Hi Team,
Hope everyone is doing well. I am at a plateau in my weight loss. It has been 30 days with no loss. Thankfully no gain either. I have been checking back over my food choices and know I can do better. I will also amp up the exercise. Hopefully that nice warmer spring weather will arrive soon.

Hi Team,
Spring is just around the corner and I am so looking forward to being at my goal weight by the end of summer. 30 more pounds to go! What are you all looking forward to in Spring? I for one am ready to be done with winter. It has been a nasty winter in Northern IL.

Hi Team,
Hope everyone is doing well with their New Year's resolutions. I hear that statistically most who vow to loose weight for the new year quit dieting and exercising by mid-February. Let's not be a statistic! Keep moving, keep tracking your nutrition and exercise. You can do it!

Hi Team,
Hope you are all doing well. I am recovering from a busy Thanksgiving and black Friday shopping trip to Chicago. I must have walked all over that city! I actually lost weight over the holiday and am now down 17 lbs!

I am guessing you are all busy clipping those coupons and stocking up for the holiday feasts!
I am gathering up recipes for turkey leftovers. Do you have any good ones to share?

I think we are all doing great because as we work through this process we are realizing what needs to be changed, what is working well for us, and where our focus needs to be. None of us can be perfect in our choices 100% of the time but if we just vow to do our best at each meal we will make progress!

I am excited because today I am wearing a shirt tucked in (first time in 2 years) and feel comfortable about how I look and feel with the shirt being on the inside instead of covering up the outside. losing 9 pounds has really made a difference in how I look and feel about myself. I know that the first 10 lbs are the easiest to loose. The rest will be much harder. I am very thankful for all the support I receive from this team, it makes all the difference!

Hope everyone is having a great week! I am celebrating the total loss of 9 pounds in 60 days!
My monthly goal is to loose 5 pounds per month until I reach my goal weight and then maintain. I have been working out like crazy with a toning class twice per week, yoga class once per week, Zumba class once a week, and walking on non-class days. I have been staying within my calorie range over the last two weeks and feeling pretty proud today!

For me weekends are the most difficult with my eating. I am fine throughout the week and very focused on weekdays. I am really committed to my exercise program and have not missed a single class. However, Friday evening through Sunday are really tough. I think it is the time that I most miss not being married (divorced 07/2013). The kids ages 19 and 16 have their own activities and friends to hang out with and 90% of my friends are married and spend time with their spouses during the weekend. Even though I have plenty to do around the house to keep me busy, I somehow manage to end up in front of the TV watching the Lifetime Movie network and over indulging on whatever is around. So not good as it keeps me at a standstill on my weight loss. Everything I work hard for during the week is lost by the weekend.

I had a great day yesterday! I stayed within my calorie range and completed my 60 minute Zumba class emoticon

This morning I was up early for my 5:15 am workout warrior class emoticon emoticon emoticon

After class I put my meal planning to work and got stuffed green peppers in the crockpot for dinner tonight. emoticon
Knowing I will have a good meal waiting for me at home after work makes it so much easier to not want to dine out or raid the refrigerator as soon as I arrive home.

For me pre-planning is a necessity!

Fall is my favorite season and I am enjoying trying out new recipes and the fruits and vegetables of the season. For breakfast this morning I had apple slices with light caramel apple dip. last night I had a baked sweet potato at dinner and today for lunch I am having homemade chicken salad which includes sweet red and green peppers. Luckily our office has a toaster oven so I can toast a slice of bread or half a bagel and make this open faced and top off with a slice of cucumber and tomato. Dinner tonight will be grilled chicken and grilled mixed vegetables which includes summer squash, zucchini squash, and a few mixed peppers.
I find I eat healthier if I menu plan and shop accordingly so that I have healthy ingredients at my fingertips. I also get a lot of great recipe ideas from "cooking Light" magazine.

Yikes, after being informed of the final total cost for both cars tires (4 for each), allignement, shocks, struts, and other minor repairs ($2,400) emoticon
I ended up at the steak n shake drive thru for breakfast (half order of biscuits and gravy)
emoticon emoticon

I will now be walking all weekend to work that off even though both cars will be good as new.

