That's a fantastic site! I've added it to my favorites to reference later. That's going to be so helpful. Thank you!

Hi, I don't much Herb gardening. And also do not do much with the Herbs when I do! LOL
But I did find this web site a year ago and use it when I have a question about Herbs.
It tells about raising them and their uses....

That's good info. Mine has become really "leggy" and although the flowers are attractive the rest of it...Not so much. I think I'll pinch mine. Thanks!

BTW; what do you do with Sage? I have lots of herbs growing but really don't know how to use but a few of them. You could day I'm a much better gardener than I am a cook!

Wow!!! Now I know what to do. I love the flowers, but will pinch back some of the greenery. Thanks for the great information.

I like to pinch back my sage as well as all my herbs. It keeps them reproducing and branching. I do let the lavender go though as the flowers are edible.

I don't think blooming affects the flavor of sage like it does with cilantro, basil and some others. Let 'er bloom!

I leave the blooms on mine too because I love all of the butterflies and other insects that come to visit it.
I stand there and take pictures!!! ha ha

I found this sentence online but nothing else about flowering....
"Pruning after flowering will keep plants attractive and prevent them from getting too woody and leggy."

Hi Joan. I let my sage bloom because they are beautiful. I don't know if you are suppose to or not. Guess I'm not much help. emoticon

Has anyone have a herb garden? I am trying a small one. What I would like to know is my sage is starting to bloom and do I need to cut off the blooms?
Thanks, Joan
