Thanks for the warning on the deer and cantaloupe! That was unexpected. That tells me which spot to put them. I have one spot with a high fence to keep critters out.

I put March 17, St Patrick's Day, on my calendar as seed starting day. Will start patio gardening flowers, herbs, and a couple maybe 2 veggies, on that date.

I'm in zone 5, also. Haven't had a lot of luck starting seeds inside. We have a small greenhouse near us that sells plants pretty cheap so we have been going that route. If we bought the seeds they would start them for us...& they could sell the plants from the extra seeds.

We have a pretty good size garden...tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, kohlrabi, broccoli...and a huge asparagus patch. Would love to plant cantaloupe but there are too many deer that would like that too.

Around here (zone 5) I don't even start seeds indoors until late Feb. So I am still in the planning stage.

I just received my seed order for Spring. I'm planning to plant zucchini, squash, bell peppers, tomatoes, peas, and green beans. I intend to add cantaloupe this year for the first time in about a decade.

What's your plan? Have you started in any way yet?
