Sparkmishy, don't give up on your cypress yet. They are known for going dormant during droughts, and coming back to life after a good rainy spell, although this late in the summer, it might be next spring.
You are right. a "bucket" just doesn't cut it. soaker hose is good, at the drip line, not at the base of the trunk. (For anyone who isn't acquainted with that term, it's where the rain would drip if the tree were an umbrella).
So, I was outside watering, feeding the dogs and the two songs that were grooving in my mind were both KC and the Sunshine band. The first being Shake Your Bootie and the other being Get Down Tonight.
Don't think Don will impact us, we are in dfw, way north texas...but we can always dream....
I just had the funniest typo in the world on this post, I accidentally typed "shave your bootie". Thank goodness for reviewing my post!
Think we lost the bald cyprus seedling i gave Jim for his bday a few years back. I warned him about it and he said, what, do we need to go throw a bucket of water on it or something? LOL. Doesn't work that way, I should have been keeping a drip hose on it more often. It was so pretty...
You can count on me to give a little dance to help you get rain. I heard this morning that tropical storm Don is heading for Texas and will likely mean welcomed rain. I am not sure where you are compared to where it is suppose to travel.