My day is not going so well ...............................
I found out yesterday that both of my vehicles need new tires $$$$$ and one of the vehicles also needs new shocks and struts $$$$$$$$. emoticon

Trying very hard to stay away from chocolate right now emoticon

The most frustrating thing about this is that I just purchased those same things in June for the vehicle that my EX got to keep per our divorce settlement.

Good Morning Everyone,
Just wishing you all a great sunshiney day! I am still a little sore from that early morning work out warriors class yesterday. I have Zumba class tonight which is my absolute favorite way to exercise! I also wear a pedometer and try to get in 10,000 steps per day. My pedometer is not the best and I am hoping to upgrade to a Fitbit soon. I am curious about the new fitbit bracelet. I think it would be much easier to wear than the waist clip pedometer.
Have a great day everyone! emoticon

I took my daughter dress and accessory shopping at the mall for homecoming. At Macy's. I was able to combine a clearance sale, 20% rewards card discount and $10 off $30 purchase coupon to get her dress originally priced at $140.00 for $11.97 emoticon

While we were at JCPenney's we stumbled upon a $2.97 clearance rack of sportswear/workout clothes as well as a $1.97 clearance rack of swimsuit tops and bottoms.
Lucky for me I had a 20% off entire purchase coupon that was in the newspaper and we walked out of the store with (4) total swimsuits (8) pieces), (2) pairs yoga pants, (1) pair capri exercise pants, (3) exercise shirts for $27.00 plus tax. our receipt showed that we saved a total of $290.37!

We were able to find earings, bracelets, and hair accessories all at $1 to $2 each.

Yesterday I helped my sister pack up her things and move out of her apartment. She's flying to another province so she wants to get rid of most of her things so it doesn't cost her even more money to ship. In the end, I ended up getting a new bike out of the deal and lots of dry groceries! Now I get to see what I can do with all of these new, random groceries! Meal plan here I come!

Hi. I got a great deal at Target the other day on dog treats. The big size bags of Beggin Strips were marked 2/5.00. I had a couple of the 2.00/1 coupons and a 1.50 off 2 coupon so I got 4 bags for 5.50 plus tax. This should last us a little while which is good because we are training our puppy.

Hi everyone, just joining your team...I coupon as much as I can and I thought I'd look for a group here on sparkpeople...If anyone shops as Kroger because of double coupons...I heard today that the Th will be the last day they double...extreme couponing show has ruined couponing for everyone I think.

Hi
I just joined the team and am hoping to learn how to save money so that I can support my family better. I am 61 but I believe old dogs can learn new tricks so I am going to try to learn to save money via coupon use. Nice to meet you all. Write to me with anything you can share. Have a great day.

I just joined this team, and I'm wondering if it's still very active... I've been couponing for about 2 1/2 months now, and I'm really having fun with it. I love getting good deals and getting things for free. I've got a decent stockpile going and have been able to help family members by giving them items from my stash. My favorite stores are Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, and Publix. So I hope this team is a little more active than it looks, and I look forward to meeting all of you.

I will try to post here several times a week. I am doing well with my eating, though I made scones on Sunday and I know better than that. I just don't have the willpower yet to keep things in the house that I love and that are not healthy for me.

Tomorrow I will make a run to Aldi and stock up on all the fresh fruit they have on sale this week. Clean it, wash it and have it ready for snacking or to add to a meal. Unfortunately Aldi doesn't accept coupons, but their prices are already the lowest, so I understand. I brought home about 20 coupon sections from Sunday papers (from work), so will spend tomorrow going through and cutting them all out. I love couponing and stacking and finding the best deals around.

Have a great, successful week everyone!

