I have lots of plants in my yard that seem to survive even with my lack of knowledge. I have, however, had to replace some too.

I thought I killed the grapevines last year but they look great this year so I am a happy gardner!

Have a GREAT day and glad the article helped.

Thanks so much for the great site with all the information I need. I disagree that I have done anything right as these bushes are at least 6 years old and I have NEVER pruned them except that once. But now I know why they almost died and how to prune and care for them in the future!! emoticon Thanks again!!!

Does anyone one know if Lavender should be pruned? I did it one year and almost killed it so I don't do it anymore. The snows here in the East about did it in and so I did prune all non producing "branches" away this spring. There is new growth at the base and on the "branches" that were spared but it looks terrible now with big woods branches (they are that thick now) here and there. I love my lavender but want it to be full and bushy. Thanks!
