Last week I went on a trip to visit my son. I went via Greyhound. Due to an error on Greyhounds end, I almost wasn't allowed on the bus (the driver refused my ticket) and I had to deal with the ticketing agent and nearly missed my bus. I panicked and had so much anxiety my heart felt like it was going to burst through my chest and I thought I was going to pass out. I had a bottle of water in my bag and started taking small sips of the water to try normalize my heart rate (I had some odd reasoning as to why I thought it might work but I forget the exact reasoning... I just wanted to stop myself from passing out really lol). Well surprisingly enough it actually helped calm me down a little, long enough for them to sort my ticket and get me on the bus (it was late leaving so I didn't miss it). I can't say this will work every time but its just a friendly suggestion when the anxiety hits its worse (or as it starts) sip on some water. It can probably help calm you and also hydrates and lessens the feeling of your heart possibly bursting through your chest. Hope this tip can help others, Inshaallah!
