Well - with the honeycrisp in their genes no wonder I liked it (after getting one that was not so hot the 2nd was awesome - always give things a 2nd chance - ya never know!)

That's neat info Sunny, thanks for posting!

I will look for this apple. It sounds great.

MACOUN APPLES.

Macoun Apple. Macoun apples are an apple that is extra sweet, aromatic, juicy with a hint of Crunch. Macoun are known as a perfect apple with a little cheese and wine. Macoun Apples are also great for salads and sauce. Macoun apples are recommended up till Christmas time. Macoun. A favorite of New York and New England. Macoun apple is one of the parents of Honeycrisp!

I tried anothr Macoun apple today. This one was very crispy & tart-sweet, with pristine white, crispy flesh & a thin skin. A new fav!

The idea of taking along a list is a great idea! I too once did a list of things to try -- beers.

What other foods are there lots of varieties of that we could list out & try? Lettuces & greens for sure ...I love baby arugula, chard, baby spinach, butter lettuce...Oh this is fun, thinking of all the HEALTHY foods I get to eat instead of being downhearted about the stuff I shouldn't eat.

Stay calm and carry on.

Wow! About that Apple list......
I think I will just make a list of the different ones in the stores to try and watch for different ones I don't have on my list!!! LOL

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

APPLES. One of my favorite foods bar none. Apples are the reason I can't go shopping hungry, I buy too many.

I like them all, they all seem to have a place and a purpose. For straight out eating I love honeycrisp and fuji.

I might have to try the list thing Sunny mentioned it is an awesome goal!

Thanks for the link.

Years ago, I made a list of all the Pepperidge Farm's cookies and crossed them off as I tried them. So - great idea with the apples and much healthier.

I saw Pink Ladies at the store yesterday. I am going to get some before we leave Wichita as I have not seen them in the area where I live.

Thanks for the great link. I am kind of amazed also at the number of varieties available.

Have a blessed day. Sunny

My favorites are Honey Crisp, Melrose, and Blushing Golden. (or is it Golden Blushing?) Anyway, we have the Melrose and BG trees, and I want to plant a Honey Crisp this fall.

Where I live this is THE season for apples. All kinds show up at the farmer's market & in our local grocery stores.

I love to try all the varieties I can find..So far:
Macoun, Empire, Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, Ambrosia, Jazz, Crispin (aka Mutsu), Nittany, Pineapple....well, not all of them are "new" to me, but they aren't available most of the year. So I am on my apple a day kick. Yippeee!

What are YOUR faves? (I can't believe there isn't an apple emoticon!)

Stay calm and carry on.
