And now it is June....I guess this forum has been abandoned? Or does no one have anything on their mind? Oh well, just checking in and letting you know that I am not around here yet ....still have an orchard to plant and digging out for an outdoor fireplace, and more veggies to plant...but I assure you I am sweating and working out by blood sugars for the most part are lower...as long as I get my sleep! And today I start an exercise class at the gym plus go to a DAR meeting this evening...busy time getting things done before my visit in July with surgeon...AND getting info and preparing for new bathroom! So as one Sparkie stated...the time I am not Here on the forums I am out working to reach my goals! Take care I will be back as soon as these things are further along!

emoticon It appears that I am the only one who has posted since the end of April...well that said... emoticon Hi to everyone but now I have to say... emoticon Hi Everyone, now it's my turn to go MIA! I dont plan to be around here much...doing pruning of dead wood in my bushes...over 12 feet high...things got away from me while I recouped from surgeries these past 3 years and I am trying to play catch up before I see the surgeon in July...need to get veggi garden in and my new dwarf fruit trees plus we have plans to renovate the bathroom so what time I have will be spent working outdoorss as much as possible...Just spend 3 hours on my dogwood thats just cutting and pulling still have to take care of the debris. Laundry all on clothes line, all my veggies in pots watered and I am tired but still have to do banking, bookkeeping and filing before I start dinner...So now you know why you wont be seing me. until I get caught up I just have to use all the time I have between now and July to get things completed....Yes I am testing, yes I am watching what i eat but it takes too much time right now to check in with all my groups so I am not gonna stress but get outside, get these things done and who knows maybe the fresh air, exercise and stressfree environment will work where the gym hasn't. Enjoy Memorial Day!

Hi everyone...I have been working in my yard, moving bricks as we are moving our outdoor fireplace, moving hay/straw to uncover plants, etc. Hanging clothes on the line, etc.
I am bending, stretching, reaching, weight lifting, etc...gardening is such a workout I fall into bed and sound asleep within 5 minutes!

Good Morning! The rain came, the wind blew and the grass is turning green...all the snow is gone! There is a soft haze on the forsythia bushes, the crocuses are up and the daffodils are making their way to the surface. The maple trees and rhododendrons have buds that get fatter every day...soon Spring will burst forth in all its glory...perhaps even on Easter!

Yesterday I scrubbed wastebaskets, my broom and mop, etc plus the kitchen and bathroom floors and then waxed the kitchen floor...I was tired but I went to the gym and then made salmon in foil with red and yellow peppers and onions with lemon juice and pepper over them...served with asparagus and ice cream for dessert (needed those carbs!) emoticon

My friend had a procedure done and now can eat a medium diet. If all continues to go well for 3 months, her stomach tube and upper pick line will be removed. Leaving her a very happy lady, to be able to eat just like everyone else.

My friend M is flying to Toronto early (6am). Her appointment is at noon and tests start soon after. She is wanting surgery so she can eat regular food again.

She is being fed through a stomach tube, only can have sips of Ginger Ale and water to
drink....strained cream soup, lemon jello, and a special type of pudding. Her pancreas won't allow anything else. The pain is excruciating.

Just click on the link I included in previous post. It has all of the info. It kicks off on Nov 1st. and Leslie will be (I believe) posting what to do each day, what exercise video to do or how many miles. Do you have a Facebook account? She has a FB page and there she gives more details to this challenge. That's where I got it from.

My friend M. has been waiting for her trip to Toronto ON, to get 2nd opinion on her pancreatic problems. Her last hospital stay was 5.5 months. She has a stomach tube for feedings that go straight to the stomach.

Her apt got canceled, after waiting over 6 weeks. Frustrated for her. She had a procedure done last Thursday, should be a go now. No new appointment yet.

Yeah! So I did two of the SP Cardio Blast DVD 10 min segments.

Although it is 10 mins it kicked my butt doing 2 of them.

You guys should try it.

checking out the exercise videos availabe here on SP. They are actually pretty good at getting that heart rate up. The ones where you're jumping around I cannot do because of my knees. But in the future I hope to be able to do them. Alot of educational stuff in the videos Coach Nicole has posted.

Marsha,

That's the same thing that I do. I have a pocket weekly calendar that I take with me to the Y and jot down all I do and how much I burn and time spent. It is a great way to keep track of progress.

I went out & bought a 70 page notebook. At the top of the page I write the week, for example 3-14 to 3-21. Then down the left I write Sunday all the way down to Saturday. I give each day about 4 lines space. Then as I do my workout I write down what I did and how long. This way when I get ready to put it in the computer I have this info ready. This is really helpful since I don't always have time to log my info in right away. I also put in my weigh-in on Saturday each week so I can see that in print in front of me.

Tuesdays & Wednesdays I have practically no time for the computer, especially Wednesdays. I have been working out and watching my food though and hopefully that will help me with a loss on the scale Saturday.

Ewww! I'm still feeling kinda yucky today. That cough that my little one picked up about 2 weeks ago is still lingering, he passed it to me and Istill have it then my other 2 have it now too. So, we're all coughing our heads off. You should have seen us yesterday morning before school! Okay kids, line up. Take out the medicine and have an assembly line next, next, next. Mom!! You're gonna use the same spoon on all of us, you're gonna pass germs!!! Really?? We've all already got the same thing honey. Now take your medicine. LOL! Gonna try to take it easy today. Some good specials at Walgreen's gonna go pick up and then hit the grocery store and then come home & relax for awhile. Then wash clothes & cook dinner. Not too bad of a day.

I love it Marsha! I think I should also start seeing me slim. It is been so long I don't think I recognize myself. LOL! That is awesome that you didn't allow the way you feel to interfere with your commitment to yourself. You should feel proud. I'm proud of you. Woohoo! We are going to do this. YAY!!!

