My dream garden would have plenty of flowers, fruit trees, lots of veggies in raised beds (I have that part) and NO PALM TREES! We have 3 in our yard and they are such a pain in the butt. The person who owned this house before us seemed to have a thing for roses and I'm not a big fan of roses, we've removed 3 already but there are still 12 more that I'm leaving for now. I've added a few fruit trees to our yard (fig and pomegranate). I would I love the weather here in the Bay Area in all seasons but summer, it is just too hot.

Since I'm in Zone 9, my dream garden has Japanese maple and weeping cherry trees in it, b/c they don't grow here. I'd also have tons of peonies, which also can't grow here. I'd also like a magic garden without weeds, aphids, or other pests.

Take care,
Stacy

My dream garden is one that looks like those in my Square Foot Garden book...lush, horizontal/vertical, green, no weeds, bugs or iguanas that munch on seedlings. Also, flowering trees surrounding it all!

The new orchard I want to start this spring, with pears, peaches and apples. No deer that eat my beautiful daylilies, roses, tiger lilies, irises sunflowers, veggies, evergreens, weeping cherry trees, Japanese maple etc.

A quiet secluded garden with masses of color and fragrance. A quiet bench under a tree, a small stream gurgling through with an arched bridge, a patch of velvety grass to lay on and do some serious cloud watching... I feel my self relaxing already!

My dream garden would be a kind of Secret Garden, all enclosed and private, with a chamomille lawn and pretty little white gazebo, red climbing roses and honeysuckle, lots of fragrance. I'd have a mix of evergreens and deciduous trees with brilliant autumn color - and red bark maple or dogwood for winter color. I want something I can enjoy all year.

No grass, no weeds (riiight). Feeders for birds and squirrels, catnip for the visitors, a small pond with pink water lilies and a few fish. The dog will sleep on the chamomille lawn and smell like bubble gum afterwards.

LOL Oh my goodness Chabean you had me laughing. I agree with you on the weeds. I was pulling them today.
Where does your dad live? I want some of his soil too.

My dream garden is ANY thing but weeds. I can grow many different weeds. My dream garden would also have my dad's soil. He has the best anywhere. He can grow anything. And his tomatoes are the best you'll ever taste. (Maybe if I start taking his soil 1 ziploc at a time):)

My dream garden has raised beds full of veggies, flowers and herbs, with cats and chickens strolling along the paths between the beds. Daylilies and shrubs form a wall and flowering vines and beans and ornamental gourds grow on trellises or arches. The whole thing is surrounded by about 10 acres of wildflowers, and there is another separate flower garden with stone-lined beds with various themes like moonlight (white-flowering things like moonflower and white-foliage things too) bed, scents bed, roses bed, foliage/fern bed, blue flower bed. Well, I'm going hog wild but sounds nice doesn't it!?

Dream Garden:
picture formal gardens very common at the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island
but I'll also need a section for a cottage type garden
and here's what I'd like for my veggie garden, (still formal)

As we are enjoying some wonderful spring like weather in my neck of the woods I can't help but DREAM of what I might be growing this new planting season.

Please share with us YOUR dream Garden.

I am in zone 5 so I can't grow tropical fruit trees. We are in the process of getting the plans drawn together for our own greenhouse on our property. I can't wait to put a LIME tree in my greenhouse. My DREAM garden would be filled with all the wonderful tropicals my Southern friends can grow in the garden.

Do share ??? emoticon

IT all begins with YOU..... Plant the seeds and get growing healthy!

Can't find me - I am always in the garden:
