We're all normal, my friend! And, the funny thing about it is, is that the person sitting next to you could be having the same sort of feelings or panic attacks -- who would know? But, I just hope that those individuals get help for their feelings also -- as so many people tend to hide it or feel ashamed -- and, why? I think it is more common than we all know and it's just great that we've come together to talk it out, share each other's feelings and ideas on how to win over those feelings step by step! Fantastic, everyone!

I feel a lot more 'normal' knowing that I'm not the only one who suffers these attacks. Calling the experience an 'out of body experience' is a very good way to describe how it feels. Peace and love everyone.

Sounds somewhat like "focusing" -- realizing your body's actions, feelings and being more in tune to them and especially when the panic attacks come on. What super great advice and discussion everyone -- a sure help to us all! Thanks and hugs for sharing!

yep i totally know what you mean with this one! i call it my "out of body experience"
someone explained to me why it happens though a long time ago and i never forgot it. they said that sometimes your brain is dealing with so much stress, and processing things in overtime, that it just has to take a rest. so when you feel fuzzy or out of it, just think of it as your brain resting for a bit...like a computer when the fan kicks in lol
i always think about that and whenever that feeling comes it doesnt really frighten me anymore

When I first started getting panic attacks the feeling of unreality really freaked me out. I found that it helps me a lot to read as much as I can about panic disorder because every single one of my symptoms turns out to be pretty common. A relief to know I'm not really losing my mind!

"It's almost like im watching a TV show and am not really there" - Yeah i can understand that! Nice to know there are other people out there who understand what i'm going through.

I'm feeling a bit better today. Blood Sugar level this morning was 4.3, but i feel a little bit better today. Still pretty tired and a bit disorientated. I'm actually going to try and go out for a walk and see if it helps, which must be a good sign because yesterday i couldn't even face the thought of leaving the house.

If I get stressed, usually in places like supermarkets I get quite disorientated. It's almost as if I'm watching a tv show and am not really there but am actually in the show. Not sure if that makes sense but I know what you are going through.

I think that is still a little low but I am not sure-it has been a while since I actually tested mine. You should be able to look it up on the internet. My anxiety always has a dizziness to it but it is worse when my sugar is low. I think it took them years to diagnose my anxiety because I always told the Dr.'s I was dizzy so I know how you feel.

Thankyou very much for your support. I have a blood Sugar Monitor so just out of interest i took my blood Sugar, and even after the food i have eaten today (1,450 Calories, including some honey on wholemeal toast) My level was 6.3, is that where it is supposed to be?

I only took it because somebody mentioned blood sugar, and i was interested to see what it actually was.

I feel slightly less light headed after eating some proper dense food today, but still pretty spaced out, and that horrible 'not real' feeling.

Great advice, and I've never had the dizzy feeling for that length of time, but you're doing the right thing by getting in your calories and concentrate on your B's! They're so needed for stress and I hope you feel better soon! Keep us up on how you're feeling -- we care, hun, and we want to help you as much as we can!

I know exactly how you feel. It is like that when your blood sugar drops from not eating. I try to have a package of cheese and crackers or granola bar with me in case I forget to eat or am in a hurry.

I was wondering if there was anybody else out there that suffers with this particularly distressing symptom of Anxiety.

When i first started suffering with Anxiety, this was my worst symptom. I didn't feel real at all, i felt dizzy all the time, and it was like living in a goldfish bowl.

I'm just slightly concerned that, ok, i have been a bad girl and have been not meeting my calorie intake which means i have been under eating. Five weeks on i feel dizzy, and the derealisation is coming back. I assume its because i havent had enough food, but i just feel awfull, and those feelings coming back to me is just making me very depressed. I have learnt my lesson, and fully intake to meet my calorie needs every day, i have even been reading the spark information pages and been reading articles about how to boost my calorie intake in gradual ways.

I just wondered if there are other people out there.
