That's beautiful, Bella!
I got up, and went outside, even though I didn't feel like moving. It was great!

Took a moment to really listen to music in the car today. Its amazing what we do not hear when our minds are tuned in to the mind only! :) Blissful tears rolled down my cheeks... Pretty amazing, truly.

Tried a Spark recipe today. All it was was black beans, brown rice, and salsa heated in the microwave. It took a little over three minutes start to finish!

Very cool, Peggy! And a day or two at maintentance level does not necessarily mean you won't lose. You are kicking booty!
I got up and meditated for the first time in a while. It was a great way to start my day!

I am learning ~ baby steps :)
Late last night, I was REALLY hungry so I decided to have a couple of pieces of raisin toast with a touch of butter. That would put me at maintenance level ~ not losing but not gaining, which was good enough for me. But, after I ate it, I decided to heck with it and went into the kitchen to get some cookies. But, when I got there, I shut the cupboard door and decided "No" I won't do that to myself. I felt good about that choice.
Namaste,
Peggy

choices here lately. :)
Last night, after running around shopping, we went to A&W and I had a Teen Burger but did NOT have the fries, root beer or anything else. I was able to fit the Teen Burger into my SP program and was happy because I haven't had a burger in awhile and I tend to feel kinda like Jughead about burgers. BUT, I did notice when doing my Daily Report that it was the FIRST time ever, since joining SP, that I was OVER in both Fat and Cholesterol so it's not something I will do often.
** Note ~ my son told me last night, and I confirmed it online, that US and Canadian A&Ws are different and owned by different companies. Different food etc. I found that kind of "odd" but interesting.
Namaste,
Peggy

I ate a good breakfast despite the fact that I don't like eating too much early in the day. I'm loving Christmas oranges. :)
I hope that is oatmeal, not soup? LOL

-I ate before I went grocery shopping. -Brought home a bunch of healthy food. -Ate mindfully so far today. -Joined the 200 squats challenge. -Practiced gratitude.

Good choices I've made today (so far!):
1. Getting out of bed even though I didn't want to 2. Listening to a meditative podcast 3. Taking care of myself by eating a healthy breakfast and taking my vitamins 4. Recognizing my negative thoughts as merely thoughts and not reality

This should probably say Good Choices I made YESTERDAY, because I'm usually a day behind on posting. Anyway:
-I passed up cake in the office, then passed it up again when a coworker brought me some later! -I did my interval workout, then yoga later. -I tracked my food earlier in the day, then did not deviate from it. -I spent more time on SP. -I drank a bunch of water! -I had green tea just before dinner to make it easier to stick to my portions.

-enjoyed some turbo jam. -did my upper body ST. -dh and I made a lovely, huge, pot of homemade chicken soup with oodles of veggies. -listened to a motivational podcast. -walked in the snow with the pooch. -noticed tension in my shoulders, and made a conscious effort to move them back down where they belong. -came here and posted!

Enjoyed catching up on this thread! Is actually quite motivating when it's lacking... lol!
Good Choices I've Made Lately:
NOT MANY!
Not really sure what happened... but during week 3 of 3 week ankle sprain... I sorta lost control! And I have to admit... I only feel a tinge guilty... hahaha!
I feel gross... and can't wait to get going the other direction!
So... good choice???

Hey Karen, I am not home yet, but I have already decided to give my dogs a lot of love tonight to honor the happiness they give me. Other than that I have: 1. Got up early to get my exercise in even though I have a pulled muscle in my shoulder 2. Kept the stress down at work even though we had a huge storm and their were a lot of claims today. I did this by thinking on my drive to work how I was going to deflect the stress of other people by not reacting but being proactive. 3. Fixed a good healthy lunch and allowed myself a small hot chocolate as a treat (instead of coffee and mocha) 4. Have planned a good dinner with lots of veggies. 5. Got a good night's sleep last night and it has helped get through this day.

