 7 almonds in it, and water, a pinch of salt.

I am not sure what is going on, but i am not up for anyhing not food, fluid, getting needed work done, soda, candies or anything. This does happen once in a while which is why the dr. said that i need to watch the depression. I am tired and want to lay down all day. This is a bad sign when I am addicted to candies and soda as well as have tendencies of overeating. I have not ate or anything except attempt to reach out and put clothes on.

I am struggling with my eating and fluids. I have been to the point that I do not know what to do since when I do good it doesn't last. I have also been to the point that I am not getting very far when it comes to bettier sleep and less anxiety.

I have been with a busy day. I am going to be back at the appartments not too long from now. I have also been packing, to BJs as well as swimming. I am still struggling with the fluids for sure. I did eat heathier then before though.
I have not been with the internet at the appartment, so I am not sure that I will have any for a while or not.

I have been super busy with the classes. I have also been wth anxiety, and also struggling with my food and fluid. My dad had recently just got out of the hospital due to back surgery.
