- Supervise Garden services squad - lop branches off guava tree - they are banging on the roof in the wind, keeping me awake

Thanks CA - it's been a good day - since DD2 couldn't come home to celebrate with me, my Energy Buddy flew down 1000 miles with her children and Dad to share my day with me :D

CA - good to see you back from the Conference. Yes - I think the flight parts of the journey will be the least harrowing. It's getting from the apartment, right across London to Heathrow, through Joburg airport changing flights, and return that's daunting. I suppose if one could just throw money at it and get a cab it might be OK - or involve friends, again.

Sheila - The airlines are well-equipped to deal with people who need assistance. I had to fly back with a broken arm once, and everyone was very attentive.

CA - she's hopeful - NHS website says flying 48hours post-op is OK but she has to see another specialist about the leg/ankle to remove stitches and provide a fibreglass cast. We will be guided by him - no arrangements to be made until then. Meanwhile, she has gone home and friends are going to rally around. She's in a lot of pain and not allowed to put weight onto that leg - crutches are another obstacle - not enough hands for carrying stuff :(

Working at convention from morning till night next 3 days, so my top 4 list will probably be Monday.

1) Teach morning and afternoon.
2) After morning class, get room ready for CouchSurfers this weekend.
3) After afternoon class, pick up altered jacket; get breakfast, clothes, and bag ready for tomorrow [when I leave home at 6:40 a.m.].
4) Get backpack ready for Monday's classes because may be too tired to do it Sunday.

How frustrating that your daughter wasn't able to have hers. Hope it goes smoothly.

Oh, I'm not resigning from the uni's until they kick me out. I've been Publicity Chair for the language teachers' association, and it's time for someone else to take over.

Sad day because a friend in Colorado passed away. She had suffered from a bad stroke a while ago so it wasn't unexpected, but she's younger than I am, so sad.

√ 1) Teach (get photos of students who were absent first week).
√ 2) Teach (get students to change their email addresses - my messages get blocked by their university ones).
3) Respond to blogs.
4) Rehearsal? Curves? Need to save my energy for a grueling weekend.

Thanks for comments - DD2 dislocated ankle, broke fibula, ruptured tendons - having surgery tomorrow. Not flying Friday - doubt if she'll be allowed to fly after surgery for some while.

Sheila - Young people are remarkably resilient, and airport personnel are used to dealing with people who are handicapped, if only temporarily.
Oncam - Hope that the mood swing shifts upward for you soon.

(DD2 broke leg yesterday, halfway through Tough Mudder in the UK - will she be able to get back to London for work, then fly to Cape Town on Friday???)

Oncam - Really sorry to hear about the depression. What I recommend is making a short list (no more than 4 items, but less is fine) of things you feel capable of doing. It may be as simple as wash the dishes or fold the laundry or walk the dog (not knowing if you have a dog). Even those little things can be a huge accomplishment when you're feeling depressed.

√ 1) Get back in touch with my "body" list since I really, really, really need to do something about my weight, and the support there would be one of the best ways.
- 2) Voice lesson? Teacher hasn't confirmed so I'm not sure if it's happening and am actually too tired for one.
√ 3) Curves (going today in spite of continuing cold, rainy weather).
- 4) Get all attendance sheets in order, including stars for students who completed homework, and copied onto USB stick.

Shorten your List.

Every day make a "to-do list." A Microsoft CEO shared with his employees his secret to success. He said every day he'd make a to-do list topped with 4 things that he REALLY wanted to get done. Then he'd throw away the rest of the list. If Microsoft's CEO can accomplish only 4 things in a day, what makes you any different? Start prioritizing yourself and you'll get the most important things done. The rest can wait til another day to be in the top 4.