Karen, you are making great choices.
Today I did something I rarely do. I called my doctor's office and they weren't busy, so I got in today and had a physical. It has been 2 years. I found out that other than a mammogram I am up to date on all the rest of my preventive health tests. woo hoo

Good choices I've made today:
1. got my obsessive thoughts about ice cream under control by remembering to take each choice as a moment by moment decision 2. exercised with a little more cardio than I have been doing lately 3. good healthy choices of food and amount of calorie consumption 4. read blogs to get my motivation revved up

Yay, Ducky!
-Didn't have any desert at our early Thanksgiving celebration. -bought a dark chocolate bar days ago, but haven't finished it yet. Watching my portions. -Oatmeal for breakfast, adding extra cinnamon to (hopefully) lower my cholesterol. -Made my annual dr. appointment. -Came home late after work last night, but went out with my dog and looked up at the stars. -Did yoga. -Paying close attention to my breathing and posture.

Good Choices I Have Made Recently:
- Didn't touch the Halloween candy until after it was in the house for 3 days, and then, only had a few and really didn't want it! YA! Getting my teeth cleaned may have helped that! - Got my teeth cleaned... NO CAVITIES! Ya me... and I hadn't been there in 2 years... she was shocked! So was I! LOL! - Took it REALLY easy, thank God hubby happened to be home when I sprained my ankle and was stuck in bed with the flu all day yesterday! Not 100% in either area... but I think onto a quick recovery! - Overall... making healthy substainable choices! Scale ain't moving in any direction right now, and I will take that... I feel good with what I see in the mirror!

-limited myself to one serving of trail mix. -had roast beef last night, and only had a tiny bit. -already bought my holiday cards. -spent some quality time outside with my pooch. -practiced gratitude the last couple nights just before falling asleep. -got my gloves out of storage, and dug out my winter coat. It's definitely coming, so I might as well be ready. -Did my upper body ST, and a little bit of yoga last night. -Drank plenty of water.

-Assembled a crock pot of my favorite soup on Tuesday evening while listening to a fitness podcast. It was ready for DH to turn on on Wednesday, when I knew I'd be late because of a dentist appointment. -Went to the mall after the dentist on Wednesday, bought a new bra that fits (yay!), got some exercise doing some window shopping, parked VERY far from the door, then came home to my yummy soup. Very little mess to clean up, either. -diced extra veggies and divided the leftover soup into freezer bags on Thursday as I was making dinner. Starting to get the nest ready for winter! -played my guitar several times this week. Love the way I can tune (lol at the pun) everything else out and be totally in the moment. -enjoyed some magical fall weather. -was starting to feel a little anxious because I can't afford to replace some of my usual go-to foods, and realized there is plenty here if I get creative. Boiled some eggs, made some popcorn, made a lovely whole-wheat pasta salad with veggies. Even had a portion of baked beans for a snack rather than my usual string cheese. I am not going to die if I have to replace my fresh apple with some apple sauce temporarily until I can get back to the store. -did my interval workout three times last week, did crunches most days, push-up challenge twice, upper body ST once, and lower body ST twice. Did little bits of yoga and gardening, too. Staying active, but not too long at once. It's allowing me to keep the balance I need between home, work, health and hobbies. -overindulged in sweets on my birthday, and the day after (one of the kids went home and told his mom it was my birthday, came back the next day with this yummy homemade cream cheese danish-type thing (cream cheese anything is my weakness!), warm from the oven. No, not good choices, but I ate healthy otherwise, drank plenty of water, and made sure to move.

Good choices I've made recently!!!
- busted my butt clearing my driveway from the left over patio supplies. Still not done the patio... but snow is on the horizon, and I didn't want to be shovelling around the crates, left over sand and bricks! And... I jogged two 12 x 12 bricks at a time from the front of my yard to the back... man, was a sweating! Feeling it today... but so worth it! BOOYAH!

