Thank you MBB! Yes I do bench press on the Smith machine, the only way I can do it; I currently bench 115, usually 3 sets of 5-7. But I always have my wrist guards on when I do(as well as wearing them all the time anyway) :)

Hi MSKIZ69, Great goals! You said increasing your BP would be difficult due to carpal tunnel. I have wrist trouble too. I don't know if it's carpal tunnel or what but it really does interfere with my bench press. What are you benching right now? Have you thought about using a smith machine? My old pt used to put those enormous rubber bands on the sides of the bar and attach it to the top of the rack (don't remember exactly how) when I would do my max bench press. It really helped a lot to increase my bench press and allevite my wrist pain. ;-)

I want to increase my lean muscle-because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn all day! :)

I want to increase my bench press to 140-150 lbs by years end which is going to be a challenge due to my weak wrists from carpal tunnel but I am going to do it! :D

And I want to be in the single sizes..I'd like to be anyway

Oh that's great to know I'm not alone in this struggle. I think some of it is just forcing myself to putting myself -- i.e. my work outs -- first. I'm a LOT better than I used to be (God knows) but want to improve. Tonight I only did 45 minutes of KBs and elliptical but when my husband was busy I ended up working out 15 minutes longer and felt great!

So my OVERALL 2011 goals (thus far) --

-- Make 1 hour of daily exercise the norm not the exception

-- Get to my goal weight (I actually thought I'd be a lot closer by now but hey -- one step at a time)

-- Starting snow shoeing (just got the shoes! Woo hoo!) and restarting kayaking.

It's funny how writing the goals down helps. I know it sure does for me each week.

Thanks for joining in! Nikki

I know what you mean...I worked out yesterday, planning on only doing my 3.5 mile run. After I ran, I changed my mind and decided to hit the weights. Before I knew it, 1.5 hrs. had gone by!!!

My resolutions are:
1. Lose 10-15 pounds
2. Run at least my half (3/6/11) and maybe a full marathon (Chicago Marathon usually around October)
3. Get more organized
4. Find a job!

Hey gang,

I'm just coming up with my resolutions and wanted to see what you have.

I know one I want to make is to exercise at least an hour a day. When you get into the actual work out, the time goes quickly and pays off in a major way.

And you?
