I feel the same way. Through the years, I've gone through therapy due to stress and then again when "almost" a family crisis occurred-- but, I think a good friend who is there to laugh and cry through it all with you can be alot more personal and maybe of more help than conventional therapy -- depending on the reason for going. Friends who know you and how you think -- have a better feel for how to help. But, in some instances, a therapist may be in order -- and, as Nola said, whatever helps is the best!
I was going to see a 'therapist' and honestly not getting anything out of the session. I found that the BEST therapy for me is to sit down with my friends and talk...I mean really talk! Let them know what's going on in your life and share what is going on with them. Honestly they help me look at life differently and I have found that I've helped them along the way too!