Well, I suppose it's about time I introduced myself! I signed up for this group, gosh I don't know when, maybe it was January? I've been on sparkpeople for 2yrs I think. I've been kinda yoyoing with my weigh loss since my husband was in Iraq. I lost 25LB while he was there. Then he came back and I put it all back on and then he went to Afghanistan and so last year in January I started going to the gym every day during the week when my kids went to school and I worked so hard , 2hrs a day, 20 min on the elliptical,2 miles treadmilland 15 miles stationary bike, and toned up good, but weight was not coming off and then I cought a cold....now that I think about it, I cought a cold in March last year and again in March this year? I'm seeing a trend! And so then I didn't go anymore. So then he came back from Afghanistan in May and then we had orders to move to Biloxi and so I dealt with some purging of stuff for a self move and I lost a ton of "baggage" in the way of STUFF and 10LB to boot! Then I gained 5 of it back since I've been here and I keep yoyoing between 205 and 210. It's tough.
In January I started getting more serious about my couponing. I've been using coupons for years but I would average about $30 a month savings.
This year, I have saved around $800 or $900!! I haven't tallied March yet,so that's an estimate. For jan/feb, I was just a little bit shy of $500 saved with coupons! How awesome is that? And this week alone, I saved $159 with coupons! My best week ever! Up til this week, my best had been $118 in a week. I'm definitely getting good at it. I already printed at least 50 coupons since Friday!
I'm currently at 205 and really hoping if I keep at the couponing, I will soon start to lose more weight. I have found one thing....since I'm alway looking for coupons or cutting/sorting coupons, I'm not snacking on mindless stuff! YAY!
Now here's a real shock to the system. March 10 I went to the dr. for a mammogram. I never got it. Instead I found out I was pregnant. This was my 7th pregnancy. I have 5 children. My 6th pregnancy 4yrs ago ended in miscarriage at 13 weeks. That child would be 3 this May. So I walked round like a deer in headlights for a couple days, then told a few friends, but ultimately we decided not to tell family unless I made it far enough not to miscarry. Well, within 6 days of finding out I was pregnant, I lost the baby at 7 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago. So now I have to once again think about continuing this journey of trying to lose some weight. For the past year I have said I WANT MY BODY BACK!!! I USE to be 101 if you can believe that! YEP, when I joined the Air Force back in 1986 I was 101 and they said I was underweight and totally screwed up my eating habits and I really blame them and have for years!! I gaind 20LB that first year and it seems like the weight has piled on with each baby. Figure 5 kids, 50LB and right now, I'd be thoughly thrilled if I could lose 50LB even though that would put me at 154 and not nearly as thin as I use to be but just to break down below 190 would be awesome. Ultimately I'd love to be lke 145. I could live with that! Heck, right now I could live with 170!
So anyway, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a military mom of 5. My kids are 22, 18, 12, 11 and 8. I love coupons. I sew, quilt and do machine embroidery. I'm self taught on the piano too and love to garden. For everything I do, I should not be 205! The weight just doesn't want to move no matter how careful I am with my food. I know that my age is against me too. I'm 44. So that's my intro. Hopefully I will try to get on here more often.

Hi simple-dimples. MMM sounds goods, but I hope that is not all in one night. (I could probably eat all that at once though)

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I was hoping to find a buddy or someone to hold me accountable. I'm having a hard time with cravings and late night snacking. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi All,
Just checking in to see how everyone's Thanksgiving was. I had a much harder time then I thought I was going to with all the temptations around. I have been doing pretty well with the leftovers though. So far I have made Turkey salad, turkey wild rice soup, turkey enchilladas, turkey noodle casserole, and turkey/swiss corssaints. I still have more leftover turkey to use but I think I will freeze it as we are turkeyed out!
I am planning on an Arby's regular roast beef for lunch today. Much better than a burger and not poultry!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Carolyn

have been exercising on a daily basis. Mon, Wed, Fri interval weight/strengthening class, TU & TH Yoga class, and SA & SU cardio at Cardinal Fitness. I am very proud of myself this week. Yesterday I went with a friend to Chicago on a Christmas shopping trip. Macy's had an excellent 1-day sale. While we were in Chicago we ate at the Cheesecake factory. I ordered half size meal and did not eat appetizer or dessert. Let me tell you those 41 types of cheesecake were very tempting. I was able to walk away and by the way walked a lot all over Chicago. Whoo hoo for me!

