I don't see why not. Look at postmen. They walk 20 miles some days. They are certainly more fit for it.
I don't know that your "exercise" miles should be the only ones used on the site.
The site was created to track the activity and exercise habits of people for the Government (notice the capital G) and it is a great carrot.
Mowing lawn is exercise. Walking at work or anywhere else is part of our 10,000 steps a day that is recommended. The recommendation isn't 10,000 steps of walking for exercise. It is 10,000 steps.
Our activity level is important. If you walk 20,000 steps in a day (10 miles) and report it on the site, it counts. You did walk the miles. You will still be stronger and healthier for doing it.
