I loved your post. It puts a whole new perspective on what disgusting really is. I am always calling myself a cow...when someone finally stopped me and asked what a cow really was. I certainly don't look like a cow, or have any of the cow habits...so, I guess I'm not a cow!

So I've found myself checking the coupons in the paper before I buy because things are so tight...again nothing good enough for me to buy the paper.

Well I'm getting ready to take my little friends shopping. I hate to leave them with someone else but they have to leave the binder eventually.

Well, you have the life, Girl, I had to hurry up in the A.M. take a shower, run to my sisters house for our bi-weekly Sunday breakfast, go over to my brothers house and wait for 4 large men to move a freezer to my house, go back to my house, clean the freezer, plug it in, do the laundry, fold, iron and get ready for Monday's work. So Monday morning that is when I get to clip my coupons. I can't wait for the work week because it is less congested.

Well I've had my first cup of coffee so it's time to drive into town(11 miles away) and get my 3 papers so I can come home sit down with my other cup of coffee, search my ads for good deal, clip my coupons and watch football while waiting for my chili to cook in the crockpot. I love Sunday.

BetterJulia, a coupon train is a group of people who send each other their unused coupons. Say you live in Ohio, like me. You may join a train of say 7 other people from Ohio, WV, Pa, and Ky. Each group may have their own agenda as to what coupons they send. Maybe it is a train for baby needs or pet needs only. Others may be for anything or no pets/baby coupons. If you want more info on how/where to get started pm me with your email and I will be glad to give you more info.

I just joined but I love to cut coupons and I need to travel 30 miles to Vermont (from upstate NY) to get double coupons on my products but I also save on gas while I'm there. At least .30 cents cheaper per gallon, double coupons and save 3 percent on taxes, It all adds up. My husband and I enjoy our time together with the beautiful mountains, in the summer there are people having garage sales, fruit and veggie stands and we enjoy each others company. All in all we just enjoy going.
I would love to join... The only coupon train I belong to, is a neighbor and I switch left over coupons with each other. Is this what you mean?
Please tell me more.

Join a coupon train, check us gamers out, or you can also try writing or emailing those companies and ask for some. If you are praising the product they are sometimes very generous with them. Are you doing they game?

These are things I have to buy because that is all my husband likes but I never can find a coupon for them..... Help any ideas?

Oh no, I don't go shopping on Black Friday unless I want to land in jail. I despise ruedeness and my mouth would be shooting off. I learned a long time ago to just stay home. It's just safer for other people that way. hehehe.

This past Sunday there were hardly any coupons at all. Most likely due to black friday being this week, but still.... Is anyone else going shopping on black friday or thanksgiving night?

There were some decent coupons in my Sunday paper this last time, I saved quite a bit. The paper before that there was next to nothing, and I am guessing this time there won't be much either. I like to buy store brand items at Walmart when the coupons are slim.

So there were lots of coupons in my Sunday Paper this week. I suspect that next week there won't be any. I have noticed that the Sunday of a Holiday weekend usually has slim pickings. I wonder why they do that?
So this week I found some useful coupons for soup, cereal, paper products, cleaning products. This week my store will double 3 pet coupons up to $3.00. They have several brands of cat food on sale and I have $1.00 coupons on 2 of them, so I can stock up on dry. I have a $2.00 coupon on Whiskas 24 pack (not on sale) but with it doubled I'll at least get it for 1/2 the normal price.
I didn't see too many great sales this week. Not enough to base my entire week's menu around that's for sure! But Perdue Oven Stuffer Roasters are on sale for .88 lb, and shrimp is on sale for a decent price so I can do stuffed chicken one night (save some meat for sandwiches for lunch)and I'll make shrimp scampi one night?
I bought a bunch of things from the farmers market on Thursday - spaghetti squash, acorn & butternut. So I'll work the rest of this weeks meals around them.

Actually the store closest to my home doubles all coupons up to a dollar...BUT, we are so far out in the boonies that even with sale prices and double coupons, they are higher priced than the regular store prices down in the real world! LOL
So I do my shopping down near where I work. They have 2 major chain markets only a block apart who try to out do each other every week. So I compare the flyers between the two and take advantage in any way I can! LOL
I always keep a cooler in the back of my car and those "insulated space" bags so I can keep the food cold on the hour commute home!

I love Sunday mornings too for the same reason. I just got through clipping. I did my sipping much earlier. You are one lucky girl to have a store with such awesome awesome deals. I think the stores in my area are still in the dark ages when it comes to deals.

I just love relaxing with the Sunday paper and my coffee! Ahhhhh.....
This week my local Grocery Store offers to double any 3 mfr. coupons up to $3.00!!!
AND...they have a special, $1.00 off every $5.00 in produce!
So on my grocery list this week I'm going for the following:
14 oz Red Pack Tomatoes (any variety) on sale 3/$3.00 (I have $1.00 coupon that I will double, getting me the 3 big cans for a buck!)
26 oz Swanson Stock (any variety) on sale $1.69 (I have a $1.00 coupon - I'll double and get it free!)
In the produce section they have on sale
2lb of carrots or 2lbs of onions 2/$3.00 and red potatoes .99lb (I'll get 2lbs each of all three and get the $1.00 discount! Total spent $4)
They have whole frying chickens for .99lb so I'll get one or two small ones of those.
I have a coupon for $2.50 off 2 Hershey's Bliss chocolates and the store has 30% off all Hershey's candy! So I'll get 2 bags, double the coupon and stash them away until Halloween!
I'm going to break out the crock pot and make chicken & dumplings one night!

Well I'd starve if I tried to make a menu with the meager choice of food Q's today. I'm glad you have some good ones. I'll just use my stockpile.

The coupons I found this week that I'll use to plan my menu for the week:
40. off Minute Rice (I'll get the brown rice) 1.00 off 2 Ragu & 1 pasta
My local store has chicken breasts on sale $1.69 lb. so I'll make chicken cacciatore one night and chicken and rice one night. Bay scallops are on sale for 4.99 so I'll do scallops and pasta one night.
That takes care of three nights!
What did you cut from your coupons to use this week?

This Mediterranean dish got a makeover from Chef Meg. She added flavor with parsley and capers to cut the salt, reduced the cooking time and used hearty plum tomatoes instead of canned.