Today is day 5 of my new journey to re-commit to weight loss and I have a lot to celebrate this week. I have made it to my 5:15 am weight interval training class on Mon, Wed, Fri. I have made it to my Tu, Th 5:45 am Yoga class, and have kept within my calorie limits. I am celebrating, not with food but with a weigh-in tonight! Whoo Hoo!

Just joined...hoping that this group is actively posting and staying in touch. I need to stay motivated to exercise and eat healthy and love couponing, so I thought this group would be a good place to start. I consider myself a black-belt in couponing at CVS and RiteAid. As for grocery stores, I've moved to a new town recently, so I'm still getting to know this area.

I decided to put my goals for the summer in writing!
Goals:
1. write a shopping list and stick to the list at the store!
2. Watch coupons and specials to make my list (save lots of money!)
3. lose at least 10% of my body weight, hopefully more!
4. Exercise everyday!
5. Stick with the south beach diet!
6. Be positive!
7. Smile and laugh more!
8. organize one area in my house a week, even if it is just a drawer!
9. write in my journal everyday! (trying to do this before bed every night)
10. Keep in contact with friends and not let life get in the way!

My crown is finally behaving! I still have issues w/ it but I'm thinking it just sensitive from all the work that was done...my face was literally swollen from it. Hope your little girl is doing well too!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

I had my last wisdom tooth taken out...oh man I still hurt and that was over a week ago! My poor little Sami went to the dentist yesterday and instead of doing the planned work they had to take her tooth out...poor thing. Glad we caught it before it started to hurt her. She is going back in a few weeks to get a spacer put in. (yeah it was a baby tooth, one of my pair of 5's)
Julia I sure hope you get your crown fixed.

I'm here. Still trying to find my way around SP. It takes a lot of time tracking nutrition and weeding through all of the e-mails. Sorry I haven't checked in before now. I'm on track and doing well. Just turned 50 yesterday and have a stronger and more determined than ever attitude about losing. So far I've lost 15 pounds, but that includes what I was before joining SP and since January 25.

Blessings, Denise

Well I am finally back! I had a busy weekend off and then catch up day yesterday! Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Welcome SOULMATE94 and MONTANAANGEL!

Soulmate 100 pounds seems like a lot but remember to take it one choice, one day, one pound at a time and you'll be there before you know it.

MontanaAngel I used to be bad at mindless snacking once I came home from work and ate dinner. Now I go to the gym right after work, come home and eat dinner and then prepare for bed. The routine really helps and hitting the gym always makes me feel like I've accomplished something making it that much harder to let myself snack. If I do feel like snacking I'll make some tea and just make myself go to bed. You can do it and you're on the right track by identifying that just replacing the type of food wont work you also have to figure out the cause...boredom, anxiety (that was it for me) or hunger...

I just joined the team today. So I'm very much hear ready to lose some weight, and save some money. I've finally gotten the workout consistency down, now I'm trying to work on the late night munching. I need to find a way to break that habit not just trade in junk food for healthy food. Anyone have any suggestions to totally stop eating late night?

I agree w/ you about the time change Red...it sucks waking up w/o sunshine...And to make it worse the last two mornings have been gray and icky...today we even have snow! Ugh! Good luck w/ the stealth cleaning Cat...its always fun to do w/ a sleeping partner.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Good morning team. I'm off work today so of course it's raining cat's and dogs. Guess I'll be quietly cleaning house since my fiance just got home from work and will be getting his beauty rest most of the day. Have a good one. Thanks Julia.

Glad to see you back Cat...I was worried there...The flu can be nasty.

I'm yawning my way through the day trying to adjust to this time change.

Good morning gals. I'm off work today but fiance worked last night and is sleeping most of the day so I'm trying to put together a stealth mode exercise routine which means no music!!Looks like lots of sit ups and butt exercises, God knows I need those. Have a good day.
