I too only count the time I was actually working hard. I have a bad back and can only dig the garden for about 15 minutes then I rest for 5 before starting again. I keep track in my head how many 15 mins I work!

I only spend the time I spend actually working. However, if I am working hard and or with harder tasks, I count the whole time I am working. If I am doing lighter things I while only count part of the time, sometimes as little as half.

I think you have to kind of ballpark it. I usually go by how long I was out there sweating and breathing hard. If you're working hard for 20 minutes and then resting for 10, I'd count the 20, so maybe 40 minutes out of each hour? You might try to jot down how many actual minutes you are working each time you take a break and then add it up.

How do you track your fitness activity for gardening if you spend 5 or more hours? I have had surgery on my back and I can only walk or bend or stand for 20 minutes max...........then I have to rest 5 or 10 minutes. I 'm talking about carrying hanging baskets, and weeding/or transplanting seedlings in pots or baskets. What should I put on my Fitness tracker?