It was hard today especially with me not feeling well. You just kinda want to do what you want to when you don't feel good. The whole thing was 380 calories, so I just guessed and put myself down for 300 calories, since I didn't have the applesauce or vanilla wafers. I was careful with the rest of m food for the day and still managed to stay in range. At the high end, but I've been towards the lower end, so maybe that's not too bad. Then I ended up taking a nap today & felt a little better so I got in my workout too. I did 1hr 43 min on my wii today. I'm tired now, but proud of myself. I just keep imagining my slimmer healthier me, and all the things I want to do with my kids and my life and that's motivation enough for me. Good night team.

Awesome advice Marsha. That is hard to do sometimes, accept our mistakes and move on instead of making it worst. So Kudos for you for not letting that ruin your day.

I am going to try and make it to the Step class today. I hope traffic is on my side and that I find parking as well. Class is kind of early so I have to kind of rush.

Staying home with the little one today, he's been sick a few days, & seems he has passed it on to me. I feel absolutely yucky. However, I did make it to the grocery store & picked up lots of veggies and healthy meal options. Then we get home & he had one of those little Lunchables meals. Let me tell you, the calories are crazy on those things for it to just be some meat cheese & crackers. Know how I know this? Son says "Mommy, I don't won't this anymore." After he only ate about 1 cracker with cheese and meat, so I figured why let it go to waste? So, I ate it. Those things pack in about 400 calorie. However, I think that's for the whole box, & it also had applesauce and some vanilla wafers. I didn't eat those, he did. The point is , it's not gonna feel me up for lunch I'm not even sure how to track it calorie wise since I only ate part of the thing! Then I had made some Fiber One Blueberry Muffins yesterday. Healthy? Yes. If you go about eating them only 1 or 2 a day. 160 calories each! And like an idiot I ate the last 3!! I'm gonna blame it on being sick & focus really hard on watching my food for the rest of the day. Gonna try for 30 minutes on my wii fit plus & maybe just maybe walk on my treadmill very slowly later tonight for as long as I can. I figure that's better than nothing. But first, I'm ready for a nap. I'm drained just from the trip to the grocery store then carrying all that food upstairs. Hope everyone is having a good day. Mistakes happen, don't let them rule your day! I messed up, but I see what I've done wrong & I'm gonna make the best of what's left of today!!

I came across this website and thought it can benefit all of us. I think they research all kinds of diets out there and give their reviews on them and I guess go into what each one is about.

Good Morning Team,

A new week and a new day to make a difference and a new start. Let's make today productive. This journey is about us, our healths, our lives. Let's fight it with everything we got. For some of us this can be a life or death situation. Let's get healthy together. Let's stop procrastinating, doubting, questioning, making excuses, being lazy or simply not caring. Let's just stop and fight all those feelings and go not by how we feel but by what we know is right. That is getting healthy and doing what we must to achieve that.

May all of you have a wonderful day. Drink your water, eat your veggies, fruits and fibers. EXERCISE!!!. Go for a walk/jog, Do a fitness DVD, hit the gym, go swimming, jump on your treadmill. JUST DO IT, DO SOMETHING!!! We are worth it. Today is our tomorrow let's not waste it team.

Okay so this weekend was not as I expected. A bit too much drama and setbacks.............. Didn't accomplish what I expected workout wise. But my eating was not so bad except a few sweets I had. Tomorrow is Monday, a new day, a new week. My intentions are to hit the YMCA every day (God Permits) and have a productive week.

This weekend was emotionally draining :-(

That is awesome Marsha. I say if we find something we are liking lets just keep doing it CONSISTENTLY. After a few months Let's incorporated something new into the mix.

Tonight I am doing the ZUMBA, tomorrow I am trying the STEP (if I can make it on time) and Thursday going for the PUMP IT UP class again.

Last week I tried a PUMP IT UP fitness class at the YMCA. Let me tell you... It kicked my butt, LOL! Some moves I couldn't even do, at least not their way. I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish the hour but I pushed through and I did it. At end of class I was as red as a stawberry. Didn't think I'll do it again, at least till i'm more fit and lighter so I can be more flexible. But my BF who took the class also is actually looking forward to it this week. He also said class kicked his butt and he ain't having it. He wants to overcome the class, LOL! So i figured, heck I'll do it too. The worst thing that can happen is that I get Tone in the process and stronger.

For the month of March I am also trying the STEP class (tomorrow).

I need all the help I can get. I have plenty of DVD's at home but joining the Y has helped me stay accountable. After all it is not cheap the membership. I have to take advantage of all it offers. Once I lose at least half of my weight I need. I will join the learn to swim lessons. Right now you will not catch me wearing a bathing suit in public.

What are you guys going to try new this month? Share!

So I went to the YMCA yesterday and did the PumpitUP class for the first time. WOW! WHOA! It was so challenging. I thought I was going to drop in the middle of things. I had to keep pushing myself. I would have laughing episodes at times people must of thought I was nutty. It was fun!

This week my daughter just turned 15 yesterday so was busy doing stuff I needed done for her day. YIKES!!!

You are absolutely right. We become just like our parents. I remember my parents never going out and just wanting to stay at home all the time. I dont want to be like that but it looks like I am just like them now.

That is exactly how I have been behaving lately. After a while one does not even want to go out anymore. I had to force myself to go out today. I am glad though because I do feel better.

I am feeling better today. I was able to go out and that lifted my mood a lot. I have plans for tomorrow as well so things are ok with me.

I truly believe that if you want something enough you can get it. We are the only ones who hold us back and stop us from reaching out to win our dreams. I know the reason I am still fat is because of myself. Only I can change myself and reach my goal. If I dont succeed then the only culprit is me.