Good choices I've made recently?
- Drank lots of water yesterday! - got my 2 fruits in - limited my starch intake - ate when hungry and stopped the second I felt slightly full! - didn't go to Starbucks this morning, and am sitting here drinking Green Tea instead! - am honestly developing a thicker skin... booyah! - am choosing to be the mom I thought I wasn't... it's never too late to be the person you thought you could be... not that I was so horrible, but I am simply VERY HARD ON MYSELF... lol!

Made many good choices this weekend. -Went to a birthday party, and didn't eat anything. -Wanted to do many things at once, so I used my timer and alternated active and sedentary activities. -Played my guitar. -Gardened and walked a lot! -Did my ST both nights. -Got plenty of water.

i did 20 minutes of turbo jam...instead of my usual zero exercise :)
To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." ~ La Roch
-no extra coffee (with creamer) at work. -healthy meals and snacks. -no chocolate milk. -came home from a long day to find my dog had been sick and crapped all over. Instead of letting it ruin my evening, I cleaned up the mess, then did some Turbo Jam. Then I had the ambition to cook a healthy, tasty dinner. -brought work home, but didn't let it dominate my evening. Stopped early enough to finish the book I've been reading, and get to bed at a reasonable hour. -thoroughly Sonicared and flossed my teeth.

Great job, you guys! Don't disappear completely, Joann - we would miss you! Yep, Kendra, sounds like you need to stop thinking!! LOL
Had computer issues yesterday morning, so I didn't get a chance to post on here. Have made great choices for the last three days. Here are a few of them:
-When I made dinner on Sunday, I cut the veggies I needed for Monday and Tuesday's dinners as well. -Had protein with breakfast Monday and Tuesday, as I've noticed lately that raisin bran alone does not cut it. I am starving by 2nd hour. -Worked on the budget, now that I know how much we'll be paying for medical bills, and it doesn't look as bad as I was afraid it would. The relief is priceless! -Made an effort to be aware of my posture, keep my shoulders down, and breathe! -Ate clean all three days - it's amazing how much better I feel! -Went grocery shopping this weekend, so planning is much easier. -Bought pretty, new drinking glasses. Makes drinking my water more enjoyable.

Ate fairly healthy! Got a few things accomplished in the yard! Stopped my mind from going on and on and on about my step-daughter and what needs to happen! Stopped my mind from allowing my body to feel sick at the idea of how out of control my life feels! Stopped my mind from continuing on down the path of just giving up completely! It all just seems like too much... as in, how do I handle this crap for the rest of my life... my future seems so bleek when I think of it all!

Thanks Kendra and Karen, my 2 biggest supporters!!
Today is early and so far my good choices have been to: 1. relax 2. straighten up clothes on shelves, refold, more organized, looks nicer 3. went to Burger King and bought the breakfast muffin which is the cheapest and least amount of calories, but still participating with the rest of family in their outing. I felt good giving half of the muffin to the dogs and a few bites of the sausage. Drank one glass of 1% milk which I love and don't indulge in very often 4. took measurements and see that I am disappearing, which gives me more incentive to have a good day.

Great job Karen!
And way to go Joann! I am proud of you for recognizing and being honest with yourself about this. Hmmm... just a thought... but you had a wicked month of weight loss. I wouldn't beat myself up too bad for feeling a bit taxed! Take a week or two and work on maintaining for a bit, obviously not giving up... just switching gears a bit... another words... reboot! Then, you come back raring to go and kick some fats butt! You are doing this, even if not always in full throttle. You most definitely will find your groove again!

Great job to both of you!!
-Measured my raisin bran. -Cleaned my kitchen, so I don't mind cooking in it. -Had half a grapefruit for a mid-morning snack. -Green tea instead of hot chocolate.

Feeling very low energy today I was also losing my motivation. So the best choices I made today were:
1. Revisit old friends on Spark and catch up on where they are. 2. Accept that this is just a temporary feeling that will pass maybe even tomorrow. 3. Think about a new way to recommit to sticking with my plans... maybe a new exercise tape or a different meal plan. Haven't decided what it is going to be, but know that I will find it and get my energy revitalized.
